Hello Eileen, Cindy, Pat, Patty, Dianne, Bean, Darcy, Mandy, Allison and everyone else Can't do personals cause I gotta let the baby sleep now. He's so dang cute I'm going to miss him They're going home tomorrow.

yeap I second that the band has no fill in it other than the testing fluid they use. I ask about all that stuff before banding just out of curiosity. Another thing...they say some evaporates but also...my theory here....when we lay down at night the fluid evens out from band to port. That's why we're so restricted in the morning...well me anyway lol. Until I've walked around a bit and gravity takes the fluid away from the band or at least partially away. Well that's my theory and I'm buying it hahaha. I beleive some fluid would evaporate etc but, heck I'm still wondering where the heck my original 1.25 went...kinda scarey. If 2-3cc is what they like to give total and I'm either at 1.25-2.25......not sure I want another fill for a long long time. I'm still restricted just right. Went out to eat with my hubby and his brother and his wife...ate one boneless buffalo chicken strip about 3'' long and 3 nachos......one spoonful of my french onion soup and I'm done UGH. Well off to do some work around the house. Hope you all are doing well and shrinking!!!!!

Dez I can eat shredded pork from some restaurants but, not always. finicky band lol You're right the clinic is TOO busy sometimes, especially lately. I don't know for certain what's in my band either. Jones put in 1-1.5 the first time so we called it 1.25. The second time he only pulled out .50 (where the rest went is beyond me) so he put in that .50 plus 1.c so I currently have anywhere from 1.25-2.25 right now.

Hey Dez...sounds like quite the trip. Don't worry about the plateau You'll break it. Holy smokes...just noticed he gave you 2cc's in the first fill? Wowza. Do you have alot of restriction? I saw Chrispy yesterday and she looks great! You can see the weight loss already. Go Chrissssss, Go Chrissssssss (doing the cabbage patch hee hee) Deb - how are you doing with the eating...have you slowed down? I had a hard time at dinner today but that's because I tried pork again. I love the stuff but it's not liking me lol.

Goooood Mornin'! Just a lazy Saturday morning here in MA. The guys just left to work on my friends house and me, mom and SIL are going to head out to the craft store, farm stand and Savers again I need to find some jeans that will fit this butt of mine. I bought a pair of jeans on clearance at Walmart and didn't realize they're this new Mid-something things. They're aren't those low rise belly showing things but, they don't come all the way up over the hips and above? YUCK I feel like I'm losing my draws lol. So I need to find a few pairs to hang in...Savers should be a good place to start. Not sure what I'm looking for at the craft store but, I wanna do something. Cooler weather does this to me...I get in that crafting, baking mood lol. So they came back with a counter offer at work and I took it. It was 1/6 shy of what I asked for but, not so much of a difference that I'd pass on it. She did say after 90 days they'd review me again and if I was doing well put me in for the difference but, I told her I'm realistic and told her 6 months would be a better judgement time. I told her I was just asking for her to be fair salary wise. I know it wasn't truly her that set my pay it was the VP and there are budgets etc. I'm smart when it comes to business but, also know I need to get the bulk of it now because it's hard to get the raises later lol. They made the announcement Thursday to the company during a company meeting and many sent congrats but, many eh. You know how it is. I"m ok with that, everyone is different, some just surprised me though especially my staff. I do realize they are worried about who will become their supervisor next etc. They're used to me and I spoiled them a bit but, I'm still taking care of the same account and will be working with them closely just not their boss anymore. Actually I won't have anyone under me.....that's kinda weird to me. The transition will take some time as I have to train my replacement(s) and also be trained. I'm looking forward to it and I thank you all for your well wishes during those stressful days. Eileen - it really is a hard decision sometimes with the fills. I've only had two but, I wasn't too sure on getting the 2nd one. Glad I did even though it took until this week to finally be able to eat more normally. I almost got an unfil but I think the last 2 pounds loss helped. One thing about a fill....you sure get a big burst of weight loss right after being on liquids I'm certainly not ready for another yet though. Still got something stuck yesterday after only a few bites YUCK. Good luck Cindy - How did you make out with picking out your floors? Did you find something that just POPPED for ya? I find it hard to pick out colors when all you get to look at are little squares...should of seen me picking out colors for my house to be painted lol. It's beautiful now though my BIL did a great job. I gotta take a pick...of course we have no lawn so things look yucky lol. Lawn was dethatched and all dried out. We just had it airated and reseeded. Kat - That's great about your DH and your DD is in my prayers. Sounds like you have your hands and heart full. I'm thinking of ya gal Bean - Sorry about the boss thing for you and the new hire. Geesh I swear employers don't often think of the ramifications of the things they do. We have alot of weird things at work as well...like salary ranges, job duties seem all out of wack. Seems the more people complain the more they are rewarded? Now go figure! The people who work hard, don't complain...don't stick out so they don't get more? It's frustrating but, I have to think for myself...I go in, give what I think is appropriate and then some, I get along with everyone, listen to them all but, don't add to their complaining. I just want to get my work done and done well...hmm must be why I had to fight for this job huh? hahaha oh well. My new boss and I also have alot in common in that thinking. We both seem to be magnets and sounding boards for people at the company. God must have me in there for a reason aye? Mandy - I'm glad you had a good time in Disney..pictures please Diane - Sorry for your loss. I hope your trip went ok. Thinking of you. Hugs Allison - Congrats on the new job and liking it Always scarey starting a new one isn't it? lol Betty - What ya cooking girl? It's cool here in MA and all I can think of is making beef stew, baking a pie etc which made me think of you lol. I love hearing about your cooking on weekends or for parties Any recipes to share hee hee Chispy - How are ya today? hope you're feeling better and able to get some Breakfast in I'm gonna stop by this weekend sometimes to say HELLO to ya and compare battle scares hahaha Pat, Patty, Ira, Mary, Darcy - How goes it? Hope all is well. Well I've hogged the thread enough I better get shoppin lol Love ya!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Glad you're feeling better Chrispy. I actually heard that Debbie Z was leaving...do you think it's both leaving? To me it's getting really crazy at that office...I hope they do something about it. Maybe some of these interns they keep putting in the room with me will end up joining the team.

thanks dezadoo. Hopefully the job will end up not so stressful but, I doubt it lol. Anyway...I'll have to try some of those adora's too. I do like the caramel Viactivs though. The chocolate I can do without but, managed to finish that box of em. So....it would be great if we could all get together before the winter weather happens. Anyone interested in a weekend in November?

Nana - were you taking a daily vitamin when you had the bloodwork done? That's something you really need to do if you're not already doing it. My iron was borderline. I had to take the vitamin and they told me calcium played a part in that as well so I have to take 2 Viactivs a day. Chrispy - Wahooo girl you did it. Take your time, take it slow it's all about healing right now. Baby yourself for a bit...you do deserve that ya know :grouphug: If you need ANYTHING..."Just call out my name, and I'll be there ya ya ya...you got a friend" hahaha couldn't resist! dezadoo - you're doing great! Keep up the good work there my friend. Rainbow - You're doing great too. Wahooo:) I'm happy everyone is doing ok and Nana you're going to get there too! I heard today about the job I applied for. I had to do some fancy footwork regarding the pay but, we came to a good compromise I think so I took the job :grouphug: We'll see how that all plays out...if anything it's a great opportunity to learn more and put more information and education under my belt for future use :thanks: Hope everyone is doing well and shrinking

Hello everyone, Boy...I feel like I'm out of the loop here. Dang work has had so much of my time and thinking that I'm exhausted when I get home. Plus, my brother-in-law and his family have been here staying in my office. It's been so hard to get on my computer...I'm kinda pushing it now lol. The guys are watching TV so Bel and I are in here watching our show..she's working on cross stitch and I'm here taking a quick peek. Well...work.....yeap I'm still waiting on the job thing. The good news is they offered me the job...the bad news is the raise they came back with is a JOKE. Paaaalease! Basically they gave me a figure...I asked the highering boss...so do Account Managers get a bonus (knowing full well that they do) she says no we don't get bonuses. OOOOOK. "So you're offering me $4000 more but since I do get bonuses as a supervisor and my group has ALWAYS made bonues you're truly only offering me $2000 to do more work, work the same or more hours PLUS travel more each month? I'll be honest with you in saying I thought the pay would be more than that, I thought it would be ***" She asked "will that make a difference as to whether or not you take the job" "Yes, it definately will because I don't think it's worth it for me" She then told me she's doesn't write the checks. I told her I knew that but, I trust the fact that she'd bring what I said to the VP and have him reconsider the salary. She said she would. THAT was Friday and I've heard nothing more. UGH. Give me a break! She tried to tell me how my job would be easier, I'd be learning more things that I"d like to learn etc. Easier? I highly doubt it...I know the accounts too well to EVER think it will be easier...let alone the training of my replacements (yeap..they need to break my job down to two or possibly 3 people...what does that tell ya lol) Oh well so now I'm sitting waiting for them come back with what I want. Positive thinking peeps please...I'm going to need it. (How much you wanna bet they tell me there is a bonus plan and come back with less money...then never give the bonus? hmmmmm lol) Well I'd love to do personals but, I have to get off the computer so my in-laws can go to bed. I have a few though... Cindy...you had me cracking up. I was thinking Wow Cindy is making the October thread early...at least I saw it BEFORE October this time heehee. Oh the school shootings have been terrible...why do people do these things. If they are that unhappy then hurt themselves without hurting someone else. (Not that I think they should hurt themselves but, geesh why the kids too?) Bean - So sorry about the promotion at work. Believe me I've been through that myself a few times. Who knows might be happening again. Diane - Glad you had a great time and you're right the Cookies can get ya in trouble! I think that's where my pound came...but just think if we didn't have the band what we could of gained. YIKES! Kat - Glad you had a good time but, glad you can rest at home now too :grouphug: I totally understand what you're saying there. I don't mind visiting but, I'm happier to be home. Eileen, Darcy and others....I miss ya and I'll write soon! Hugs to you all...hope you're all doing well and shrinking :grouphug:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY!!! (Sorry I'm late.) Hmm calzones are easy actually if you use the prepared pizza dough from your grocery store or if you have a bread machine that makes it  You basically decide what you want in it. For ours we put a cheese mixture of Ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan...you know the same you make for lasagna then in some we put sausage crumbles and in the other diced chicken. Bake until golden brown and dip your pieces in spaghetti or marinara sauce. My friend makes one with ground linquicia, peppers, onions and mozzarella cheese it's yummy. Another friend uses roasted read pepper, pepperoni, capricola (italian ham?) and salami (I think...chrispy tell them your recipe hahaha) SHE makes them YUMMY! I didn't have any of the wheat bars or apple crisp yet. We're having applecrisp later...well I should say they are. I barely got the inside of 1/2 a calzone down my gullet. Lets just say I'm at the brink of PBing lol Won't be drinking any fluid for about an hour or so lol. Went to the organic supermarket again "Whole Foods" and got some wheat type crackers. They are really flat and don't bloat up with liquid so it's a good snack for me if I want something crunchy. I know cheese isn't the best for all of us but, I got me some Muenster too yummm. Hugs my friends...time to clock in and do some work UGH. (Pretty hard to do this without easy access to my computer. UGH. DH is going to have to move it for the next two weeks for me.)

    medical stuff--beware

I pb it seems once a week and I haven't gotten to the point of vomiting for about 3 weeks. It happened more when I got my 2nd fill until I got used to the new restriction. I don't really get constipated but, I don't go as often as I used to because I really don't take alot of extra calories to make that waste..seems almost everything I eat I try to keep healthy so it's all being used in my body.

lol Eileen my Halloween decorations were out last weekend lol. Didn't even think that someone would think it's too early hahaha ohhh wellsky too bad for those fuddy duddies. The kiddos across the street told me they love it so that made my day Not too much going on today. Made wheat bars (why do they call them wheat when it's oatmeal that is in them is beyond me lol), apple crisp and home made bread. Can ya tell the cooler weather is around? We're having calzones for dinner...well I'm eating the inside anyway lol. Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday! Oh spoke with my boss today and she's still a stressed mess too. She said they should be speaking to me soon regarding that position but she warned me to make sure I get the raise I'm looking for before I take it. Basically don't just settle for something. Well, I have to take one day at a time and see what comes about with all this. Another fish in my fish tank bit the dust....oh wellsky. I thought we also lost the shrimp but I guess he molted? Do shrimp do that? I didn't think we had two unless DH snuck another one in there hahaha.

    I Need Help....

Alot is going to depend on pain thresh hold, age and the type of job you have. I have an office job but, it requires a lot of getting up and down from a sitting position. I'm 42 and have a higher pain thresh hold. I had surgery on Monday and took the whole week off. I went back to work the following Monday but found the dress up clothes I have to wear pressed quite a bit on my incisions. I wasn't in terrible pain but, it was really uncomfy for me. I've heard where others went back to work two days later....don't think I could of done that myself. But...as said here...everyone is different. I wish you the best with your surgery
  21. SherryW

    Spousal support?

Hi Jenna, Have you talked about the surgery and the changes it's going to make in your eating with him? Has he been supportive so far? Perhaps having him go to a support meeting with you would help too. My husband was also a partner in eating crime but, he's been so supportive on my band and to boot he's lost 37 pounds along with my weight loss. We make better choices together although....when he wants he can eat those oreos, ice cream and other things I choose not to eat. Most of the things that got us into trouble are no longer in the house but, I have a teenager so we do have chips, Cookies and a few other things. Most of our Snacks are whole wheat items such as wheat things, wheat crackers or multigrain chips and sugar free items like sf pudding and Jello. I have some sting cheese and always keep a couple boiled eggs and deli turkey around. Maybe some of these will help you too :peep: I wish you the best in your journey.

Howdy everyone...feeling much better today and no lump in the chest. Hmmm wonder if not working today did it. Gosh it sure proves the stress is really doing a number on me. Maybe I'll just tell the boss I'm working from home from now on wwwwahahaha. A gal can dream right? Went to Savers today with my mom and SIL. Boy mom and I had fun spoiling my SIL and her baby They're having it tough right now because my BIL is having a hard time finding work in upstate NY so we have them here to work on our house and a few friends of mine want some work done so we're introducing them to my BIL. Shhhh we're also working with our realitor friend to see if there are options for them to move down here. More work for my BIL and then they'll also have family near by that actually visits them. Pretty sad that all my in-laws live near them and don't stop by to see how they are doing. I just don't get it...they both are so very very nice and da babe is sooooooooo cute!. Anyway....our friend thinks he can work something out with one of his apartment buildings and my BIL being the maintenance guy for him. This way they're rent will be pretty low and possible free on some months. Now that would help them tremendously! These folks give so much to their church family and help so many whenever they can they definately deserve a break so we're saying our prayers for the highest and best for them :peep: Please keep them in your prayers for me. Anywho...my mom knows what it's like to struggle. She raised us three kids on her own, dad never paid the child support, so she really wanted to help my BIL & SIL. She bought the baby I swear 20 outfits. I bought BIL a few nice shirts, SIL pants and sweaters and baby a nice winter coat, some books and toys. I also picked up a nice bread maker for $5! See...Savers is a Big Brothers/Big Sisters store. People donate the clothing and home goods and they sell them for the charity. Much like Salvation Army. So we were able to really give them a hand with some almost new cloths and housewares. Hopefully the breadmaker works lol. We're going to try it later. We have a ball doing this together. Fun fun! We'll probably hit the store again later next week before they leave. It's been great having them here....having family meals together. My mom is coming up for dinner, and we're all together. I'm loving the family thing.(some of you know the problems I've had with my siblings so having BIL/SIL here makes me feel very happy to have a family.) Anyway...we have to go to the market later too. My SIL is from the Philipenes (sp?)and she's going to make us Lumpia (I'll probably have to just eat the middle..don't think my band will like the roll part). We had it last time she was here and it was nummy. I'm not sure when I can get to my computer again...I'll try to do personals later tonight on my tiny laptop lol. (it is cute but, don't be suprised to see tons of typos lol the keyboard is so small) Aaaw Betty so sorry about your bike ride. I know my mom is missing it terribly right now.

Hello folks, just sitting here alone in the livingroom. It's 9:39pm and DH was sleepy so went to bed, BIL and SIL are pooped because baby keeps them up at night and son is away in his cave lol. Working on a little laptop that my DH referbished for me. He received it from a client that didn't want hers anymore Lucky me that my DH fixes them. It's slower than heck but, it's better than no computer. Work...UGH...I finally got rid of my migraine, felt the lump was gone in my chest and was feeling really good this morning. Went into to work and about 2 hours later the headache was creepin back and the lump was there again. soooo do ya think it's stress?

actually getting the fills isn't bad at all. I didn't think it hurt at all. It's not comfortable but, it doesn't hurt if that makes sense. After a fill you do get a boost in weight loss because you have to go back to stage 1 for a 3 days, then mushies for 3-4 days and then you can try solids. You have to go slow.

just reporting I was actually able to eat today. I'm telling ya stay home from work...less stress...band is more open lol. I had an over easy egg this morning with two sausage links, Soup for lunch and some chicken for dinner. Weird I tell ya...just weird. I feel better though...so I'm really thinking stress is key here hmmmmm. Gotta get going. Talk with you all soon!!!! Chrispy I miss ya!
