Hidey Ho friends of NJ threadville....I still think it's funny how I landed here Totally clueless and just talking in threads lol. Now this is home Soooo...today....my Christmas tree is in the same state it was the week before Christmas HAHAHA. Naked! DH has to take it down and put it in the attic. Hmmm wonder how long that will take aye? Since he's watchin the Football game I think it won't be happening today and he's working tomorrow so it won't happen then unless I do it. Since I'm afraid of going in the attic...looks like I might have it around for another week hahaha. I got a new CD called Angel Symphony...I LOVE IT...I get goosebumps listening to it. I like to have it playing while I'm on the computer...it helps relax me along with my waterfountain. I'm liking the changes I'm making in my office here at home. I bought some new pictures for in here too from Kirklands. They are Earthy tones with dark stained carved wooden frames. One says "Fruit of the Spirit. Live by the Spirit...Love, Joy, Peace, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control" So thinking when I read it it will help me along my weight loss path...can't hurt right? The other two have 9 blocks in each and some of the blocks have printed a single word like Patience, Hope, Faith, Wisdom, Peace, Joy, Play, Love, Sing and Dance. I'm liking these. They match really well with the tan fabric of the futon. Kinda changing this room around a bit so it's not so GIRLY for DH lol. Most of the stuff is from my other house so it's all angels and hearts etc. So this should be good for us both. BIL, SIL and nephew came over for dinner. I made Baked Ziti, heated up some crusty bread and made a chocolate cake. I had some of the ziti and passed on the rest. I still get full really fast and that's a good thing...umm...sometimes hahaha. I have to be VERY careful how I chew and what types of meats I eat because I easily get stuck if I don't. Enough rambling... Patty - We're going to see what we can do for ya hon. I'll get all the info from ya and call around to the contacts I have from work. More than happy to help you at least figure out what you're covered for, where you're covered, what type of plan you have etc. Don't fret....one step at a time and we'll get there. As far as the smoker....you're right it is tough. Do you happen to know if there is another door she can go out of to smoke? So maybe an alternate can be asked of her? The fan thing is a great idea if you can make it blowout and have another window blow in on the opposite side. Darcy - I think it's great that you're taking up that challenge. You are much braver than I. I thought like Kat did...gee that's 3 miles a day and if you miss one then what? I know I wouldn't make it. I wish you the best with it though especially since you're hitting the treadmills at the gym! Plus congrats on the year without smoking! That's awesome! Cindy - I can't eat french toast at all. Ohhh I miss it! Even better when it's da hubby cooking huh? heh heh My DH makes awesome breakfasts too but, seems I'm stuck with soft poached eggs. It's the easiest Protein for me to get down that tastes good. I either have those or cottage cheese for breakfast. Sorry about your 45/15 plan but, I totally know how easily that can happen lol. These computers are addicting too! Mandy - Chili certainly sounds good on cold nights I went to a restaurant with DH last night and ordered some but, by the time I got it I had already had 2 drummies and a piece of crusty roll...MISTAKE and I should know better. The bread did me in and I couldn't eat anything. It's in my refridge for lunch tomorrow My guys are watching the Patriots hoping they'll be in the superbowl too. Maybe they'll be there with your team Betty - What was for dinner that was cooking when ya left? hee hee I love hearing what you make because it all sounds so yummy. We should trade off recipes. Between you and Eileen's Low Carb thread yummmmm. Eileen - Speaking of the Low Carb Thread...I met with a bunch of MASS bandsters yesterday and told them about it. They're going to take a peek and hopefully add more recipes too it too. I have to look some up to post there as well. We can never have too many recipes. How are you doing? Going Commando? OUCHY thats gotta hurt hahaha Bean - Is your Christmas Tree down? Did you beat me and I missed it? Kudos to you for going to the gym 5 days that's freaking awesome! You inspired me that day to get on my stationary bike but, heaven forbid I kept it up. UGH. Right now I'm exercising the right of the gym to take the dues out of my checking account without me going. UGH. I told DH we really need to get back to it starting Monday...he said "YES DEAR" oh that was encouraging hahaha. I'll bug him again and if he doesn't go I told him I'm going myself. If I go myself...I'm hiring a Trainor for a few nights lol. Hmmm I think he's going now hahaha. Kat - Cigarettes in Massachusetts are over $5 a pack I believe. WOWza what an expensive habit. I'm so glad I never started. DH used to smoke close to 3 packs a day before I met him. If he still did that I wouldn't be with him...can't stand the stuff. Congrats on 16 years without them! Stand proud on that one! Great job on Curves too! Chrispy - Don't forget 3 days liquids, 3 days mushies with ya PB per BIDMC. ME...depending on how bad it was...tested the waters. If it wasn't bad I had liquid right after and then something mushy the same day. The next day back to normal stage. You're going to have to pay attention to your own band though. Sorry it happened but, I think we've all gone through it....ummmm 2nd fill BE very careful! Can't go much farther back here...Cass, Pat, Anne...HOW GOES IT? Gonna go travel the threads. Hugs!

It was AWESOME meeting everyone today and alot of fun. Nice to know the war stories aren't too different huh? Maybe we can do a get together again soon. I think we should try to do one every month or every other month if possible. As they say...there is power in numbers and we have each other. I wouldn't mind hosting it at my house sometime if you folks would like. I realize it's kinda far for some though. But if we wait until summer we can meet and have a cookout here and use the pool, horse shoe pit, volleyball net and basketball court (came with the house lol) if it happens to rain plenty of room inside too...we can take turns riding my stationary bike.......NOT! hahaha Anyway, I've very glad some of you benefitted from the clothing. I know I appreciated my friends doing that for me as well. Sure helps save money when you're not going to be in a size for a while. You all looked awesome and I can't wait to have another get together!

Hey everyone....GREAT meet today in Braintree. It was fun to put faces to screennames and we had a great time together. I hope we can all get together again soon! -
See you there!!!! Can't wait!
-
Oh yea...the underwear dilemma...still can't figure out the number size thing so XL in the tummy squeezin kind works for me hahaha
-
Patty....I'm sorry about what you're going through. Think positive my friend....you wanted the surgery and you'll get the surgery. Friends of mine had to pay that large amount as well and the doc allowed them to just pay a little each month. Better that then him not getting anything at all! Ask your doc if he/she would be ok with you being on a budget or payment plan. I know where I work...as long as the patient is paying, we don't say a word. Good luck hon! I'm thinkin of ya. Well...finally my computer was moved to my new office. Furniture is in, electric set, cables set, now computer. So Tuesday when I go in I have to set it all up. I already have a picture picked out to hang on my wall it says "CHARACTER" "Be true to your work, your word, and your friends" Yeap...I rike dat, I rike it arot! It's got that crackle look to it. Tomorrow I'm going with Chrispy to meet 10 other Massachusetts Bandsters. Should be alot of fun. We're both looking forward to it. Has anyone else here gone to one of your local get togethers with bandsters from LBT? Well...my tummy is a bit off today. Ate my lunch a tad too quickly and lets just say it left me just as quick. DUMMY, I know better but, sometimes if I'm working while I'm eating it happens. Today it did. Feel fine once it's gone but, I know it's not good to do that. Played it safe with dinner. We ordered pizza from Papa John's but...I really don't enjoy it anymore so I get the chicken tenders. I ate 3 with the honey mustard sauce and put the rest away. .....Last visit with my doc he said if I keep having acid reflux I'll have to have some fill taken out...I'm not to that point yet but, I'm keeping track of how often I have it. So far it's about once or twice a week and two tums gets rid of it. Is that bad? I'm able to eat and drink ok...well at least I think so other than today or during TOM. TOM really makes things a mess. Anywho...enough about that lol Other than the plans Saturday, I've got a free schedule the rest of the weekend...so Bean....do you think I should take my Christmas tree down? heh heh

What's the worst thing someone said to you?
SherryW replied to annieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
worse for me....The day after I had my son and I was still in the hospital my mom comes to visit and says GEE YOU STILL LOOK PREGNANT. Ummm thanks ma love ya too babe lol. I know now she just wasn't thinking because she's struggled with her weight and still does. She totally encourages me right now too but, man....the hormones were already in a rage and to have that said OUCH! -

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeesh folks I couldn't find this thread for anything! I did a search on Boston Meet, BIDMC Meet, Massachusetts bandsters, MA band lmao the only reason I found this now was because I cheated and looked at Chrispys last posts hahahaha. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS I'm so in. Can't wait to finally meet some fellow bandsters that I've been chattin with. Soo do you think Joe's can handle this many bandsters hahaha. This should be lots of fun! I'm so excited! I get to drive up with Chrispy and chit chat the whole way....then hook up wit da goils and giggle, laugh and share experiences. NIIIIIIICE. Hmmm...hey....idea here...I have a bunch of clothes that are size 22 and 20 and some 18s, that I'm no longer using. I'm willing to bring them with me if you girls would like to pick through them? I'm sending some to a friend from Michigan but, she doesn't want the jeans cause she has plenty of causual things so I'll bring em with me. What do you think? Anyone else have things they'd like to bring? Do you like the idea? If not that's ok too I'll donate them...no sense in good clothes going to waste right? I was very fortunate because my friend Jenn JUST LOVE HER!, gave me a bunch of her clothes..she was smaller than me when we started banding so it's worked out very well...for me anyway. So I'd like to pay it forward too

In one sentence: The best thing I've experienced since being banded is....
SherryW replied to Lap_dancer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The best thing I've experienced since being banded is.... Getting into younger looking clothes and pjs and my husband saying...honey you're looking so sexy. (Are you talking to me? hahaha) -
Whew got here before it turned into Wednesday hahaha. Barely making it but, i'm here for a bit. Just wanted to say hello to everyone, HELLO and make sure you're all ok. I'm exhausted to say the least and looking forward to hitting the sack. Darcy - I'm serious when I say...I've never felt more balanced or at peace with myself as I do right now. Take a peek around the internet regarding Reiki. I forget what first got me interested in it but, I'm glad it came my way. I hope you're feeling better soon. Bean...my tree is still up...all decorations included lol The intentions are there but, I can't get my butt to do it! Chrispy...sorry I missed dancing tonight DBIL was glad we were there though...Gosh the food DSIL prepared. Two roasted chickens, mashed potatoes, squash, gravy, spaghetti and meatballs, salad, two types of Cookies and ice cream. Good Gosh! She had enough there for an army and there were only the 5 of us lol. All was good though...they were happy we were there. Mary...as you can see above I haven't been to dancing. I've wanted to be but haven't made it for over a month now. Hopefully next week I can do-see-do again lol Betty...when you see a penny don' forget it's an angel letting you know they are near. Doesn't matter what side is up....IN GOD WE TRUST is on every one of them (Did I send you that story?) Cindy - thanks for that survey thing I love those. It's great to learn about you gals I didn't realize you had so many animals...I guess I never added it up before even though I know you've mentioned their names. Eileen - Congrats on your review and raise! It's always nice when they don't base your review on the last few weeks. Hate it when managers andd supervisors do that. I never did that to my people but had it happen to me. Me...I keep notes on everything throughout the year good and bad so no one is shocked and the employee gets a fair review...but that's me. Kat - I can soooo picture you taking care of that woman. I can tell from your pictures you have a heart of gold. Sounds like you're on your way to finding your angel too well now it's almost midnight so I have to scram. 5am is going to come WAY too quick and I have a meeting in Boston tomorrow YUCK. 45-1 hour drive to work then another 30-45 to Boston. Ooo just thought of something... I need to get gas in the AM lol. Better go lol Hope you're all doing well and shrinking!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Looks like this thread way dying out and I wasn't helping it along either. Hopefully I'll be able to help a little more now. How is everyone doing with their after holiday stuff? I still have my tree up and that needs to come down tonight or so. I unfortunately put on a few pounds not during the Christmas holiday but between it and New years...some of that is due to the fact that I forgot to take my bloodpressure meds UGH. I'm back on track with the new year and hoping to be in ONDERLAND soon! -
Hello everyone...sorry I haven't been around but, I've been peeking. I was kind of "nesting" this week as well as reading. Basically taking a personal journey that I'm still on I guess. Yesterday, Saturday, I became a Reiki Master...I had my third Attunement. Reiki for me is a spiritual journey. I'm glad I'm on it. I guess that's why my posts, like Darcy and others have mentioned, are pretty upbeat. Since my first attunement I can honestly say I haven't angered like I used to. This redhead could have a quick temper, short fuse believe it or not. Anywho...I know some don't believe in it, others are curious about it and some really understand it....and I understand that. I just thought, since we're so close here that I'd share my journey with you So this chicka still has studying to do but, in a very good way Chrispy...DH said your new place is very nice and he's really glad you're away from that turkey downstairs. Unreal how out of control he is. Whatever happened when the maintenance buy heard him complaining? Betty...it was very nice of you to get that woman a hot chocolate. You believe in angels hon....you're working for them You don't know it but, you probably just bought one a hot chocolate Eileen ...what ya doing today thats keepin ya busy? We're having awesome weather here so I got outside for a bit. Need to take down my Christmas lights soon too. I'll do that after my post here I guess. Darcy...thank you for the kind words regarding my posts. My hip is better, thank goodness the chiro was able to get me back in place quick. Sometimes I wait a little to long to go and end up having to make a few trips. Caught it in time this time around. How is the dog business going? I have two here that could use some training. Man.....they need some grooming too. Jenny lets Jake chew on her ears and the saliva mixed with fur isn't a pleasant smell UGH. They need baths today too but DH is snoring on the couch...you know watching the football game. lol Kat - that's great you have all your decorations down. I guess I'll be the last one to take mine down just like I was the last getting them up hahaha. I'll get there though. Annual reviews...UGH....don't like doing them. Not that my staff is bad more like trying to come up with the right words for things all the time is hard. You have to say both the negative and the positive in such a way that the employee doesn't go off on it! Good luck to DH on that! Cindy - I remember having pictures taken for our church directory with my EX. I remember having fought on the way there and the smiles were so fake. I guess I wasn't happy then with him either but, I stuck it out for another 6-7 years. Did I read you're going on a cruise? You definately should tell the Host about your band. When I went on mine I didn't tell them and found them haunting me about my food, wondering why I was taking so long until my DH pulled the Host aside and explained. After that the guys got their apps, food and dessert at a faster pace than me and I was able to take my time without being haunted. Also....he knew to bring me extra gravy and he made sure my meats were extra tender My son is allergic to Nuts so when we told him that as well my son was able to pick from the menu the night before and the Host made sure his food was prepared separate from everyone elses. They truly do bend over backwards for you when you let them know! Where are you going? Mandy - Barley is a cute name for a dog! Peeing all over UGH.....we never let my Jake out of the kitchen because I was afraid of that. We got him fixed so he's allowed out of the kitchen AFTER he goes pee outside lol. Good luck breaking him of that! Bean - Sorry you're going through that yucky stage at work. I've been there a few times. Have you thought about it and what you'd like to do instead? Maybe get some training, schooling or something so you can move on to something else? I know there was a program I used one that was like a survey. AFter answering it it pointed you to some careers and jobs that would fit your interests...I bet if you googled it online you could find something similar. Good luck and know I'm thinking of ya. Anne - Oh I hear ya on the long posts being wiped out. I've had it happen more than once or I've had to leave the computer only to come back to see the screensaver on and my post completely gone. Yuck! How are things going? You getting ready for the new job? When did you say you're starting? Ann, Allison, Cassandra, Mary, Dianne....hello goils. This thing doesn't go back far enough again but, I'm thinking of ya. Hope you're all doing well. Well, off to get the stuffed peppers out of the oven before DH hits the chips. Got chicken boiling on the stove to make chicken Soup too yummmm. Maybe it will help get these sniffles in line, they say Grandma was right and that homemade chicken soup does the trick Hope you're all doing well and shrinking...oh and my BP meds seem to help get rid of 2 of the pounds. Now for the rest! lol
-
Hi Cassandra good luck with your fill today. I can tell you my experiences have been easy ones and it didn't hurt me. It's a funny feeling but, doesn't bother me or make me nervous anymore. I'm with Mandy I felt more restriction with my 2nd fill but, again every doc and patient is different. Some docs put quite a bit in the first fill others go easy. I know my doc usually puts in 1-1.5 the first fill. Good morning everyone...I can't play as I'm already running late. Hope to get here tonight...still reading up on things for my class on Saturday but, I should be able to pop in TGIF oh yea oh yea oh yea hee hee
-
Cindy...pass me your picture and I'll make you a new avatar if you'd like. I know you mentioned it before so I'm volunteering
