Lordy...I'm still rocking...not too bad when I'm walking or driving but, sitting in front of the computer today at work and right now...man I still feel it. I'm on the hunt for my ginger trips tomorrow...no clue if they'll help but, something has to give. DH and DS don't feel a thing anymore...it's just me and DH wants to go Fluke fishing this weekend? Ummmm not sure that's a good idea for me or it might wind this ride I'm on back up again lol. Thanks for asking everyone but, you friend here in Taunton,MA is still a rockin the boat on land lol. Hmmm can't say no chocolate for me today....day started off great. Breakfast was M&Ms UGH. So stressed at work because we're behind due to vacations and I'm really really behind because of mine and helping the others. Boss was out today and asked me to be in charge ohhh lordy. So M&Ms were for breakfast....then I had 4 mint oreos after dinner. Ok can someone say...She needs a fill? hmm not sure on the fill because eggrolls aren't pretty coming out of your nose! umm yes...I did say nose :omg: . Took one bite of the eggroll....did ok....had 1/2 a crab rangoon.....ok...dipped the eggroll in duck sauce...chewing someone asks me a question and gulp. Ohhh lord :rolleyes :straight :paranoid :huytsao runnnnnnnn to the bathroom and made it just in time. Whew...but ummmm man did it sting lol. I'm cracking up as I type this but, man it did hurt lmao. Nothing like blowing and seeing your lunch in your tissue. Nothing I could do...it came up so fast...no control on shuttin valves lol. Oh well...threw the rest away and ate more M&Ms. Never threw those up....now why is that? Anyone else ever have this happen? So 1 pound from 50 and I'm eating M&Ms talk about self defeating. WTF? (As Eileen would say heh heh) I've missed you gals...going to attempt some personals but man oh man the rocking seas here don't help. I have to admit it gets harder and harder to do those as our group grows....but that's awesome as well. We learn so much from each other and support each other so much...it's truly wonderful! Darcy - things better with dh? I know things were rough for me and DH yesterday too. It gets better when I ignore things and just say fudge it to myself. I get stressed over financial stuff and that doesn't seem to bother DH which of course bothers me lol. EH....this too shall pass, always does is what I keep in mind. I hope all is better for you. Cindy - Thanks for the encouragement and congrats to you again my friend. You truly are doing wonderful and your an inspiration both with the weightloss and spiritually. Eileen - You never fail to make me smile and amaze me. You truly have a wonderful way of looking at life and I thank you for sharing. How is your neice doing? Betty - How is that foot? How is DH doing with his job search/interview? Have you been able to slow down a bit at work? Bene - Miss you girl and hope you get time to breath soon! Doc - What ya up to? Resting from your trip to see DS? I love the way those pictures were set up fading in and out, slowing panning...great! Anne - where is ya hon? You doing ok? Ann - Hello stranger! HOpe all is going well. Mary - you sound so busy all the time...hope you can take a breather as well and enjoy your weekend! Kat - Letting you know I still have you and DH in my prayers. How is he doing? How are YOU doing? Dianne - Hmmm tips on a cruise? Don't be afraid to ask for more sauce with your food and get it the way you want. Do the early morning walks around the deck...great to keep those drink calories at bay lol. Just enjoy yourself and make sure to bring dramamine and those boat wrist bands. Best thing to pack even if you're not sure you'll need them! Patty - I hope you're doing ok. How are the boys? Chrispy - Girl...you got a two things done and you're on your way. You'll be banded in no time if you keep this pace up. Come on girl...I'm routen for ya heh heh Hugs to al of you!
-
Lianna we might be tied for last lol. I just checked this morning and I lost the cruise weight so I'm back to the 4 pound loss. Not going to meet the 11 pound goal for sure. I highly doubt I'll loose 7 pounds in one week! Oh well...congrats to all that suceeded and to those who tried. We're quite the team and thanks to JohnQ for getting us rollin!
-
Whew I did it...Funny my weight today is 228 that's -2 for me...yeaaa lost the cruise weight...one pound away from the big 50! I'm excited. Ohhhh Christmas Shopping......I'll be working on my Christmas list this weekend so I can start shopping soon. DH already bought my Christmas gift while we were on the cruise so I guess that means we've started too!
-
I'm alive...I'm still woozy, rocking with sea legs trying to gain my land legs back lol. I just can't see straight enough to type enough tonight. I think I read folks are giving up chocolate and ice cream for a week. Does that start on Monday? If so COUNT ME IN! I'll do it! Cindy...my DH told me to tell you he said you look fantastic! What a difference and keep up the great work! (I gave him a hug for ya lol) You really do look awesome my friend. Darcy - I haven't been banded all that long but, I can certainly understand frustration when it comes to gaining and losing from all my prior tries. Girl....you can do it but ya now...you need to cut yourself some slack (like I should talk right? UGH) but, truly you're a wonderful person and things will get better. Just like you said...get back on track, kick it up a knotch and you'll be on your way for sure! Hugs my friend and I'm routing for you! Pat - Nice to see you again..I've missed ya Doc - Great pics of your son. What an accomplishment and one to be very proud of. Thanks for sharing. Betty - so sorry about DH's job. I do hope he finds something soon. I"m praying for a good opportunity to come to both of you. Patty - Have you tried looking at Freecycle.org? It's a group you can join in yahoo that is awesome. I run one here for the city of Taunton. People recycle things they no longer need but, can also ask for things they do need. the wanted postings help remind folks of items they have and aren't using that perhaps they'd be willing to recycle. People offer things they no longer need to see if someone can use it and to keep it out of the landfill. In our group constantly I'm seeing people give away Air conditioners for nothing. All you gotta do is pick it up! Give it a shot you might get one or two for your home. Many folks getting Central Air get rid of the window units so its worth a shot! Great way to recycle kids clothing too! They grow so dang fast. Well folks it's late and I"m really cross eyed now lol. Love ya and hope to catch up with everything soon.
-
Definately exciting Cindy! Is this your last year of teaching before you retire? It's a woozy feeling in my head and body but not my stomach. I tried to google it and found that ginger is suppose to help. I need to find true ginger ale not the stuff just flavored like it or find ginger tablets. Man, now I think I'm going to have a black eye. Was petting my bigger puppy when the little one jumped up and got me in the eye with his snout OUCH.
-
hee hee Eileen I wish I could just take that big dump lol I was thinking exactly the same thing hahahahaha My God this woozy feeling on land is terrible. Someone told me to get some ginger tablets...think I might try it. Hopefully they are chewable...but I'm afraid to drive to get them UGH. I keep feeling like I need to sleep more...work should be fun tomorrow if this doesn't stop.
-
Just got back from my cruise with a 2 pound gain but, you know what? I'm PSYCHED! It could of been alot worse and I had the time of my life so wahoo. I have to back my weightloss back to only 2 pounds but, that's ok! Like John said we have another 2 weeks to go! Keep on keeping on there folks you can do it! Congrats to all that made their goal already and for those who keep on trying!
-
Wahooo just stepped on the scale and although I gained 2 pounds it would of been much MUCH worse without my band. So as much as I hate gaining weight.....I'm psyched it was only two pounds. Makes me now 3 pounds from 50 but thats ok I'll get there. Man, my body is still rocking with the motion of the ocean. It's a terrible feeling and I hope it goes away soon! Have today off then back to work tomorrow...don't want to be rocking in my seat at work hahaha. I'll have to tell the boss its one too many rum runners she suggest I try lol
-
Ok Funny......well stepped on the scale and I gained 2 pounds while on my cruise. Thankfully it was only 2 pounds...whew! I'm loving my band, I know it would of been more than that if I didn't have it! So I'm starting at 230 and i'd like to be in wonderland by Christmas that would take 31 pounds but, I'll say 35. I'd like to weigh 195 by Christmas....ohhh pretty please Santa hee hee
-
Hi Melissa, My DH catches fish all the time and sometimes it goes down easy other times not. One time he cooked it on the grill and put lemon pepper on it....was great going down but, coming back up it was terrible. I have found the plainer the fish the better for me. No breading, no seasoning and lots of tartar sauce and it will go down and stay down. I make my own Tartar sauce with ff mayo and relish. Don't give up on that good protein just eat it very very slowly.
-
I would love to join this wonderful Christmas spirited group. I just got back from a vacation cruise and I'm wincing at the thought of stepping on the scale. I'll do that in the morning and give you my stats then if thats ok FunnyDuddies I'll look at my favorites and find my Christmas links for crafts etc.
-
Congratulations Cindy! You've done a fantastic job and have been such an inspiration to many of us. Love ya!

Hello everyone....just got home about 3 hours ago. Ohhh man my house is still rocking like the ship lol. My DH said it might take me a day or two to get rid of this feeling. 2nd day out at sea it was getting pretty rough and lots of people were getting sick. I brought my Motion Sickness bracelets and pills with me so I did good with that. I was smart and took it ahead of time on the way back. Things are still rocking even though I'm sitting down so excuse any mistakes you see here lol. The beaches in Bermuda were BEAUTIFUL! We went to Horseshoe Bay with pink sand and I swear I was going to drown lol. The current was so bad that day that the undertow was taking me farther out. DH had to pull me back in because the waves kept going over my head and I was taking in salt water. YUCK! It was great though...the water was warm and then you'd get a nice cool patch come through with the stronger waves. Tabacco Bay was much much calmer. The guys went snorkling and saw some really beautiful things. Me....I can't breath with those things on hahaha. I stayed and just swam in the shallow water and rested on the beach. Nice red tone I have to my pale freckled skin lol. Ouchy is more like it but, it's not too bad. Hopefully the color will change to tan and not just freckles. Took a ride on a glassbottom boat and saw sea turtles and other beautiful fish. We also did a bus tour or all of Bermuda. Did you know they ride on the left side of the street and the streets are so narrow that the buses hit the trees and each other alot? OH MY that was like a wild roller coaster ride. All during the ride there and just before they let us off the ship they told us they didn't suggest we rent Scooters or jetskis because they have so many people hurt themselves the first day and ruin their vacations. Well....people of course did it anyway. We were walking down the street doing some trinket shopping when all of a sudden this woman comes flying by, legs flaying all over she was out of control doing at least 15-20mph. She went through a bush and SLAMMED into a parked car first the scooter than her head, then her body smack in front of us! We couldn't believe it. I was expecting to see lots of blood but thankfully the helmet saved her. She stumbled up and the helmet was crooked on her head. She was smiling but, let me tell ya it was a nervous smile. She HAD TO BE hurtin that night! Unreal! Several times our bus almost ran scooter people off the road, they are that narrow. DH bought me a lovely Bermuda Good Luck Stone ring. They take different colored quartz and fuse them together. It's kind of an Emerald/Pillow Cut combo. Very pretty with it's pastel pink, green, blue, purple, and orange. It reminds you of the colors of the homes there in Bermuda. If you've never been they all use pastel colors on their concrete homes and every home has a white roof. They collect the rain water from the roof and store it in a watertank kept below their house for drinking and cooking water. There is a really neat purification system on the roof by using lime laced paint. Pretty cool but, ya know....bird poopies still happen. The locals say you have to get over that fact and know that it settles to the bottom of the tank.EWWWWWWW I'll take my tap water thank you lol. Well....being that I just got home...I haven't stepped on the scale and can I tell ya I'M SCARED? OMG I haven't drank so much in my life! I didn't get drunk but, the ice cold Rum Runners made like slushie and the Bahama mamas and frozen mudslides were awesome. Ohhhh the calories...weep I know I did damage but, gosh I don't wanna look. Oh well I did have a great time (with the occassional tension between DS and DH UGH. God I hate that! It really puts strain on me. DH is great....DS is great but the combo together aren't always a good thing. Picture small cabin, teenage habits, single child selfishness that creeps in sometimes versus DH being a big kid himself who grew up in a very strict home with chores, work and siblings....oh man!) Anyway....most of the time was great and far far exceeded those hairy times. Playing referee sucks and I hate it. I understand both sides and it's sometimes very difficult for them to see it. Anywho....we all had a great time on the beaches and mealtime was much better once we nailed down a great Maitra-D that knew my son's nut allergies and therefore supervised his food being made separately. We got to see the next day's menu the day before, my son picked what he wanted and Jay made sure to have a separate cook on a separate station make his food. Now the kid was in heaven because all he could eat for a day or two were hotdogs and french fries. YUCK. The food on the boat was fantastic and it was great to try new things. Now I know why the ladies here like Crawfish I liked it. However, .......I did ended up with several golfballs because I was trying to keep up with DH and DS timewise and just couldn't. I kinda felt I had to because of the way the ontrays were brought out ya know? Anyway, DH spoke to Jay and Jay spoke to the staff to tell them to let me alone until I was finished with one before they brought another. Yet...not stop my son and DH. It was so much better! I still got the golfball and ended up in the cabin bathroom a few times but, it was good. If I hadn't drank so much I probably would of lost weight but, heck this was a once in a lifetime trip for me. Never been on a real trip before so I wanted to enjoy it...oh boy did I lol. Anyway, I read all the postings whew you gals were busy. I can't do personals yet....still rocking here. I'll catch up with everyone soon I promise. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pics too. Whew gotta go lay down now...love you folks.

Just checked the scale so I could see how much I weigh after my cruise and I'm down 2 more yippee.....1 more pound and it will be the big 50 for me. I can't wait!

Living with Kids, Hubby and the Band?
SherryW replied to LittleBird's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's going really well here. My DH cooks the main course for our meals as well but, instead of grilling two steaks he grills one and we share it. My DS's diet hasn't really changed much. DH has lost 35 pounds by watching what he eats which he says is easier to do because of how I'm eating now. So we got two people losing weight for the price of one band lol. My DS and DH are very supportive, my DS just feels bad when he sees that blank look on my face when I know I've pushed it or I'm stuck. He just says eat slower mom or take your time mom lol. They're both so good to me and have been so supportive. Good luck! -
Eilene I'm glad you're feeling better about your niece. She's got a path in front of her but, being a little one she's got the youth and strength for a speedy recovery. I guess I got the weeks mixed up because I thought it was this Friday. I won't be here to let you know I"m thinking of you and your family but, please know you're in my prayers every day and will be while I'm away. I have everything except the morning essentials packed. The guys think I've packed too much but, they won't think so when they need it lol. I think I thought of everything including Imodium AD juuuuuuust in case they eat something they shouldn't lol Lots of shorts, sunblock, undies etc. So we should be set to go. Just drop the puppies off at my friends and we're on our way. Have a great week everyone!
-
Hi everyone, Just making a quick stop in today. Gotta get packing for our trip and some last minute errands. The puppies made out great at the vet but, Jenny needs a claw removed because it's curling and Jake needs to be fixed soon. (Ouch lol) Vets aren't cheap huh Darc UGH. $220 later just for shots and 1 heart worm pill yikes! My friend is taking the pups during our vacation. God bless her! Man I need to get her something special from Bermuda  Eilene - How did your niece make out? I hope everything is ok. Betty - Definately take it easy on that foot girl. I hope you can get whatever is causing the pain to go away  Man that takes a toll on a person. I've had a headache for a week now. Did I tell everyone our work building was evacuated for a Freon leak? and I wonder why I have a headache? Anyway...I hope you get that taken care of with your visit Betty. Kat - How cool a prayer tree. I think that's really sweet and definately something that pulls the church together as a community for the community. Very special group you have there. I know I didn't catch everyone...but, I do have to get going and finish packing so I know what I need to pickup at the store before we go. Always something right? Love you folks and I'll catch up when we get back. byeeeeeeeeee
-
prayers going out to Eilene, Jessann and family and sending some of my angels your way. Trying to get bills straightened out and paid before I leave for Bermuda Sunday. Gotta take the pups to the vet on Sat and finish packing then bonvoyagee! Man I'm going to have alot of reading and catching up to do here when I get back. You gals and guys keep me hoppin. catch ya tomorrow !
-
Just poppin in for a bit. Have to get ready for work. Been so dang busy at work trying to play catch-up so that I can go on vacation in peace..instead I keep getting pulled into meetings, seminars etc this week. Unreal! So now I'm two days farther behind...can't win! DH says I'm going on vacation anyway...ummm yea we already paid for it lol. Just wouldn't of mind going away on a clean slate....oh well. Diane - Sorry to hear about your accident. Definately make sure you're doing ok and then make the decision on how you want to react to the driver of the other car. My SIL was hit from behind and the guy was going 60mph when he did it. She was stuck on the highway behind backed up offramp traffic and wham. Her lugguge in the trunk was in the front seat with her. She didn't sue the guy and now she has pain in her foot for the rest of her life with no compensation other than the original medical bills. Definately think about it. Eilene - So sorry to hear about your niece. You're all in my prayers and I hope it all goes well with her surgery and recovery. Little ones sure have alot of spunk and heal up fast too....saying special prayers for her. Well...need to get ready for work UGH. Seminar today...another 4 hours gone grrrrrrrr Have a great day my friends!
-
i've lost 2 so far John but, I'm going on a cruise next week. HOPEFULLY I'll be walking around enough to counteract any extra eating I do...although I'm not planning on making bad choices. Good luck everyone.
-
Happy Birthday Darcy! I hope you have a wonderful day! Patty & Cindy - Thank you for convincing me that the numbers are just a starting ground. I really do need to just choke it up, try things on and frig the number. I need the clothes so I just have to do it. I'll get a few things that can mix and match with other things and that will be that. I'm sure I'' manage to do at least that. It's a 7 day cruise so I think if I get 3-4 pairs of shorts I'll do ok. If not.....dang nabbit I'll use DH's shorts lol. They have elastic on em so it's not too bad lol. (Patty I'm still sending positive vibes for that banding of Patty ) Eilene - I actually do get my clothes at Walmart but, my Walmart is bare lately. I'd really like another pair of jeans to take but, I guess I'll have to go to an out of town Walmart because I don't think I'll get them in time if I order them online now. I didn't think of doing that DUH. I'll have to give that a whirl. I love their vneck t-shirts that have some weight to them. They hang nice. I got some there a few years back and they now fit again so I'll be taking them with me on my trip. I'd love to get a few more if I can find them. Man...fairs are definately too expensive. I avoid them like the plague lol. Springfield (Big E) Fair is huge around here. It's like $15 to get in, the food prices are ok I suppose for fair food but, a bottle of Water will run you $3.00 which is nuts. I don't go on the rides so I have no idea what the cost is there but, i don't see huge families in there if that's a hint. Betty - Where is this hard lump on your foot? It is near the ball of your foot or near the heel? I had alot of pain in my heel once and my chiro actually adjusted those bones in there. It was awesome. Please let us know how you make out hon. I'm glad you're going. AND you are right...you have to take care of you...your employer will understand and if they don't Betty...you don't want to work there. I'm sure they realize you work very hard and this is just something you have to take care of. Donna - So sorry about the house. People just don't appreciate things when it's not their own. heck some don't even appreciate them then. I do hope it's fixable and hopefully you can sell it and rid yourself of that worry. People are just amazing sometimes....they just floor me with their selfish, uncaring ways. Bean - Have you enjoyed your weekend? Did you get a chance to finish your deck garden? Hope all is well. Anne and Pat - Where are you gals. Miss you DH and I went on a charity ride today for Ronald McDonald House. MY GOD the number of bikes there was amazing. It was a 50 mile ride that ended at a place called Francis Farm. They are known for their claim/lobster bakes etc. But...hotdogs and hamburgers were on the charities menu. That came with the price of the entrance fee as well as tshirts so that was cool. The place did allow you to buy clam cakes, chowder, chicken etc though if you wanted. Beautiful day for it! Well...off to check the boards. Love you folks!
-
Awww how lucky am I? My DH just came in after I wrote the last message and he could see the look on my face. I told him it was still bothering me, this dang clothes shopping thing and he said..."Honey, you can't look at the numbers on those tags. When you go to those stores they have clothes made in other countries and everyone sews different. Do you think a size made here in the U.S. is going to be the same size by another country? No way. Heck I only buy American made gloves because the foreign ones never fit. You've done great, you look great and you're still doing so well." Then I got a big bear hug and a kiss on the forehead. Awwww man I just fell in love again. Still don't have clothes for the trip but, at least I'll be naked and in love hahahaha my bad.:guess

Can you feel the band and port?
SherryW replied to RKidder's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't feel my band unless I ate too much, then I can sometimes feel the pressure. I do feel my port but only if I push my stomach muscles out and push down on the port area hard. -
Hey Cindy, Actually I do almost all my clothes shopping at Walmart because the prices are great and the sizes seem to fit but, our Walmart hasn't been re-stocking on things. I haven't been able to get another pair of jeans in quite some time. I bought one pair of denim jeans there and now I can't get another one. It's been so lousy that I desparately ran to Fashionbug today and then Kolhs. I bought a few things at fashion bug out of desparation but, it was so depressing. Some things are a bit snug but, I didn't want to move up a size because then they'll be too loose too fast. They won't look bad with a baggy shirt over them so I bought them. Still not thrilled with them though :scared: I'll keep the tags on in case I find something somewhere else. ....You are right....I really should ignore the sizes but, you can't help it. YOu have to look at them in order to start somewhere. It truly is depressing. DH felt bad and convinced me I"ve definately lost and since I can't buy my clothes at my usual Walmart, other stores sizes will fit differently. He's a sweetheart. It's going to take time for me to realize I have lost this weight....if you all can understand that. I know the scale says I have, and my jeans say I have but my head is having a hard time every time I look in the mirror or try clothes on. Knowing I have 80 something more to go is tough too I guess. I try to break it down to little goals but, ...well dang it...I'm really too hard on myself. Aunt flo is visiting too so that's making things more difficult. I wouldn't normally buy clothes this week anyway but, I have no choice. We leave next weekend! I'll try again maybe Tuesday when this retaining fluid stops I guess. I love you folks...and truly appreciate you listening to my gripin. I think my biggest battle is with myself all the time. I really need to cut myself some slack....now...if I could only learn how lol
-
Ok ...I need clothes for my cruise and I HATE clothes shopping :scared: HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT. I'd rather scrub toilets all day! I went to Fashion bug and Kohls. Every piece of clothing was a different size, they all fit different and nothing to me looked good. One pair would fit as one size....another pair a bigger size..and another I would of needed an even bigger size and no freaking way was I going there. Dang nabbit! I'm soooo frustrated See...this is why I don't even want to look at an after picture yet. I know the scale said I lost, I know everyone tells me I'm much smaller but, when I go to buy clothes why aren't they smaller in proportion with what I lost? Did I wear my other clothes so much that they stretched with me? Did the manufacturing companies all change sewers at the same time and they are blind and sew deeper into the seams? What gives? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm beyond frustrating....I could just cry. Jeans one size and yet 2 sizes up on other things don't fit? This just doesn't make sense to me. OMG I'm just miserable....what the heck am I going to do for clothes?:faint: :think :omg: :tired
