Hmm was hoping these were a bit smaller but, I'm not having luck. This is why I am the size I am. Hubby and I got a kick out of this pic actually. We had a Patriotic Theme so our cake was white frosting, strawberries and blueberries...but of course lol
-
Ok so I haven't started doing those things that need to be done but, I finally got my scanner working so I kept playing hahaha. Hmmm now I pray these things are so big they wig out everyones computers. Lets see if this works...

Good Mornin Lovelies Yesterday after I got my hair done (same way borrrrrring) we took a ride to the pet store where we got my Jenny (golden retriever) to look at fish tanks. Well, we ended up taking home a 46 gallon bowed front tank, stand, filter etc. Its set up now in the livingroom and I'm loving it but, we don't have fish lol. Have to let the Water and tank settle and we can put some in today. So that's part of what I'm doing today...buying fishies. I like the neons of course! Cause to me they are red, white and blue...gotta have some Patriotic fishies ya know lol. Then it's to the store to return those boots and to Verizon for phones. Didn't do that yesterday. I was too busy walking back and forth from the sink to fill up my tank. Got my exercise that way 46 gallons with a one gallon and 2 quart pitcher takes many trips but, I was ok with it. I'm proud for not be exhausted lol. That's it...so time for Breakfast (sooo tired of eggs, too scared to eat cereal) then off to fight the crowds at the mall UGH. Did I ever tell you how much I HATE shopping? Unless it's a craft store or craft fair..I HATE it and only do it cause I have ta lol Bye for now.

NCottrell, I had that pain for about 4-5 weeks after my surgery. Call your surgeon and tell them what you're feeling. I can bet, if it's anything like mine was...just under your left ribs and beneath the incision that is where they do most of the work when putting the lap band in place. My surgeon and the NP told me thats where they have to tunnel in to and work to get the band around your stomach. It's the most worked area and your port is stitched in that area. If that area also has an indent compared to the rest of your tummy that is the same spot I'm talking about. Some people it goes away really fast others, like myself, it takes a good 5 weeks or so to completely feel like your old self in that spot. Definately take it easy when you move around, lift things etc. I did feel that "stitch" feeling if I ate a bit too much or too fast. Go slower and chew really well. Hope this helps! SherryW

Hey Eileen, Funny...we're going to be watching the same movie tonight! We just bought Narnia the other day and thought we'd save it for Saturday night with our son Hmmm I wish I could eat popcorn but, I'm afraid. I guess I'll have to work on some Soy chips....actually the barbeque ones are quite good and crunchy. Then I'll be getting some Protein as well...yea yea...that's what I'll do hhahaha. I have to run and get ready to have my hair done...then off to the shoe store to return workboots I bought for my son...because GOD FORBID I bought the wrong brand. UGH. Then going to battle with Verizon for new phones. They called me on the phone to renew my plan, I told them I needed new phones and was told I couldn't until late April. The lady on the phone said I could if I renewed and i'd get something in the mail but of course didn't. If they even tell me I can't get new phones until 2 aprils from now I'll go ballistic...hopefully I'm worrying for nothing BUT, we'll see lol Have a great day!

Makes you scratch your head...Bariatric centers with tables that can't hold more than 400 pounds? How about johnnys that are not big enough, regular hospital beds that aren't big enough, wheelchairs, regular chairs etc. I've seen it happen and the Johnny thing happened to me. I loved the Bariatric Center I was in but, the wing was new so they didn't have all the supplies they needed yet. You bet your uncovered bottom, on my survey at the surgeons I told them they needed to get items for us bigger folks so we can feel comfortable and walk around like required, with dignity instead of cold butts lol. (Thank goodness a friend who had the surgery a week earlier warned me to bring my own bathrobe ) I can't blame you for being upset at all! I wish you the best in finding a center closer to you

Oooooo that needle looks big lol. Sooo glad you looked so calm. I'm getting my first fill next week so at least I know it's fast. Why does the doc push the saline in then let it rise back up in the needle, then push back in etc? They can't just put the saline in and that's that?

Dannnnnnng my skanner isn't working right and even hubby got mad with it. Time to shut it down and put it to rest for a day or two. Hopefully I'll be able to scan some soon. In the meantime I changed my avatar to a pic of me. Now I took that a few years ago...probably about 25 pounds ago but, I'm on my way there again. And to think I thought I was huge then. oh my. Anywho....I'll keep trying. It's not 12:16 am..what the heck am I doing up? Hmmm maybe cause hubby is snoooooooooring so loud I'm trying to get exhausted before I hit the sack hahaha. Gonna surf and play some more. see ya
-
Cookin? me....mua?...cook? Oh my do you want to live? hee hee just kidding but, kinda sorta not really hahaha. I can cook when I have to but, hubby really likes to cook. I'm more of a baker and since I'm not suppose to eat that stuff I haven't baked in sooooooo long I believe we're having turkey for Easter cause me and pig products lol aren't getting along. EVERY time I eat pork it gets stuck so ham is pig too and I don't wanna try it yet lol. Just came back from going out to eat. I'm always so afraid to eat out now. They didn't have Soup I liked and sometimes salad just isn't appealing so of course I had the next diet choice. Nachos and chicken wings. Oh yea..can you say...YOU NEED A FILL! lol I did well, I didn't finish them but, I still should of figured something else out. I just get so dang tired of the same old things. Could of pick something worse too I'm sure. Ann - my hubby has an office in our home as his home base but, he just recently hooked up with friends that have a business in a town not far from here and he has an office there. They are called Home Genius...they do home entertainment centers, home theaters, cabinets and central entertainment (whole house CD players, speakers, computers)etc. The newest trend is running everything in your home from a central computer. Hubby is learning about that so he can train the home owner and so they can repair them and set them up. He also works on business networks and he started a maintenance plan with clients where he VPNs in at night and debugs, cleans, checks for spyware and viruses while the clients businesses are closed. He does that from out couch while we watch American Idol or some other show and still gets to charge them for it. It helps the businesses run smoothly and they don't lose time because he does it while they are closed for business. It's pretty neat but, I don't know how it all works lol. I just say HOOONNNNNNNNEY my stupid computer is running slow and he fixes it lol. Well....I tried on a few shirts that I had bought about a year ago. You know the story, I bought my size but they run small so I couldn't wear them and didn't bring them back. YEap they still have the tags on em. Well..they fit now but, they're clinging to my spare tire a little more than I want. I could truly get away with wearing them but, I think I'll wait until the tire starts a slow leak and gets flatter ssssssssssssss hahaha TGIF, home, comfy, going to watch America's Funniest Videos tonight. I can use a good laugh I'm going to get my hair done tomorrow. I'm so stinkin boring. I wish I could come up with something different to do with it but, I end up just doing the same thing. BOOOOOOOOOOOOORING. I'll try to scan a pic or two and post the wedding pics if I can. Love yas and have a great weekend!

Good Morning Beautiful, Sexy, Friendly, Funny, Supportive, Wonderful, People, Quite the week for sure and I'm pooped! A woman's work is never done is it It's truly amazing how we keep it all together no matter what is dished out and we're right there for each other to clean up the plate. heh heh Kelly - I've been there. I did know he was quitting but, it was still truly scarey for me for him to quit without having another job in it's place before he did it. My DH, fiance at the time, was in business with two other guys that promised him a partnership. He was with them a little over 3 years and it never happened and they were taking full advantage of him. It was crazy. He finally couldn't take it anymore and told me he was going to quit. We looked around for other jobs, posted his resume on Monster etc. No luck...then one day he'd had enough. He has already warned them to give him what he promised but, nothing happened. So he called me one Friday and said we'll it's done I quit. They have the keys and cell phone and he had cleared out his desk. Now...mind you I wanted to plan this so his "personal" customers would follow him but, nope it was done before I could get the word out UGH. Needless to say the next week he spent it calling them all and explaining he was on his own. It was definately a rough 2 months and summer because no one was breaking their computers in the summer but, when school was back he was back in business. It all worked out. Things got tight...but it worked out. One door never closes without another opening and I believe that with all my heart. Sometimes it takes something to remind me of it but, I get there What type of work does your hubby do? You never know if someone here knows someone who's hiring right? :scared: Donna - I hope you're having the time of your life with you boys and family. You go Girl! Cindy - WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOo congrats on the 18. That's fantastic! I can't even remember when I fit in those. I think that is one size I DON'T have in the back of my closet. I just recently went down from my 26s to 24s and thought that was great but, 18....ohhhhhh I hope I can get there someday. Congratulations. Great job! :clap2: Patty - Sounds like you're on your way! That's great and I'm still sending positive vibes your way for it to go smoothly and you to get your list of band things done so you can get a date. Eileen - I miss my funny sound makin gal. I hope all goes well with the inspections and you can come back out and play again. I miss ya my friend Betty - It truly is amazing how quickly one can get lost in here and behind on all the posts isn't it? I hope you're able to take a breather from work at both work and home and get some Betty time soon. I'm studying up for my motorcycle permit test..going to take that on the 12th..same day as my fill. Yikes! Darcy - I was thinking of doing highlights in my hair again I bet yours look nice. As far as gaining some back....isn't it just freaking amazing how our bodies decide to sneak the weight back on sometimes? I mean....I know for myself....I didn't cheat, I exercised and didn't take in any extra cals and my body added 3 pounds UGH. I think I actually wasn't eating enough. I've lost all but one of those but man when it goes off I'd love it to say off hahaha. I know wishful thinking huh? Oh well a gal can dream! Wavin at Ivan :usa2: Don't get to see you much but, always at the right time Hope all is well. Well...this advanced thing won't let me go any farther so thats telling me to finish up hahaha. Hey....Where is Pat? PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? youuuuuuuu whoooooooo PAT.....are you ok girl? You have me worried...sink a few letters out here so we know you're ok. Everyone else that I may of missed....I miss ya and hope you're doing well too. Keep on shrinkin on folks! Love ya and TGIF wahoooooey SherryW

-
Hi Kay, use your search button and look up key words to your questions. You'll find lots of information here. I had the lap-band surgery on 2/13/06 and I need to lose 130 if that helps you. I've lost 25 pounds so far so I'm happy with my choice so far.

I think you should contact a moderator. Isn't there a link for it and give them the link to the thread. They can peek at it and decide to actually remove his posting. Sherry

wow been a while since I got anything from this group thought I lost it lol. I hope this posting is finding everyone well and shrinking :ban: I get my first fill on 4/12 wahooo can't wait. I definately need it!
-
Tammy - Thank you for sharing that poem. Man it's exactly how I've felt for a long time. I am truly thankful for my band and I'll be even more thankful when I get my first fill on 4/12. Janet & Mikey - Thank you very much for the inspiration and kind words always. You folks definately shine a light on ones soul. I think it's great! Isn't it great to have each other to help when one is down or to celebrate when something good happens? My hubby is the same way although he's not banded. He's been so supportive and helpful through this whole process. Including understanding his wife being in LBT so much hahaha. He cooks me a one egg omelet every morning and makes sure I take water to work and my vitamin. He asks me what I want him to make me for dinner :ban: I'm a very lucky gal. Congratulations to you two for supporting each other so much  Everyone else.....You're all doing so well. You've all helped each other in one way or another. I think it's great! I'm here to support you as well. This is a great group of folks and I"m so happy to be part of it. Hope you're all doing well and shrinking  Hugs

Randy, BCBS has reasonable people to help their members out. Give BCBS member services a call...the number is on your BCBS card. You should be receiving an explanation of benefits from BCBS...sounds like you already have if you know what they are paying. I can tell you for sure that BCBS definately contracts with the hospitals and also has separate contracts with physicians and physicians groups. They most certainly negotiate rates of what they will and will not pay. Some patient's plans differ though and that will cause some fluctuation in payments but, the hospitals and physicians are TOLD by BCBS what they can and cannot charge a patient for on the copies of their EOBs when BCBS pays on claims. If you do get a bill from the hospital, closely match it with your EOB from BCBS. If you think the hospital is charging you more than what your EOB states you need to pay..CALL the # on your bill from the hospital/doc etc. Tell them you have your BCBS EOB in hand. You can also, get a BCBS rep on the phone with you as a conference call to the billing office. All you have to do is call BCBS, tell them about the bill and they will call the billing office with you on the same line. Happens all the time. BCBS will fight that bill for you. Believe me.....the billing office doesn't want to tick off BCBS because an audit is just unbearable lol. Sometimes diagnosis codes (Known as ICD-9 codes or signs and symptoms) will throw payment off as well. Some patients plans of BCBS will only cover certain codes etc. If you received authorization for the procedure to be done and the referrals you needed then the highest your bill should be would be for any deductibles and co-insurance amounts that would be indicated on your plan. I highly doubt you'd be responsible for the remaining $40,000. I have an HMO plan called Tufts Liberty. My plan has a deductible of $1200 for two people. Needless to say with all the pre-op work that went by really fast lol. I owe nothing more. Every patient's plan is different with every insurance as far as that goes. My surgeon takes my insurance but, he also indicated my insurance is one of the cheapest paying ones and he has to adjust the rest off He already knew that before I had the surgery. Definately DO NOT start paying on any bill received until you match it with an EOB from BCBS. Believe me.....it's not easy to get your money back if you overpaid or paid for something you didn't have to. I've been doing medical billing now for over 18 years and definately know rates for all Major insurance carriers and HMOs/PPOs are negotiated. In order for that doc or hospital to say they accept those insurances they've already gone through the credentialling and signing of a contract with the insurance carriers before they can serve the patients. Good luck with all of this and if you need help with understanding any of this or would like some help contacting BCBS etc. Send me a PM. I wouldn't mind giving you and your wife a hand at all. Hugs Sherry

Howdy Gals! I hope this finds you all well and shrinking hee hee Hmmm lets try some personals Eilene - Work must really have you tied down. I miss your noises and your sense of humor :scared: Cindy - I hope you made out ok at the docs today. Do let us know how you're doing. I hope your migraine has dulled some more. Man, those are just no fun. They totally stop me in my tracks. Wishing you well :sick Rene - How the heck is your fill working for you? I can't get mine until next week. UGH. The fishing convention was actually fun. It was one way of getting some walking in that's for sure heh heh. Do you like to go fishin? I don't mind it but, hate it when I'm stuck on the boat for more than 4 hours. My DH kidnaps me sometimes lol. Not like I can turn the boat around or jump off and swim to shore lol. Hmmm now that's a thought..maybe I'd lose more weight then? Nah.....being shark bait just turns me off hahaha Kelly - Whats a faux riblet? You have me curious now lol Patty - Hope your informational meeting went well and that you learned some new things you can use. Sorry about the bounced check..ugh that stinks. If he works maybe you should attached to his payroll check and have the state pay you instead? My DH's ex wife did that and cripe we were always early with the payments. grrrrrrrrr they don't even tell ya around here they're going to do it. The next thing you see is a smaller paycheck. Betty - YIKEs! No wonder you're tired. You did a lot of work this past weekend girl! Polishing up the Bike aye? Hmm I'm already getting nervous about the classes hahaha. I just found out they're going to have me on the bike the first day BEFORE I even get any classroom training. Geesh Louise I'm nervous now. Hmmm I have to get my permit first and this other thingy that lets the School give me my license test instead of the registry. Dianne - thanks for you words. I really do need to look in the mirror and ask God to show me what he sees. But ummm I still hate full length mirrors lol. Anne - I was married July 2, 2005. We had a red/white/blue themed wedding down to the wedding cake with strawberries and blueberries. We had so much fun. I'll have to scan some pictures...I tried to get the pics on disc but I asked too late UGH Donna - Did you find your lost posts? I'm praying this one doesn't fly off on me lol. Everyone else I may of missed...it's because this advanced thing only works so far back hahaha. Waving HELLO to you all! Hugs!
-
Hmm so the advanced reply isn't working so I'm on my own here Already I'm not going to do well with my replies...won't be able to do personals for sure hahaha Eilene - Congrats on the pool. We have an above ground too and I love it. I love the term Chunkin Dunkin hahahah I need to have my hubby shoot out the street light so we'll have some privacy hahaha. Definately is different with a bathing suit versus no bathing suit hahaha. The girls just love it cept they kept punchin me in the chin hahaha Pat...I do hope you're feeling better. Seems that same bug is flying around here in Mass too. I had 3 employees all go home sick last week. UGH. Cindy....Ohhh dear I suffer from migraines too and they just aren't pretty. I hate how it totally immobilizes you sometimes. I've used Excedrin in the past but we're not suppose to now. I did have to ask my surgeon if I could take it because after two days with it I had to do something. I didn't want to lose yet another day out of work. They told me I could take it but drink lots and lots of Water. It ended up dulling my migraine enough to a bad headache but, then my stomach felt sick. UGH. I do hope your doc can give you something to help you. I have heard that pinching the skin between your thumb and forefinger helps but, it didn't help me that much. Usually I end up at the chiro too. She had to adjust my neck again. Yesterday was a fun day. I went to the New England Fishing Convention with my hubby at the RI Convention Center. We were there for about 3 hours. He had fun shopping of course and I had fun people watching hahaha. Ohhh baby there were booths with are handsome military folks in them...hubba hubba. lmao My friend Donna went with us..she is a hot ticket. She whispered in my ear while looking at them....Baby is that a lure in your pocket or are you happy to see me hahaha. She was a riot and hubby said to her THATS not what you were thinking you were thinking! lol Too funny. I just loved seeing my husband having fun and enjoying himself. I think it's great that we both do things like this for each other. He'll even go to Craft Fairs or stores for me but, he'll let me know he's had enough versus me keeping my mouth closed and enjoying him enjoying his time. Eh....I just tell him he can wait in the car if he wants cause I'm not done looking hahaha. Usually I find him snoring in the car lol After the fishing show we came home and Donna showed us our wedding pictures. FINALLY we have them back. She was worried about the large picture because when they took out the "sparkle" from my crystal necklace she felt they blurred the picture a bit in that area to do it. I didn't think it was noticable enough to have to worry about. Hell...who's going to look that closely at the dang thing lol. I will have to scan some of the pics though. ONE THING....I kinda felt proud of myself. Although I've stopped losing weight at 22 pounds (yeap freaking 3 pounds came back even though I haven't cheated grrrr cept I'm not changing my ticker. I refuse to lol Let it lie to me and I promise to believe lol)..anyway I looked at my wedding pictures and though OMG Girl you have lost weight or shifted it lol. As much as I loved that wedding day and enjoyed it totally...I hate the pictures because to me I'm a blob. I hate seeing how big I am there when I just don't feel that big. I'm a slimmer person stuck in a fat body...help help ! lol Anyone else feel like that? Like....you really don't realize how big you are because you do so much and move ok etc but, then you catch yourself in the reflective doors at a mall or shop window and thing HOLY HELL what happened? So sad. Well...after all that I watched the movie DH and I rented from On Demand with my friend Donna. "Just like heaven" OMG It was great even the 2nd time around. I highly recommend it. DH has was snoring so he didn't mind us watching it lol. When he woke up we rented the movie "Mr & Mrs Smith" that was really good too but definately NOT a kids flick. Lots of killing for no reason given. Good plot though. Oh well I've kept ya busy enough with the reading. Off to do laundry, chores and probably a trip to Walmart for weekly things. Maybe I can come back tonight and catch up again lol Hugs to you all and Happy Sunday!

Dang nabbit so I really didn't get up early today hahaha

Hello Everyone....I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I peek in and read the postings but, just haven't been up to writing. Emotions go back and forth and ...well...today wasn't a good day. Hopped on the scale and found out that 3 pounds came back and I haven't cheated, I haven't had anything I shouldn't including bread, pasta and rice that they haven't allowed me to have yet. It's the usual game my body plays on me when I'm on a diet. It's so discouraging. I know....I know I've done well since I've been banded but, to see pounds come back on with no reasoning gets me going. I try to think positive in that...now that I"m banded I can't blow it like I used to and gain it all back but, I think you all know what I mean. I'm so afraid that what I've lost so far is ALL I'm going to lose. I"ve been going to Curves too. The only thing I can think of is maybe I'm NOT eating enough? If that makes sense. Maybe my body is shutting down the metabolism because it thinks it's starving. Sooo I'm going to keep on keeping on and pray something gives here. I'm seeing the doc and nutritonist on April 12th. Hopefully that will be my 1st fill and the nutritionist will be able to help me figure out what the heck is going on. I'm going to start my food log again. Sooo...what do you all use to keep track of your calories, protein and water? You've all been great and supportive with each other in your posts and I hope I can become a support for you all as well. HOpefully I'll be able to keep up with you all in your postings lol. Some of you are quite quick Have a great Friday night and Saturday morning. I won't stay away so long this time Hugs

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Very well put Jack and ohhh so true. Doesn't matter what forum, but people do forget we're all here for the same "common" reason We have a spare tire that needs a flat
-
Congrats on everyone's fills. Hope you're all doing well...it sounds like you are. I don't get my first one until April 12th. I've been getting kinda hungry between meals so I'm looking forward to that restriction again. Good news though....the scale finally moved 3 pounds down after 3.5 weeks. I know they say the first 8 weeks is for healing and not losing but, I wanna lose dang nabbit hahaha. Down 25 pounds now I hope everyone has a great weekend!
