Howdy folks, I don't know how you folks do it. How do you answer all the postings by name and not have this thing time out? I hope you don't mind me just answering what I remember (although I've been brain dead lately) and chit chatting I'm glad I'm not in the wrong room...didn't want to bust in and have ya think us Massachusetts peeps just don't mind our business lol. Anyone ever been to Massachusetts? What weather we're having geesh...one day snow, next day about 40...Good ole New England for ya I actually love the change in weather. Although, I'm looking forward to getting back into the pool and exercise that way. My butt doesn't hurt so much when ya floatin versus that EVIL stationary bike...It's EVIL I tell ya. Dang food devil on my shoulder even skips town when I hope on that thing. He comes back when I'm thirsty. Whisperin.....soda, milkshake, frappe, coolatta I just spit water at him hahahaha Anywho...just did the usual today. Work and home except worked way too many hours today and still have to do some here at home. One of these days I pray this new account is under control and I get my life back. I'll be up for hours today anyway though. Hubby's Grandmother passed away so he had to leave for NY Not a good way to start the year off but, we're told she went peacefully. She lived a full life.....89 and 13 children. God bless her. Have a great night folks. I have to tell ya something......YOU ALL have been terrific and I'm truly thankful for all the smiles and laughs you have given me. Hugs to you all! Sherry

Good Morning everyone, Sunday, Sunday, Sunday.....that means laundry, food shopping, more laundry, cleaning bathrooms (MY least favorite chore UGH) and I'm hoping to clean a closet. Hmmm been trying to get there mentally to do that one hahaha. See...we moved to this house in March 2005 after being in the previous house for 11 years. Ohhhh the accumulation of "stuff". Anyway, I still have a closet full of boxes I never unpacked (maybe that's where my cereal bowls and my calculator are lol) and there is a storage room down stairs FULL of stuff that needs to be put somewhere. Yeap....moved in March and things still aren't completely unpacked. Something tells me it won't be done by this March either hahaha. OH well....one step at a time. Cooking on Sunday for the week sounds like a great idea. It's like packing my lunch the night before. Why is it I just don't do it? Would save me alot of hassle during the week and the next day but, something in my brain says you really should get that done and the little lazy devil on my shoulder says Nah, put it off until you need it lol. Probably the same devil that says you don't need to eat your green Beans save room for the cookie. I need to knock that devil to the curb heh heh. I'm working on it! After Feb 13th, his butt will be beaten good Hugs all...have a great Sunday!

band removed but can't "keep" the band?
SherryW replied to dishdiva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's to the point where they are selling toast that has Jesus' face on it to surgical equipment to do it yourself tattoo needles etc. It's crazy and it's scarey to think who's buying it. Some idiot out there will probaby buy the lapiscopic equipment to go with it. Oh yes they are on there too. I really don't see why Ebay allows items that are suppose to be used by Licensed physicians, surgeons, tattoo artists etc to be sold to the general public. Not like the seller is going to do a back ground check of cridentials. UGH. So so very scarey. People......where ever you go make sure there is a valid license out there hanging on the wall if you're getting something done lol. Check for the fine writing on it too -
band removed but can't "keep" the band?
SherryW replied to dishdiva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What I'd like to know is...whooooo the heck is buying these bands and other surgical supplies on Ebay? Someone who's doing things they shouldn't with them or some back alley quack that thinks they can put them in? My God that is really scarey and just down right wrong! I highly doubt it's all any legitimate surgeon buying them knowing full well they'd be sued because they are either HOT or defective. Even a teaching hospital shouldn't use them. Where did these sellers get the stuff? Did the box fall off the truck lol. Seems any surgical items should not be allowed on Ebay. -
Not knowing where you live makes it hard for pricing because each area is so different. I just got married July 2, 2005 (Great Patriotic weekend for weddings I must say heh heh) and my photographer was awesome. She was visible to us while doing family and wedding party poses but, I barely knew she was there during the entire reception. She got such wonderful candid shots with no one specifically posing for them. I was amazed at how many shots she got of us walking around talking to our guests, dancing or private moments of whispering to each other. She got it all. AS a matter of fact....during the last dance is when I finally caught her aiming the camera at us hahaha. (She did tell me when she was close to getting all her shots and asked me if there was anything special I wanted to make sure she got. I thought that was great.) You can see her website at http://www.photographywithstyle.com/ Her package prices are great and she can mix and match items for you If you're in Mass or close...I'd give her a call Good Luck & Best wishes. If you need a hand with favors or other items, it's still fresh in my mind and I got great deals. Have you picked a theme for your wedding? Mine was, but of course...Patriotic Even our wedding rings have rubies (red), diamonds (white) and sapphires (blue)

Ditto here too DeLarla. I've learned alot...the good, the bad everything. It's nice to have all sides. You've truly helped us all. God Bless ya and Keep ya Hugs

Hey Everyone, Another boring day in Tauntonville...no margaritas for me lol. Just another day of work work work. I had an appointment with my PCP today but I cancelled it. Didn't feel like going sooo now I'm going tomorrow. dang nabbit why is it when I want to go I can't get an appointment and when i don't wanna they have them all open? Maybe I should change my name to Murphy ( as in Murphy's law? lol) It's cold and drizzly today but I did happen to notice that it was light at 5pm when I left work instead of dark. That's a good sign Caught my dog walking around the cover of the swimming pool when I got home. Brave soul she is...some day that ice won't be so strong and DS is going to be in big trouble for letting her out there without supervision grrrrrrrr. My mom made some nice kale Soup and let me have some. Doesn't food taste better when someone else makes it? hahaha. I think I'm getting the mindset to like soup. Kind of a good thing considering I'm going to be living on it for a while huh? Trying to get to the logical thinking about food so I don't blow this thing. I did good with the holiday...lost 5 pounds since Dec 4th (1st bariatric meeting) made the surgeon impressed yesterday but of course I still need to lose before surgery. I set my 2006 challenge to 10 pounds so I'm trying Hope you all have a great night! Hugs

You're definately in the right place for information. You can also do a google search for "lap-Band" and you'll get lots of info that way. Also, calling your local hospital or bariatric surgeon's office would help.

Thank you Debbydo for the info and I accept the challenge! I'm not banded but, since the surgeon would like to see 10 pounds gone for surgery this will be great. Since I'm not banded yet my goal is 10 pounds and to exercise at least 4 days a week. BRING IN ONNNNN sistas and brothas! (Oh my, where did that come from....God please help me ) -
Rabbits and Turtles United New Year Challenge
SherryW replied to It's me-Debbydo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Is there a minimum amount of weight you have to set your goal to? Not banded yet so I have no clue if I can lose more than 10 pounds in that amount of time. -
Howdy folks, Had a good day today ...just dang too busy to overeat hmmmm that's it I need to work more and close the books every day....NOT! NJ my stationary bike has a nice wide padded seat but, ya know it doesn't matter. The bones of my butt seem to hit that freakin thing like I"m sittin on a brick. DH does fine...now why is that? We ladies are built to hold extra layers because of child bearing and yet.....it hurts us and not a guy? Ya think there is padding to protect something else and it helps? hahaha. Just worked today, came home, ate wheat Pasta with very little sauce (don't want the sodium to keep the Water in me for my appointment tomorrow hahaha) cleaned up and got on here I think I'll head off soon and read some of my book...been reading "In A Million Pieces" one of the books on Oprah's list. Very interesting so far. Hope you all have a wonderful night...off to see the Surgeon tomorrow...keep your fingers crossed that I get a date soon. (Oh my PCP called wants me to come in....the surgeons office found something in my thyroid tests. Gee, ya think what I've been telling her finally has proof behind it? lol) Hugs Sherry

Hee hee hee I love that word "dreadmill" it's cracking me up but God I've said that so many times. Now lets see if someone comes up with one for a stationary bike. Man that thing just hurts my butt. Why is that? With all this extra padding all around me...why on Earth there is nothing where I sit on that seat? lol. I suppose as I keep going it will toughen up. Hey doc I may not be losing weight but Gosh Darnit my butt is tough hahahaha. Thanks everyone for understanding about what the m-i-l did to my DH and how it makes me feel. I don't even want to think about it anymore and I'm just happy that finally someone in his life and help him see what a great guy he is. We're very fortunate to have each other and we'll help each other get through our family's lack of commonsense. (Oh yes I have it on my side too hahaha Sometimes you just have to take a step back and let them do it to themselves ) How do you folks type such long reponses without being timed out? I tried 3 times today and gave up. I'd love to respond to each of you but I never have time on this thing hahaha. Hugs to you all and here is to the start of a new year and a new you One day at a time, one forkful at a time .......make sure that forkful isn't chocolate cake hee hee

Hello All, It's 11:04 pm and I just about an hour ago from upstate NY. My husband and I went up there this weekend to Celebrate a belated Christmas and of course New Years. We exchanged Christmas gifts with the family, have a great meal and enjoy each others company. We heard about all the gifts everyone got last weekend and the men seemed to be happy with the stainless steel coffee mugs they got from my m-i-l.....all by my husband that is. Every year since he was young she always forgot to give my husband one of his gifts. He'd get it in march or so when she found it. Well this year....he got NOTHING. We were at her house last night and we were discussing our gifts and how the kids loved theres and I asked him. Honey, what did you get from your mom I didn't see you open it....his eyes welled up. He had just realized he got nothing. His mom had given me a cookie jar and was so proud of her 75% off purchases that she bagged and gave us...all stuff we said we would stop eating as of Monday. OMG...we went to services this morning....and I started crying. Hearing this man sing Christmas Carols, shaking his mom's hand during the sign of peace.....knowing he's been forgotten again. The man that lives 6 hours away, that every time he goes there for a visit spends 1 full day to 2 full days doing chores for her, fixing this fixing that ...when his brothers live 20 min and 1 hour away yet do none of it  Yet he gets nothing. His father must of been screaming from heaven. (We lost dad this past August, I know dad wouldn't of forgotten him.) I'm still crying inside...knowing how much she has hurt my DH. I'm so glad I spoiled him with our first Christmas as Mr & Mrs. We talked about what happened on our way home and I told him....I'll always remember him and Always take care of him and that I was so sorry that his mom is the way she is. God....to see the tear roll down his cheek...this big, strong, teddy bear of mine. Anyway....that's why I haven't been around. Sorry for the sad story but I needed to get it off my chest. This is going to take a while to get over for sure. Especially since we spoiled his mom like crazy this year......I don't think I'll ever be able to do that again. Heres to a New Year! Wish me luck! On Wednesday I see the Surgeon Thanks again folks. HUGS to you all!

How often will you use the Chat room ?
SherryW replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
2bbandsirls....I check in there alot. It's new so not many have used it yet. One thing is there are 3 rooms there. One has a bot Alice...she's cute but, annoying and takes up alot of space and makes it hard to chat. Try one of the other rooms like Lap-Band lounge 2. She's not in there and the chatting is easier with out people when they are on. If you post a message like this as well it will show as a "new post" and people will likely read it and know you're in the chat and come join you. I'm hoping to be banded in January as well. Good luck! -
Hello All...I'm checking in as ReneBean ask lol. I'm so boring though all I did was work. Was on the road at 6:30 am to work, worked 7:30-6 got home at 6:45 see boooorrrrrring. I'm exhausted. Been putting in long days because the holiday time we've had off causes me to have less work days to get the reports I need done done. UGH. Now we'll have Monday off and we close the books on Tuesday so everything HAS to be done tomorrow. If they let us out early I'll never get it done. (Hmmm no win scituation here haha) After work tomorrow DH and I are headed for upstate NY to visit family and have a 2nd Christmas with them and celebrate New Years. Long drive from here it's about 6.5 hours. (Can you say YUCK YUCK YUCK?) I like visiting but, hate the drive. It will be good to see my in-laws again though Not much more to add here. Man....I need a life hahaha...or maybe a cookie from Betty? heh heh Take care all and thank you for making me feel at home in LBT. Hugssss
