SherryW replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can't say before and after because I'm not done losing yet so these are my before and during pictures. Pardon the first pic as that was taken at 4am and the photographer didn't check to see if I blinked hahaha. Looks like I'm on the drugs to put you under just before surgery hahaha. 277_227_212 more shrinking to go. -

Hidy Hoooo neighbors..umm of the computer kind that is Sooo seems lots been going on as usual here in NJ threadworld. That is probably because we are the best thread in the LBT Universe. Yeap dats right....we're bad, ya bad, so bad...umm actually very good to each other. Tis why I lub ya Goofy mood today, must be the lack of sleep aye? :guess Cindy, Cindoroonie - Aaa to have new floors...hmmm think my next job around here is painting inside the house. Seems I can see fingerprints every where yuck! Pictures.....ummmm....:rolleyes :cry:nervous :biggrin1: :guess ooook I'll see if I can get DH to take em again tomorrow morning. I gots to put on the tight jeans that hold in my gut hahaha just teasin, I have to have him take it and dang not ZOOM in so much geesha! So it's a deal! Mary - What is it that you do for work? I read about it keeping ya busy but, don't know what it is that ya do. I hear ya on the work not being done. Going through that myself. Just makes me feel even better that I fired the laimo. Problem is now I have to do it and I didn't have enough extra time as it was UGH. Can't win...one day at a time. Kat - If they share the fairy with you will ya share with me? AFter work freaking 50plus hours a week I don't have anything in me to clean I hate how my house looks, I hate the clutter but, do I do anything about it noooooooooooooo DUH. WTF is wrong with me? I could take a month off and maybe just MAYBE I'd get 'er done lol. Oh well.....one day my fairy cleanup godmother will come. Chrispy - I think once you're eating some regular food you problem will go away or at least ease up quite a bit. Wondering if you tried some Papaya tablets if that would help too. You can get them at GNC or any healthfood store...vitamin store too I think. Darcy - How are you doing? How ya feeling? I'm glad I was able to give ya a chuckle hee hee. I try to do that for a few folks a day...you are well deserving a some laughter How is the puppy business going? Ya wanna come train my Jake. OMGosh...he's so cute but man he's nothing like Jenny when it comes to training and learning. I tried to teach him to lift his paw...there is jenny doing it. I try to teach him to lay down...jenny does it while I'm teachin him. You'd think he'd follow her lead especially when she gets the treats so quickly. He's cute but ummmm he's kinda not so bright lol. (Shhh Chris don't yell at me lol) Sooo we block the deck to the pool cause we covered it...guess who goes out onto the pool cover and takes a dump...oh yea you guessed it JAKE! He gets in trouble with the Alpha DH lol and the next day who goes out onto the pool cover walking around and takes a pee...yeap JAKE! WTF? Patty - 85 Degrees? Heck...did we even have that up here in NE this summer? I don't think we did. At least I can't remember lol. It got warm a few times....maybe it did but gosh it's surely getting cold now. Can ya blow some of that over here pwetty pweease? Pat, Bean, Anne (Where is Anne?), Mandy, Allison HELLOOOOO LADIES! Soooo whats cookin for the weekend? I think I'm going cheapo clothes shopping again and I need some breezars to hold up my girls. I seem to of shrunk out of the ones I bought just a little over a month ago. Dang it's great but, expensive sometimes Can't really buy those 2nd hand lol. Anywho...back to Savers this weekend for me. Oh and doing some cooking again too. Maybe a banana bread or zucchini...the guys love it. Hmmm nice roasted chicken sounds good too.

Diane when was your last fill?
-
Chrispy - That is great news on the healing. That has to be a relief for sure. It looked good when I saw it Sunday and I can bet it was even better today. You're on your way girlfriend! Bean - WTG on the exercise! I wish I had the UMPHHHH to do it. I need the push to "Git 'er done" but, haven't found it yet. Ya think having two dogs that I'd get the walking in huh? Instead they chase each other around the dang yard and stay way ahead of me. Mom's got a treadmill downstairs that she says I can use anytime and I got a Dreadcycle sitting in my living room looking at me every day...ya think I'd try it? Hmm maybe hearing your successes with exercise will get me going. Congrats on the scale movin too Cindy - Hope your visit with the doc went well. Sometimes no story is a good thing for a day too . You've done awesome with your weight loss! Your DD's party sounded like alot of fun. I was a licensed manicurist and did a bday party with the hairdresser. It was alot of fun..I used to love to do artwork on their little nails. Diane - Jammie time and tea sounds like what today should of been. Burrrr it was cold here today, frost on my car too. Sounds like you're reading a good book...now merge all three together and ahhhh relaxation Kat - I can only imagine what each cough did to you knowing what they told you. I hope your hubby's cough went away and he's feeling better today. Prayers are still being said for you both. Mandy - So sorry to hear about your pet. How is he doing today? I've never lost a pet before but, after loving these dogs of mine.......I can only imagine how it is. We're here for you. Patty - I popped out my hip twice in the last two weeks. I immediately went to my chiro to get it put back in. One time laying on the table one leg was almost 2 inches shorter than the other that's how bad I popped it. I could feel it happen too....swung my work bag over my shoulder and POP. Yeap the bag is too heavy but, am I still carrying it...yeap. DUHH ya think I'd learn. I hope you're feeling better. Mary - That's pretty lame that the kids dad didn't at least call. Doesn't he know boys love to look at cars too? Sure it's not easy having them along sometimes but, heck.....if the dealer wants to sell you a car he'll put up with it lol. I know...I did it lol. I hope he called them today. Betty - overdid it huh? I hope you're not sore today. How is the foot? Maybe jammies and a hot cup of tea IS what you need too Darcy - Sorry you've been so stressed. Doesn't it really stink that stress doesn't always help us lose weight either? UGH. Ya think the energy our bodies use to make it through the stress we would burn the cals but, it never works for me. For me it's the opposit. Seems my body holds onto the weight AND I end up with a back ache or migraine. I hope things are better for you today and you got to rest up. Pat - How's it going? Any employee stories for me lol. I have 3 new hires going all at once and they're now interviewing to replace me. That means another person to train too plus I'll have to train for my new job. BUSY BUSY for the next 4 months for sure. So far the new folks seem like they are working out but, I dont' know how long I'll have one of them as she's travelling a rediculous distance. I have a suspicion that as soon as the snow starts she'll quit. Another repeats the last word you say after every sentence and the 3rd seems great lol. We'll see how it goes lol If I missed someone it's cause the advanced mode only goes so far back hahaha Love ya all...Hope you're all doing well and shrinking!

Waaahooo Chrispy good to hear.

My advice...wait until after your vacation. You need to adjust to a fill and believe me it's taken me far longer than two weeks to adjust to my 2nd fill. If you're still losing there isn't a rush on it, just try to be careful and make good choices on your vacation. How often do we get to travel? Don't ruin it by getting a fill that could be too tight. Some docs are agressive with the first fill...others are not. I was at the point you are with after my first fill and ready to go on vacation. Cruise to Bermuda. I was still losing so I opted to wait on my 2nd fill. I'M SOOO GLAD I DID! This 2nd fill has taken almost 2 months to get used to. Enjoy your vacation...then get back to it

:welcomeB: and congratulations on your banding date NJbandman. I had my surgery on 2/13/06 and love it! I'm finally losing weight and keeping it off for the first time in years. I haven't weighed this much since just after my son was born 16.5 years ago. There have been ups and downs, fast losses and slow losses but, I'm here and still doing it. Still eating to live instead of living to eat...food is no longer the first thought in my mind. So much out there to be discovered and enjoyed that doesn't involve food and ya know what....even if it does...you can still have some. The band helps you not over do it  Some foods won't agree with you after surgery but, for the most part you can still enjoy the foods you enjoy now. I think maybe that's why I don't think about it so much? You know how it is...say the word diet and all of a sudden you're craving stuff you wouldn't of eaten if you weren't on a diet lol. Anyway.....listen to your docs, make sure you go to aftercare and keep up with us on LBT. Such a wonderful support group here! Congratulations on your decision and I wish you the best!

ralheit - I had to be on liquids for 3 days then mushies...eggs would of been too soon for me. I'd try switching to mushies for a while before eating solids again. Scrambled eggs can be really dry. Switch to something like Cream of Wheat with applesauce for Breakfast for a while. Ease back into solids like you did right after surgery. My second fill was tight too. It's just now feeling better and I had gotten it in August. As you lose more weight it gets looser but, for a while I had to stick to mushies and I was ok. If even the mushies don't stay down or if you have even the slightest trouble with fluids I would get a slight unfill. Good luck!

Hey Morph...I had heard you were leaving so I'm the little birdie that Jenn was talking about lol. I heard it here actually. I'd love to go to the Norwell meetings. I'll email you to see how to get there. I'm glad you join our thread here at LBT. It's a great place and we do what we can to help each other. That's why I haven't been into Boston for the support groups as it's just soooo dang hard to get out of there after. Talk about a long ride home. The aftercare is a must so I gladly go for that but, if you read around the threads here it's amazing the info you can find. I still think BIDMC is the best  (Sherrybo will be writing to your email :plane:

Chrispy trying to reach you via AIM but, can't. I hope everything turns out ok. Which surgeon saw you? Did they give you anything to put on/in it?

Hey everyone...Ohhh my.....alone in my house again. I like it but, I miss them too. The baby is so adorable too. They just called and said they made it home safely...whew. My band had been pretty finicky lately. I can't eat much the past few days and I'm getting a wicked bubble feeling in my tummy. I constantly feel like I have to burp so my body is naturally swallowing a little air to try to push up the rest of it and it's making it worse. Any clue how to stop that? I find I'm having to tell myself STOP IT lol. I don't know why I'm doing it but, man it's rumbling in there but won't move. I want to eat but, can't eat more. UGH. Well maybe I better go walk around to see if I can move it. Eileen - no chiros for you? I threw my hips out twice in the last two weeks and went immediately. It was a great help. Anytime I lay flat on my back it happens easily. Did they put a pillow under your knees?
-
Rainbow - How much of a fill did you say you have right now in your band? Sounds like you're still not at your sweet spot...why they call it sweet is beyond me considering you have to be extra careful and you really can't eat much. Chrispy - Steri Strips....you're suppose to let them fall off by themselves. If they are practically hanging then yea you can pull it off but, for those that are still stubbornly sticking leave it!!!! The last thing you want is to open up one of those wounds by taking it off too early. Also, don't be alarmed if you feel something pointy or like a barb coming out of the incisions. For me on two of mine the thread didn't absorb or melt away where the knot was. I had to actually use tweezers for one of them and pull the knot out. The rest of the incision was healed great except that part so I took it out and it healed up really quick. Mushies...you betcha the mushies keep you full longer. Especially if it's a protein type mushie. Meatballs are a great mushie...I know sounds solid right? But it's ground meat so it's a mushie especially with sauce They were a life saver for me and easy to order from any sub shop etc when the girls at work order lunch. Dreamin - Welcome to the thread. I hope all goes well for the date you're hoping to get. I've met Dr. Schneider but, only at one of the informational meetings. He seems very nice. Good luck Nana - How much you can eat depends on how much fill you have too. Before my fills I could pretty much eat more than a cup of anything. After the first fill I'd say about a cup of something...if I went really slow and chewed well. After this 2nd fill....well....the other night I went out to eat and I had one buffalo chicken tender, 3 nachos and 1 bite/sip of my french onion soup and that was that for the night. Tonight for dinner I had about a 1''x3'' piece of sirloin tip and 2 teaspoons of rice and that was it. My band has been really finicky since my last fill. I won't be getting another for quite a while. If I don't allow head hunger to take over, about 2-2.5 cups of food a day do it for me. Hey Dez how's it going? Well......I'm hungry but, feel like I have one heck of a bubble in my belly. I need to go walk around Hugs!
