I've never done yoga but I just finished Richard Simmons' 80s Blast for the first time. For my level right now I thought it was perfect. Easy to follow yet really made me sweat. I was able to finish feeling good and not completely dragging. All I've been doing is walking so this was a nice change. My doc said no weights or ab workouts for 3 months. The workout is only 30 minutes so it will be perfect for me in a few months to follow up with some weights.

I can always feel my port but after exercising it feels much bigger, or closer to the skin or something. We had a crawfish boil yesterday and I drank too much. I told myself I'd have a glass of water between each drink but that didn't happen. It was really so much fun though I did go over my calories. Today I weighed thinking to be devastated by the scale and it actually moved! 3lbs!!!!! It hasn't moved in something like 2 1/2 weeks!

bmrichard, I see Dr. Spiegel in his Pt. Neches office, I haven't met anyone else on here that sees him over here. I had my second fill on Monday. He brought me up to 1.8, I think. Still not feeling any restriction. I ate two grilled chicken tenders at dinner and didn't have any problems. When I was in his office there were people talking about needing a fill because they could eat 6 bites instead of just three. I don't want to be that restricted but I want to at least feel it stop me! I'm still at just 21lbs down. The scale refuses to budge!

Can I hear from the self pays please?
texgirl replied to pschmolle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I tried for 3 years to get approved. I finally just gave up and self-paid. I originally had Aetna. I had all the requirements they asked for and they still denied me. My insurance changed to United Healthcare and our policy has an exclusion. Everything went so quickly after I decided to self-pay that a wish I had made that decision 3 years ago! -
We have 2 Jason's here! They have the very best salad bar!

Congratulations Starbux! There is a thread somewhere under March 2008 with a list of everyone banded in March and the date they were banded on.

I've been stuck at 21lbs for 2 weeks. Then over the weekend I gained 3lbs. I had my second fill on Monday and I'm on 3 days of liquids. I've stayed active - more active than I've been in years. Hopefully the scale will start moving soon. I've also noticed a lot of folks gone.

My boss uses it. He highly recommends it to everyone who will listen, but he's not banded.

Oh man! I feel awful now. Can I delete that comment???

I wonder how he judges how much to put in. He said he was going to give me up to 2 this time but then only gave me up to 1.8. This time I kind of felt him hit the port too. It didn't hurt, but felt a little funny.

And I don't like the new lady at the top of the screen. I miss the apple lady.

I just had my second fill this morning. I had no restriction with my first fill so hopefully this one will make a difference. I'm now at 1.8 in my 4cc band.

I had a bad day Saturday. It involved a donut and spaghetti. Granted it wasn't 4 donuts and 2 plates of spaghetti like it would have been pre-band, but it was definitely not good choices. Anyway, the scales showes I gained 3 lbs!!! I'm very disappointed and frustrated with myself but I've got a fill scheduled today and hope the 3 days of liquids will put me back on track.

I don't burp but I get the hiccups almost every time I eat. I'm so sick of coworkers saying "so what did you drink at lunch? Ha Ha Ha!" I do get the gurgling sometimes too.

I've been stuck at 21lbs since Saturday. I was losing at least 1/2 a lb a day and now I'm stuck!!!

Read the March bandster master thread. There are a lot of good ideas. -

Weight4Change, I had surgery on March 7th by Dr. Spiegel. He is wonderful!!! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions! -
CONFESSIONS!!! I had a cheesy beefy melt from Taco Bell today...I hadn't had one before but thought "hey, lots of protein." Anyway, it was really big and filled with rice and I slowly ate almost the whole thing. It was 2:30 and all I had to eat was a slim fast at 7:30 this morning. I did come home and walk 2 miles so I don't feel quite so bad.

I had surgery on Friday and returned to work Tuesday. All of my weight loss has been since surgery. I was at my highest ever on the day of my surgery. It seems to have slowed down because I've been at 21lbs since Saturday.

For post-op, the first week you stay on liquids, slim fast, etc. The second week you can add in creamy soups, the third week you can have mashed potatos, soft fish, etc. and the 4th week you can have anything (except sweets)!

Mel, my band is 4cc and I think he put in 1.2cc on the 31st. I don't know how he decides what size band to use. I talked to one lady in the office with a 10cc band and she hasn't been able to find restriction yet and was very unhappy about it. I'm not feeling any restriction at all. I'm eating small portions but I'm forcing myself to not eat more. I can eat bread and rice and I know I shouldn't be able to do that. It's frustrating and I'm thankful for this board so that I know it's normal to need a few fills.
-
Dr. Spiegel gave me my first fill on 3/31. I didn't feel a thing!!!! Not restricted though, so I just made an appointment for next Monday. When I read some of the threads on this website I'm so happy I used Dr. Spiegel, some people have to wait months before getting a fill and have to be on liquids for 4-5 weeks after surgery.

Where are you....and what do you do?

I live in southeast Texas. I'm a legal assistant. -
My NSV! Yesterday I wore blue jeans, size 18 that actually buttoned and zipped, instead of those comfy elastic waist pants I've been in. I felt so great!!!

I had my first fill on 3/31. I'm not feeling any restriction yet either. Today I even had chicken & rice casserole. I had no problem with the rice. I'm forcing myself to eat small portions but I know they are more than the 4-6 ounces I'm supposed to eat. I'm still losing so I'm not worried about it yet and luckily, my doctor will give me a fill every two weeks if I'm still feeling hungry.
