Kat - I went back and forth with the reflux when I first got this 2nd fill. I almost went in for an unfill because of it. Trying to get some "Soup at hand" down. Been kinda sick all day today, nothing seems to sit right in my tummy Don't know if it's because I got sick yesterday or if I'm coming down with something. The hour ride home I thought I was going to hurl....acidy stomach.

Ewwwwwww really really bad at dinner tonight that just didn't wanna sit down and there was no walking it off. Now my tummy is gurglin and I can't tell if it's because I'm hungry or because my tummy is empty cause it all came back at me plus. ewwwwwwwwww hate when that happens, fortunately it's been weeks if not a month since it happened last. Cripe even my shoulders hurt and I saw stars. Hmmmm I think I gave you the picture lol Well...gotta go rest for a while. Love ya!

    Molestation!!!!

John my heart goes out to you. I can't even imagine finding out someone you knew so well...you didn't really know at all. I'm with you in the thought that just because you were raised in a terrible way doesn't mean you can't turn it around and to the opposite with your own children. Some people are stronger and able to turn it around...others just can't do it I guess. Anyway...just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and thank you for being you. HUGS
  9. Can't say I've ever done chicken or turkey in my crockpot. Hmmm bet it's yummy. If you've done chicken I would have to assume you can do turkey the same way and it would be fine

    6 months....*sigh*

Heather...with that flip and fill you're going to love your band. I didn't feel much restriction with the first fill other than the first few weeks but the second fill did it for me. Just think....that 20 pounds...could still be there ya know? That's 2 10 pound sacks of potatoes you carried around with you each and every day that you no longer carry. Don't get discouraged...the gym, the flip and fill and girl...you're on your way again Good luck with everything in November. We're routing for you!

    Annoying People

I didn't want others to know either. DH and I had talked about it and I explained to him I didn't want everyone staring at me and thinking she shouldn't eat that, can she have this, why isn't she drinking etc. I beat myself up enough I didn't need someone else doing it if I decided to have a cookie or a chip or something else "not diet food" like. So I asked him to not tell anyone else especially HIS family because they already scrootinized things I ate before. Nothing like going to your MIL house after not visiting for months only to hear "gee you gained weight" as soon as you stepped into the door. She'd say it to DH but, be looking at me too. I felt bad for him...here he was hugging her to say hello and that's what he got? Anyway...I told him not to tell. The last time we visited DH and I had both lost weight and all she could say was how much she had lost instead of congratulating him. (the heck with me, I don't care but, she's his mother she should say something nice about him losing 30 pounds cause you can really see it but, nope.) Anyway...I told DH, my boss because I was going to be out and she's a friend and my best friend of 17 years. All totally encouraged me and understood I needed to do this for me. Since the surgery and since the girls at work could tell I wasn't ordering much I explained after a while what I did. All have encouraged me so much and they keep saying they wouldn't be able to do it themselves. They see how little I eat and how I can't eat certain foods. That bothers them more than me and they understand it's working for me. But...my in-laws....they still don't know and I'm not telling them. My mom kinda blew it and told my brother and sister but, I don't see them enough to worry about what they think. I have noticed at work though with other people I don't hang around with...they mention how another girl at work that had bypass eats. I guess she's able to eat a whole 6'' sub bread and all or she'll be eating candy etc. They criticize how she can be eating that stuff etc. Well ya know people we have to live too, I don't judge her...let her do her her thing I say. Sooo right there and then I'm glad I never told them lol. People are too judgemental and I guess too sceptic for me to even bother telling them. When they ask how I'm losing, I don't lie...I say, I eat my proteins first, then fruit and veggies and then carbs if there is room. It's the truth

Gooooooooooooood mornin folks, Just got back from a nice Breakfast with DS. It was just a son and mom breakfast because DH and my mom went for the bike run for Muscular Dystrophy. Windy day out there for them but, lots of sun so that's a good thing. I know they'll enjoy themselves and it give me alone time with DS. He's watching some horror flick so I'm in the computer room checking posts and I'll do some work work soon. I should be housecleaning but, I just don't have it in me to do it. The toilets are cleaned, laundry will be started, kitchen is picked up and swiped so that's it for me. I still have the office and my bedroom to clean but, thats just going to have to happen another day. If someone comes over I'll just shut the doors hahaha. Thinking about making a pumpkin chocolate chip cake later on. Something about baking just relaxes me. Cindy - I think I found the orangecake recipe on Dunkin Hines website. I knew it was off of a cake box so I tried there and Betty Crocker. I'll let ya know if it's the right one. It's so easy to make and it's great in the springtime for something different. I use fat free coolwhip on it instead of frosting and applesauce instead of oil so it really helps cut back the calories and fat. Plus.....it's light and everyone loves it lol. Easy Peasy! Anyone making anything good for dinner? I have no clue what to make. Although....we bought fresh haddock yesterday so I'm thinking a fish chowder but, the guys won't eat that only I will lol. Can't win. DH will bake the fish if I don't make the chowder hmmmm we'll see lol. DS doesn't eat fish at all so I guess he'll have to wing it. Usually he'll make himself mac and cheese because we don't eat that lol. Can ya tell how undecided I am and that I'm stalling on getting to work? hahaha. My bad. They finally hired the supervisors to replace me yeaaaaaaaa :clap2: . Now we'll all have to meet to figure out the training schedules etc. So I'm going to have to move my desk....they said they'd give me an office but, considering there isn't one open office in the suite we'll see where they put me...ummm in a closet? lol. Who knows..probably another cubicle. I'm not happy about that but, not much I can do about it really. Complaining won't get me an office if there isn't any space ya know? We'll see what happens. One day at a time. I've been pretty chipper lately and I guess I can chaulk that up to extra spirituality within in me lately. I've obtained my Reiki II training, balanced my chakras (meditation) and well....I really feel good. It's working and I'm going to keep doing it dang nabbit lol. Now...if I could only Reiki myself into doing exercise hmmm. Have to work on that lol. I really really REALLY want to be below 200 for the New Year....a gift to me. Means I need to get up and work for it. Anyone up to some type of exercise challenge? Something simple like 2 days out of 7 for the first 2 weeks, 3 days out of 7 for the next 2 etc until we build up to 3-4 days a week of something for 30 min a day? Anyone wanna join me? Chrispy and I are going to start November 6th week...come on gang...WE can do it! ok gonna go surf a bit and then start some work...unless someone wants ta play and pull me away :guess hee hee LOVE YA!

Welllllllllllllllll hidey hohoho neighbors, No I'm not stress free...more like delirious I think lol Stinking tired..yeap that be me. Auntie Flo came right on over for her monthly meeting with me and she's got my panties in a bunch..errrr not literally hahaha. Things at work are just nuts. (Sounds like a theme here huh Bean?) I'm in job limbo and it's tough. They still haven't picked a supervisor to take my place and it's going to take quite some time to transition. The current account manager is so busy doing his new duties that he really doesn't have much time to do the managing of the account. I feel like I'm doing double duty and have been for quite a while. I've told my boss...well my supervisor position boss...about what I"m going through and as much as she understand she's unable to help me. My new boss...isn't really my boss yet...cause I haven't moved into the job yet. UGH. LIMBOOOOO and I have a bad back lol Thissssss toooo shallllllllllll passssssss. Ok I feel better hahaha. Bean - It is terrible that a few abusers change things for everyone but, let me spin that one. I work in an office of about 80. Of which 60 are office staff like you and me. We kinda had flex time but, as usual people abused it. We work with insurance companies and they work business hours. We can't do our work without them being there. Some staff came in really early before the ins companies...others came in really late working past the ins comp hours. Hence wasted, unproductive hours were being worked. Sooo my company kinda curbed that a bit. Now we have 3 shifts to pick from. Of course the abusers....they're back lol. You just can't win. It sucks in a way but, when you're a supervisor or manager...well sometimes you just have to do this stuff to run the company better. Every business is different though...but for the healthcare business I know we had to do it too. Of course there are always other things that people abuse and ruin for people like breaks, lunches, snacks etc. I really hate it when they ruin stuff for others. Like you I work more than my 8 a day...usually more like 10-11 for me and sometimes weekends. Craziness huh? I think we all need to find a business we enjoy and can do from home hee hee. Sorry the abusers ruined it for you. Cindy - I haven't seen john's thread. Not sure I know who John. I tend to keep to our thread since all the other trouble was out there...guess I need to venture more. Sooooo ya gave blood...you're such a sweetie for doing that. I tried to give blood But me veins say no, no, maybe, nope lol. I was able to give once but the person taking it had to stay with me and manipulate the pint bag so the blood would keep flowing. I tried again and it was a no go. I said "can't ya take it from my neck or something" lol I was serious! I have AB+ so they really need it but, I can't give it DH gives double reds when he goes. He's do to give again. He's got perfect veins and the nurses are like vampires seeing him come around the corner hahaha. Darcy - I'm glad I put a smile on your face or give ya a chuckle. So ya wanna come train my Jake. The dang dog just doesn't get it haha. I love him, he's adorable but errrrrrrr he's kinda thick in the skull hahaha. Was out walking on my pool cover again grrrr. I'm so afraid it will rip and he'll sink. We have to go get a fence to put up on the deck so he won't go a walking and playin in da water. Silly dog. He's my chewer too UGH. Put a chew toy in his pen to keep him busy...oh it sure did. He ripped it to shreads...Hey momma come see what I did. As he wags his tail at me lol Picky bushes seem to love him too! he drags in all kinds of things lol Eileen - Glad to hear something is helping you but, I certainly hope they can do something to stop it permanently for you. I just hate having to take medicines. Tell Boss Man he's a pain in your butt that is radiating to your back hee hee. You'll have a day off then for sure huh? hee hee my bad Betty - Did you say 84? Holy scorcha (said with Massachusetts accept). We haven't had temps over 65 I think in over two weeks. DH and my mom are going on a motorcycle run from Boston to Salem on Sunday. It's for Muscular Dsytrophy (spelling?). My mom has leathers...I do not and won't order them until I'm closer to goal so my riding days are over for the season. It's ok though cause mom loves it and hasn't been able to go in quite some time. Have you been able to ride your bike? Patty - How are you making out with the school? So sorry you have to go through all that stuff to get what your boys deserve. I realize resources aren't always easy for school systems but, come on. You're boys are lucky they have a momma like you who will fight for them. So many children don't have that. You're amazing to me...you do so much...I wish you the best. Love and light to you and your boys. Mandy - I'm so sorry about your kitty :ban: I haven't lost cuddly pet. I lost Herbie my parakeet when I was a teen and a hamster my son had when he was little but, that's it. I now have two beautiful golden retrievers that I love....so I can only imagine what you're going through. Bless his soul for being such a good pet and I'm sure he's purring and sitting on someone specials lap right now keeping them company Mary - Do employers ever speak of raises other than promotions or annual reviews? I swear if they can get away with it they do but, what can you do.....make your case if you feel you deserve one. List all your duties before they laid people off (or fired them) and make a separate list of all the duties you now have to do in addition to them. The hours your working etc. After preparing it all...there is no harm in asking. The worse they can say is no and you're salary stays the same...but if they say yes....yippee for you right? The apple sounds nice I make them during the holidays....caramel, two or three different types of chocolate drizzled on top and some candies or nuts. Make nice gifts. Kat - Thanks for the website hint I'll have to go surfin. Her books are fun aren't they? They definately keep my interest..which can be hard to do after working 10 hours lol. How is DH doing today? How are you holding up? Chrispy - Girl....you're moving right along. I see that ticker moving. Wahoo for you! How are those mushies? and.....LEAVE THOSE scars alone will ya lol I know I'm missing peeps..and I'm so sorry :faint: advanced only goes back so far Hope everyone is doing well and shrinking. Bend and stretch and bend and stretch...ummm my fingers as I'm typing that is hahahaha bye bye

Hey everyone, Things are crazy as usual at work but, home is good :girl_hug: Thank goodness for that. Reading up on ya'll and enjoying this peaceful thread. Boy NE had been a bit chilly. The leaves were beautiful last week but, after one heck of a windy night over the weekend not many left. Our basketball court looks like a field with pine needles covering it all. We got our boat and pool covered just in time. Poor DH...fishin' season is done for him now football hahaha. Seems I'm always watchin something sporty whether I wanna or not. I sooo miss my tv in the spare room So I've taken to readin while the shows are on. Getting into some Janet Evanovich books. The Bloom series is great...nothing gorey, some romance yet mystery in them. Nice stuff...relaxing. I picked up Joel Osteen's book to start reading. Nice man..nice way of thinking. I think I'll read through this one then go back to the others Lately with the cool weather I've been in the cooking/baking mood. Just finished baking two banana breads tonight. My son is on a kick so I figure at least some fruit is going into his body. The recipe only calls for 2 cups of sugar so I substitute 1 cup splenda and 1 cup sugar. Doesn't seem too bad when you're making two breads. Now I'm thinking.....Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread yummmmmm. Have to make that one later. I'll substitute 1/2 the sugar with splenda and the oil for applesauce. Helps cut back on the cals...the guys will never know hee hee. Anyone make anything different lately? Tired of the same ole recipes. I think I'll go hunting for some crockpot recipes again. Nighters all.....hope you're all doing well and shrinking!!! Hugs

Hello All, Went to Savers today but, didn't see much there. Seems all picked over. Mom says they sometimes have everything at 50% off and thinks they did that yesterday since there wasn't much left in the store. It's hit or miss with that type of store. We had fun though..went to lunch after and just got home. It's now 2:44pm and I have to start doing some work I took home to do to get me ahead of the game this week. Has anyone spotted the crockpot thread yet? Some nice recipes on it just in case you're interested

May I ask a question about your crock pots? Mine has low and high settings and I often find that the low still makes things bubble/boil to the point that it makes me uneasy about leaving it all day. (umm the point of a crock pot lol) Does anyone have one that has a timer that switches it from low to warm or a better one that doesn't have this same problem? Just curious. Would hate to buy a new one to have the same problem again. Thanks in advance for your input.

I had a nice long post and POOF! Soo the short version lol Nana - Glad you got the Psych visit overwith. She was late 45 mins for my appt so you did good lol I loved how she got all huffy and told me she didn't think anyone was there and that I shouldn't of been in her office. Well when I got there the sign on her door said take a seat and please complete a survey. The door was wide open. The only survey's I saw were on a table next to her desk with a seat at the table soooo I went in, took a survey was filling it out at the desk thinking....wow...what about HIPPA this shouldn't be wide open but, did as the directions told me and completed the survey while my husband sat on the window sill looking out the window. She came and YELLED at my husband telling him to go wait in the hall (rudely said) then chastised me for being in the office and not waiting at the hall. I told her right there and then the door was wide open with the survey's INSIDE how did she think that directed people when the sign on the door says to sit and complete a survey? She backed off and started her thing. Geesh! Had I not needed the eval done I would of had a few choice words for her because that just wasn't right. I'm shocked BIDMC hasn't gotten more complaints. (Angi if you're reading this....We're not the first two that had something happen. Read prior posts lol) Dez that's awesome about the jeans! Chrispy, Rainbow, dreamin, aaamom, morph, Hope you're all doing well and shrinkin! Hugs

Maggie it's great you started this thread. I'm sure you're helping many by letting them know there is still hope. Congrats to you!
  24. Darell, it's most important that you keep hydrated. You really have to keep sipping all day. You will feel week for the first few weeks until you're able to get more than just a sip in every few minutes. Swelling can take some time to go down. I didn't feel like eating or drinking for about a week but, I knew I had to get the fluids in. Each physician/surgeon has rules that they want you to follow. Was one of your requirements to see a nutrionist? They help out alot with what to drink/eat and when. The first 8 weeks are all about healing they told us. We were on clear liquids for 3, then full liquids for 4, then we could go on to more solid food. The reasons behind all the liquids is to help you heal. They don't want your stomach churning too much because part of the surgical technique is to put a flap of the stomach over the band and stitch it down to hold the band in place. Those stitches need to heal. If you're worried you're not getting enough Fluid in....you really should call your doc. It will take time though so sip, sip, sip. What form of medication did you take? If it's in pill form you need to check with your pharmacist to see if you're able to cut the pill so it's in pieces no bigger than a birth control pill. Thats what I was told. So my blood pressure medicine had to be quartered or crushed before I took it. There are some medications that also come in liquid form which is perfect. Ask your pharmacist to help you with any medications you take. Congrats on your new band!
