Hello my friends, Dropping in for some hellos then hit the sack cause I gotta get up early. Going to Laconia Bike week in NH tomorrow. Gotta be at my aunt and uncles at 6am UGH. They live about 40 min away so I have to get up like I was going to work lol. Oh well. I'll be breaking in my arrrrs on the bike. The ride is going to take about 3 hours they tell me. Oh my...hope I'm up to this. Good thing the seat is a comfy one. Then on Sunday, Father's day, I'm having friends over for a cookout and some pool time. Suppose to be in the 90's here Sunday...so we'll see After all I live and New England and the weather changes in a minute. Cindy - Oh believe me I'm far from the perfect bandster...thats why when my doc said I was the poster child for banding I confessed to the handfuls of chips hahaha. Told they go down reallllllllllllllll smooth lol. He said "ok you've tarnished it" lol I said nope that's reality doc, if I tell myself I can't have em I'll eat the whole damn bag but, if I allow myself to have them once in a while a handful will do One day at a time is how I'm taking it and if I want a piece of chocolate, by golly I'm having it. I just make sure it's worth it....not junky, not worth it chocolate lol. Fortunately seeing the weight come off makes me not want it often. You're doing so very well yourself! Congrats on the shrinking :clap2: Now that VBS is over I hope you can relax a bit before the next project. Eileen - I just love your DD stories. You are a cutey patooty and you always make me smile. I'm like you, the needle didn't bother me it's the sucking out the saline and pushin it back in that I thought felt funny. Oh and when they take the needle out and your belly jiggles funny and you hear a funny noise. Can't even describe that sound but, it made me laugh. Anne - Oh my 7 kiddos. Holy daycare batman :bandit . Do you have kiddy games planned or something? Ages close enough that they all play together? God Bless you girl :Banane10: Patty - That's good news on the approval for the consult. Another hurdle met...you're getting there my friend. It will happen when the time is right for you :Banane09: Bean - Yardwork...hmmm can I hire you and DH to do my yard? Oh I'd love to have the flowers and gardens I've seen pics of here. I tried to get Betty and Pat to come visit Mass..you wanna come along too hee hee. We'll have a garden party cept......I stink at gardening so I'll have to provide the refreshments hee hee I'd send you some of this rain if I could because we certainly don't need it. Our rivers are overflowing, homes have water in the basements and there is just water everywhere. It dried up some today though. Mary - Bloodwork bothers you? Ihave a friend like that as well and she's looking into lapband now :Banane23: I told her she's going to have to put up with the needles for fills and bloodwork. She's still interested. I have terrible veins for them to use too. They roll or are so thin they have a hard time. I've had to have it taken from my hand a few times because they couldn't get a good one. YUCK. At BIDMC where I had my surgery...the lab has been great. I've had the same guy two times already and he's got a great aim hahaha. I tried to donate blood once I got turned away the next time they got me but, had to knead the bag to keep it coming. Took longer than other people but, I gave it. I have AB+ blood so it's rare and in need most of the time. Randi - Surgery is around the corner for you. I hope you've learned alot from our little group here and the LBT boards in general. I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery. Darcy - Did you have a good time at the picnic? I haven't been on one in ages. How are the palpitations today? I hope that gets better. Thinking of you. Betty - I hope you take it easy this weekend. Hope your headache and back are better too. Slow down girl......take a deep breath....ride your bike to Massachusetts heh heh. :Banane36: Pat - You doing ok? They keeping you tied down behind that desk? Come out and play girl...I miss ya and your witty replies heh heh I hope all is well. Kat - I'm thinking of you and your DH. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Well....it's now 10:46pm and I better hit the sack. Have to go check on the Freecycle group I run here in Taunton,MA and try to :notagree . Aint gonna happen when I want it to. I can feel a night of restlessness coming UGH. If you haven't checked it out in your area....go to www.freecycle.org Great place to help you recycle good items you no longer need but, someone else may be able to use. It keeps things out of the landfills. Doesn't matter how small the item is...for instance tonight I offered some decorative muffin paper liners and a local church is picking them up. I just gave away a looney tune backpack, some shoes I bought for my wedding but, never used, some ink cartridges for an old printer I no longer have etc. No use to me but, was for those folks. Give it a whirl :Banane47: Hugs Sherry

I can't eat until 10am. Usually I have a Med decaf ice coffee lite with equal. Then at 10am I have a one egg omelet made with about 1/4 cup shredded cheese. That's during the work week cause DH makes me the omelet to take with me. On weekends I have one egg sunny side up with turkey sausage. Sometimes my band will let me get a small amount of wheat toast in.

Hey everyone, just peeking in to say hello. Betty have you seen a chiropractor for your back. I know I'm due for an adjustment myself. I'm starting to feel it in my shoulder which usually means my back is out more than I thought. Went to the Surgeon's office today for my 4 month checkup. He said I'm a perfect bander story so far...that is until I told him I sometimes will take a handful of low salt chips lol. Oh well no one is perfect. I didn't end up getting a fill because he said I'm doing well with what I have in my band now. So between the surgeon, my DH, help from friends here and my own thoughts...I went without a tweaking. Of course I did the fasting today for the bloodwork at 2. I was doing good drinking water so it kept the hungry horrors away but, ohhhhh baby I needed to eat as soon as the 7th tube was taken lol. Dang it was alot of bloodwork and of course these veins don't wanna work so they had to play with the needle. oooooch but, we got 'er done! lol I hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to have to do personals another time since it's so late and I'm seeing cross eyed. Sweet dreams everyone!

Hey Darcy I love the hair....man it looks like it's going to be easy to take care of too. I'm in that middle of hairstyles stage..HATE IT lol Don't know what to do with it. When I see people get cuts like yours I sooo want my hair short Well....I just got back from my DH's softball game. We rode the new motorcycle there and back. Niiiiiiiiiiiice heh heh. Now it's really late and I'm just eating dinner....UGH. Last meal because I have to fast all freakin day tomorrow until 2:30 because I have to do this bloodwork. Going to be a LOOOONG day for sure UGH. Hope everyone is doing well..and shrinking hee hee. (getting to be my trademark sign-off )

Hi Donna....sounds like if she only pulled out .5 and only put in .5 then you have 1 in. You should call your doc and see if she put in the 2 plus .5. Doesn't sound that way though from what you're describing. Myself...I'm still debating wether or not to tweak mine tomorrow. Hubby says no....I guess I'm a stubborn girl and afraid I'll put on weight on my cruise next month if I don't tighten this thing. Problem is I'm still pbing and more at least once a week. It's my own stupidity of course...too big of a bite or not chewing well. I'm still ticked about the bloodwork thing.....stayed home today to try to get some clearing and cleaning done. So far the linen closet is done and some clothes. Gotta get back to it or I'll never do it lol. Then I'll be kicking myself. Talk to you soon Hugs

Can't say enough about BIDMC but, you are very smart in checking out all options Chris. Glad to see you're doing your research Never a bad thing to do and that way you'll never regret whatever decision you made because you would of made it well educated. You know I'm here for ya. Isn't this a great website? We're very fortunate to have it and all the shared information good and bad. Hope you all are doing well and shrinking!

Hello my friends....I'm here...been here....kinda pop in, read, pop out. In a funk this Monday for sure. I was debating whether or not to go to work but, being the good doobie I went. Had a nice (sarcasticly said) hour long meeting today and announced after it to my boss I needed a mental health day lol. Well I'm taking that tomorrow. DH will be a work, DS will be in school and I'm taking it off. I think I've figured out....I need to get rid of alot of this clutter in my life. Work is nuts..and it's not going to get better for quite sometime, it's actually going to get worse with new docs coming aboard in July and I heard today even more in September. My lapband friend that goes to the same doc asked me today if I had my bloodwork done. What bloodwork? Grrrr they never gave me the order for it when I was there last because they were running late and my nutrionist visit was combined with someone elses who was newer to banding. So I never got my paperwork hence never had it done. (not a good day today) I also was told of a BIG error today that we're probably going to have to spend the rest of the week fixing....see where I'm feeling da funk? So I talked to my boss and I'm taking tomorrow off and my plan is to declutter my home...at least my bedroom and office if I can. I can't turn on the TV at all because I'll get lost in it. I'll put on some nice CDs and rock around picking stuff up and trashing other stuff. So much that I just don't need. I've felt out of control with this stuff since I moved here a year ago. Heck, I still have boxes I haven't unpacked.:faint: Soooo in order to clear my chakras so I can have that inner peace...I need to clear my world. I highly doubt I'll accomplish this in a day but, I'm going to try to hit at least the two rooms. Of course none of this can happen until I go to the lab to have this bloodwork done and I dont' even know if they'll accept this faxed order copy. UGH. oh well....I have to try. Sorry didn't mean to be a bummer....just didn't want you to think I was ignoring the group. I love you folks and don't know what I'd do without ya. Soooo it's a beautiful sunny day here for a change in Mass. Man we had rain almost everyday for a month now. One or two sunny peaks in there but, this is the first FULL day of nice weather in so long I can't even remember lol. I hope all is going well for you folks and I'll try to do personals later on tonight. Hugs to you!

use GasX for the "wind" problem. You probably still have gas from the surgery inside you and that is also passing.
-
I did too...Thank you

SherryW replied to HunnyBun's topic in The Lounge
lol cracks me up. Some of the responses are hilarious and yet informative. Thanks gals and guys for making me smile. Nice to know you're not alone in pleasing your partner aye? And if you're only doing this with your partner and it only give you 5 maybe 10 calories why the heck wouldn't you take the Protein lol. Great information but, I wouldn't think anyone would do this as their primary source of protein, band or no band a woman can't make it on semen alone hahaha -
Good morning everyone! I hope you're all doing well and shrinking Boy it sure has been rainy in the Northeast. My pool is overflowing, the river is ready to overflow and has in some areas (thank goodness I don't live near right near it) and the ground is as soggy as can be. So many people now have ponds in their yards. I'm looking forward to some sunny days...they say around here that won't happen until late Sunday or Monday. Woke up with a doozy of a headache, hopefully drinking some fluids will help. Haven't been able to eat breakfast yet...band is too picky this early in the morning. Plus Aunt Flo really keeps my band finicky. Hopefully it will go away soon...this is a Son and Me day today. DH's brother came down from NY to go fishing so they were off and floating:fish2: at 6:30 am this morning. Son is still sleepin so I'm going to have to wake his butt up so we can get our day going. He was extra lovey yesterday hmmm wonder what he'll hit me up for today. hahahaha I haven't had a son and me day in a long time. I'm really looking forward to it. Eileen - sounds like you just nailed whats wrong with your daughter. My son also saw his doc when he was around that age and it was growing pains for him as well. He had most of his pain in his knees, thighs and shins. They certainly keep us hopping don't they . Amazing how wonderful their hugs are though My son actually was quite lovey yesterday with is hugs and telling me he loves me...man this is going to cost me hahahaha Kat - Just want you to know you and your DH are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending positive, healing thoughts your way. Darcy - I hope you're feeling better today. Is it a cold or alergies? My mom has one heck of a cold that she then passed on to my DH. I've got my fingers crossed that I don't catch it. I hope you're feeling better soon! Anne - Sorry to hear about your port. You have such a good attitude about all this stuff. God bless you. I hope it all goes well for you. Are you feeling ok even though that has happened? Does it effect your band that you can notice? Cindy - Hey to you too Sounds like you're enjoying your time off and that's great! Sharing the meal with your friend I bet was a nice help too. I do that with DH now when we go out and he's losing weight because of that too. Congrats on the continued weight loss :clap2: Diane - Smart thinking getting back to your regular schedule after a day that went wrong food wise. That's awesome that you could get right back on track. You should be very proud of yourself for that Mary - I love that dress! We went to King Richard's Faire last year and I was so tempted to buy myself a dress. Now I'm even more TEMPTED than last year because I've lost weight so feeling a bit more confident with showing some skin hahaha. I actually like the dresses that show a bit of boobage. :shade: Are you going to get a flower ring for your head? I think it would look awesome with that dress. If you're crafty making one yourself would save alot of money. man they charge alot for those things at the fairs. Patty - Awwww I'm sorry you're having to wait so long for your approval. It sure is frustrating but, it will happen my friend. Think positive thoughts about it. Your Docs nurse/secretary needs an atittude change. She shouldn't be working for a physician if she has no compassion. Definately make sure your doc is aware this person isn't treating you nicely. You'll be on the bande side soon...I just know it! Becky - How's it going with the fitday.com use? I started to use it but, I never get back in there. I think I've started that 4 times already lol. my bad. I hope things are going well. Donna - The pain gone now? I certainly hope so. Hope all is going well for you. PattiU - Welcome! Betty, Pat - Miss you gals.....how's it going? Can you two come visit Taunton, MA and give me some lessons in gardening? I'll show ya the Christmas Tree Shop and other cool shops here and bring ya fishin? Good Trade? hahaha Hope you're doing well. Bean - How's it going? Fill time yet? I can't remember the day you said you were going. If you went I hope it went well....if you're going...I'm wishing you the best. I go this coming Wednesday. I think I am going to have him tweek it a bit maybe .25cc because I'm feeling I can eat more...after noon time that is...than I want and it will only become easier as time goes by. Being on a cruise....I kinda don't want to have a free for all week on that thing. Too much food to choose from..keeping me tweeked will keep me from overdoing it onboard I think. Hmmm still contemplating that. Well I've really done a long post here. So many peeps to personalize and this thing only lets you go so far but, if I missed ya it's only in personal postings...you're always in my thoughts. Hugs to you all and have a GREAT weekend!

Newly Banded from Boston
SherryW replied to Babytaffah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
babytaffah, I also had my surgery with Dr. Jones at BIDMC. Great place and great folks to work with. Your hunger will come back as you heal but then you'll have days where it will feel tight again too. Just do what the nutrionists tell you to do and you'll do just fine. You must be headed back for your two/three week checkup soon and make sure to let them know how you're feeling. I believe, if you're course of healing goes like mine, that you'll be allowed to eat mushies after you visit. That is a big help believe me. Make sure to go slow and chew well. Congrats on your surgery and I wish you a speedy recovery! Sherry -
That was slime. It comes up from your esphogus and can come up so slowly you think it's your mouth watering.

Anne good luck tomorrow with your fill Sending good luck vibes for just "one poke" HUGS

Feel like I am killing myself from the inside out
SherryW replied to LJBravado's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Feel like I am killing myself from the inside out that quote alone tells me you already know you should get an unfill. You want to lose weight but, you really don't want to lose it this way. Life should be enjoyable not tolerable pain....your weight loss should be slow. You don't want to lose muscle mass you need to get the Protein in. All the info in the previous reponses have been totally honest and reasonable. If I was feeling the way you are, I'd definately get an unfill. I'm scheduled for a fill next week and think I'm going to pass because there are still days I get that golfball and some that I've thrown up. I want to lose but, I also know I'm in this for the long haul...I don't want anything to happen to my stomach because the band is too tight around it. Pain, even if slight, is a sign something isn't right....you should call your doc or bariatric center and let them know what's going on. -
Hi Kat, To shrink your pics....well, what I do is go to my pictures I have on my computer. Right click on one and click Resize Picture, Then I choose the small or medium size and click ok. The computer renames my pic with the same name and then (small) or (Medium) in parens. That's one way..another way is if you have a program on your computer that is especially for pictures. I have that but find the right click, resize pic to work the best for me. Thanks everyone for the compliments on my DS. He doesn't think much of himself sometimes as far as looks. Of course he's usually in black jeans, black workboots, black tshirt lol. I MADE HIM wear that sweater to the wedding and TOLD him to smile (heck his braces just came off show that smile babe!). When he saw the picture he actually smiled. I told him he certainly looks older and handsome in that pic. Mamma knows best hahaha. He just laughed and said yea yea yea and put his tshirts, jeans and boots back on hahaha. Of course he asked me to send him a copy of it so he could show the chicks lol. Gotta love him So I'm still thinking no fill for me on the 14th. I've been doing so much better but, once in a while something still gets stuck. Not too sure I want this thing any tighter, especially with my first cruise coming up in July. Don't need to be out there chocking on a golfball. How are all the children that were sick doing today? I hope they are feeling well. I feel aweful when kiddies are sick. Are we going to make a separate thread for pics for our group or do we still post them here? I'm still kinda chicken about posting before and after pics because I feel I still have a long way to go. Kinda afraid to look at myself, I'm afraid I won't see a difference. Anyone else like that? Well I have to get ready for work...this might be why I run late in the mornings, ya think? You folks are so addicting lol. Hmmm better to substitute my friends here than an ice cream or chocolate huh? hee hee You folks are sweet enough for me
-
Betty I love the goldfishies :girl_hug: Such a beautiful yard and home! What a peaceful day it must be by the pool
-
This pic was taken just out of Swansea Bay. There was a cigarette boat race going on and they were taking pics from a helicopter of all the boats out there. We peeked at the website and saw ours. Geesh I think $80 for an 8x10 shot was rediculous so I just highjacked the samples. They have the company's name on them but, that's ok lol.
-
hee hee cute pic of the racoon Betty. We have squirrels that do acrobats to get at the birdseed. Drives my dog insane lol
-
Latest pic of my son :girl_hug: Proud mama lol
-
Similar pic of the motorcycle we just bought. We'll pick it up on Monday.
-
OMG I think a bunch of us were posting all at the same time...no pics before I clicked send hahaha. Betty...your home and yard are BEAUTIFUL! Im soooo jealous. Can I hire you? hee hee I SO don't have a green thumb but, my golly you are such an inspiration! Ohhh I wish my yard looked like that. The lawn is getting green but, man I need some work on the plants and I don't even know where to start. Any good books I can pick up or that you recommend? Picture thread would be fun Eileen. Do we just add them here in our regular postings? DH is in the process of cleaning the filter again on our tank...man I hope it clears things up. Tanks are suppose to be relaxing lol....can't relax knowing the fish are swimming in green Water hahaha. Hmmm I'll see if I can find a pics to share here :girl_hug: DH and my friend Donna think I should show my before and after pic but, ......do you think it's silly....I still HATE how I look? I know I've lost and I've shrunk but, I'm not ready for after pics yet lol. My before pics definately won't be up there until I've made significant progress lol
-
Goooooooooooooooood Mornin everyone! Mary - Ohhh I don't think I'll be having more than one bike in the end. The bike we bought yesterday is more hubbys than mine. It's way too big for me to drive myself. He's going to be selling his bike that he had already. Ketchup for a meal aye? heh heh kids are funny. As far as your son wanting to talk about living with his father...how old are your children? I know my son was 11 at the time of our divorce and seeing his father going through a rough time of it he wanted to keep him company. I've always been one to be stronger and protect him but, I could see he was torn between what to do and in a sense he wanted to make us both feel better. On my end...his father just wasn't holding it together so I told my son I was fine with him going on weekends to keep his father comfy. As my son grew things changed. At 14 things changed in that his dad had a girlfriend so he wasn't having my son over as much...well now my son was going through the rough time because he was 2nd fiddle. What a rough year...I got him the counseling he needed and he told me it wasn't me that his relationship with his father stunk and DAD needed to back off and let him be a kid. Son was going through that...all dressed in black phase. My mindset was as long as he wasn't hurting anyone or himself let him be.Counselor agreed and my son and the counselor sat with the XDH and explained that to him and made him realize he went from wanting our son ALL the time to taking him 2 weekends a month. Always go with your heart Mary! AT 16 I have a wonderful son whos very well adjusted, level headed and is really enjoying his life now. Darcy - Great pic of the bird! Especially cute his sitting on the bird flag Sorry to hear your leg is still sore. I know my right heal acts up alot. I was hoping that would ease up with the weight loss but, I think I need to have hit checked to see if it's a bone spur or something. Isn't it just amazing the differences of amount of food we can take in on one day and then how we can't the next? Too bad they don't attach a meter we can pull out of our pockets that lets us know a measurement of pressure in there lol I do hope your leg feels better soon! Patty - You got that right...I did pass my motorcycle driving class and got my license and yeap we got me a bike, a used one that needed alot of work, DH did paint it and yeap we went and looked at others. Heres why....the bike I bought first was only $250. DH test drove it because I was too new. He's been riding since dirtbikes at 9 to a 750 at 42. Lots of practice...so when the bike was acting up he knew what to do. he's worked on it, fixed it but, it's not running smoothly and a newbie on a bike has a hard enough time figuring about and coordinating feet, hands, balance and keepin an eye on the road that having to listen to the motor to make sure it stays running while riding...just isn't a good combination for this girl lol. He had a hard enough time...I wasn't even going to try plus...when I sat on it my feel couldn't go flat on the ground. Definately something I want to happen as I was taught we should always be able to plant our feet when on a bike or it's too big. Anyway....I went to the bike shop to get a smaller used bike for myself but, we ended up with a bigger one for DH and I to ride together. Me as a passenger. DH will be riding that one all the time with me as an occassional passenger. We're selling his bike and the bike he fixed up because he now realizes I'm right. I need something smaller if I'm going to ride on my own. My friend volunteered her bike that is a 250. Pretty small bike one of the smallest on the market. I'll be practicing more on hers until I"m comfy...then I'll see about getting me a bike more my size. Probably a 500 or 650. I'll know better what to get myself when I've got more time on a bike. Thanks for the weight loss congrats.....I've been really happy with the moving of the scale lately. Was excited to see the 40 come up and even more SURPRISED when it moved again the next day. (I so have to stop weighing in every day lol) Hope your letter gets there soon. It sure is aggravating having to wait Betty - Wowza girl sounds like you got lots of exercise in with that pool. That's awesome. We just opened mine last week but, it's been too cold and rainy to go in. I can't wait to go in. I love the exercise in there plus th body being practically weightless really helps with the joints and bones. I like doing walking laps around the pool then fighting the current in the opposite direction. Using pool noodles to float and kick your legs is great too. I'd love to see pictures sometime How big of a bike did you say you ride Betty? Gosh I need to shake this uneasiness I have with it. I kinda wish I had a bike to ride right after the classes so I got right back on but, it didn't work out that way.....I'll get there Drove around my yard the other day with my friends 250. I need more practice Just gotta get that throttle control down. I'm sure it's a site for my neighbors to see hahahaha Dianne - I hope your back is feeling better after going to the chiro. Amazing work those folks can do I love my chiro and she does other homeopathic work too. Does the body good Wahoo on the 201 as well. I can't wait to Celebrate oneder land with you. Keeps us posted because it's right around the corner for you! Eileen - Sorry to hear about your neice. Geesh the docs are certainly causing unneeded stress. Can't they get it together and decide when this surgery needs to take place? Do they know the cause of these polyps? I'm doing ok in my world..thanks for asking. I hope all is going well for you as a well. Did you have a quiet weekend this weekend? Bean - Sometimes that scale is plain ole the enemy :guess I have no doubt once your restriction is at the right level you'll loose. We didn't get this way overnight thats for sure (although sometimes I swear 10 pounds can happen that quickly lol) so it's going to take time to come off. What size band did your doc use on you? Enjoy your vacation...I hope you have a nice relaxing time and quality time with DH. That's always a nice combination Cindy - Hows the summer going so far for you? Are you able to do some relaxing now that school is out? I hope your migraines have gone away! I think I missed something....what were you planning for your dad? Your DD sounds so cute with her purse. I love girly things....but, I don't have any little girls to spoil I had to buy trucks and wallets and now paintball guns and video games lol. Ohhhhh I'm dreading the car day lol Kat - you and dh are in my prayers. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way. Did you end up postponing your fill? Stress really does play a big role in how much restriction we have. I'd hate to see you too restricted during this time. You're going through a big thing with DH already the last thing you need is a golfball in your chest. Good luck with your decision and know that I'm thinking of you two! Well....I think my post is huge already...and I know I've missed some. I wish you all the best and hope you're all doing well and shrinking! HUGS :girl_hug:
