Most guys HATE going to the doctors or needles is what I'm guessing
-
Chrispy - You are doing so good there girl. I'm glad your appointment went well today Deb - So are ya thinking about a fill? You truly have done well going without one. I don't think I would of done so well myself. Although I'll admist there are times I think this 2nd fill is too tight. I'm doing better now but when I first got it....oh boy. I'm thankful though that I truly don't feel so much hunger like I did before the band. Good luck with your decision. timeforchange - Wow you just heard you were accepted for surgery and you're already going this month? That's great. How long has the total process taken you? Dr. Jones has been very good and the staff if very informative. I can't say I have any regrets having gone with BIDMC. It's also great knowing they are the only accredited hospital for this surgery and we were lucky enough to go there. christine - have you had any luck with the stomach growling? Did you get it to stop? Have you tried sugar free pudding cups? They were great for me to hold back the hunger. Nana - Are you back from RI yet? Hope you enjoyed your trip. wjt - how are things going? Hey Dez - How's it going? My cold is still here a little bit but much better. Did you get some sleep? heh heh Hugs to you all. Hope you're all doing well and shrinking

Hi Cass, I know I don't go regularly like I used to and there were a few days since surgery that I felt really bloated. I tried the Ex-lax but even with that not much happened lol. Think about the food you ate...was it out of the norm, really salty? the alcohol probably didn't help matters if you haven't drank in a while not because of the alcohol in it but the sugars. I'm glad you're feeling better though. Just got done cleaning house even though there is more to do I'm retired for the day. Nothing like working hard to clean it only to have two guys in your life flop things down where they don't belong so I'm giving up. Of course I say this but knowing my BIL and SIL are coming over and my SIL and I will be stuck in the office while the guys watch the football game...means I have to YET AGAIN clean the futon of crap that's not mine. It seems to be the local drop off for the biggest guy in the house. Hmmm it might end up on his side of the bed to do something with....then again why bother cause I'll end up having to clean it GRRRRRRRRRR. I think this is one of the only things that gets my goat! I have to BEG for help and even then I have to remind the guys they said they'd help. unreal...oh well....spose I'll take a breather and get my ars cleaning this crap up yet again. Ever get the feeling that's all you do on weekends is clean? So work 50-55 hours a week and come home and do more....Can ya tell I'm not peaceful today lol. I'll get there....just needed to vent a little first lol. I know I'm not the only one that goes through this but I wanted to let you gals know it's not just you either lol. Hmmm looking over...seeing the fish tank is getting cleaned...hmmmm...guess I'll stop complaining about the futon huh? lmao Rather pick up coats, sweatshirts, tools, books, magazines, socks from the futon than pickup fish poop lmao (God works in mysterious ways to remind us to shut up huh? hahaha)

What's the ettiquette?
SherryW replied to sherilynn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd say send a card to each group. -
Welcome Christine and welcome to Bandland. Did you have your surgery at BIDMC too? The growling tummy sounds kinda funny I bet too I found drinking milk helped or carnation instant breakfast because of the protein in it helped with the growling.

PLEASE HELP! is acid reflux a def sign of slippage?
SherryW replied to aligirrl77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Eating after 7pm for me is a total no no. I end up with acidy/sour stomach. Also if what I eat is too heavy it will happen. You're going to have to listen to your body...like you said in your own posting IF you eat late at night or too much you're up at night. Gotta change that then and eat earlier, chew well and eat slow. Sometimes it is a medical condition though that causes it and medication is needed to releave it. Happens to so many people who don't have the band to bood. My doc said another thing that could cause it is if the band is too tight. The acid used by your stomach to digest your food can't make it down to the lower stomach so it ends up in your esphogus if you eat too much. Good luck and I hope you feel better! -
This pogo thing...do you pay for it? I just played a game with valentine's candy of all things hahaha. Figured since I'm not suppose to eat it that I can aleast make it dissappear calorie free on me hahaha Things are FROZEN here in NE. Went to bring my car to the dealership for work and DH slid down the driveway standing up lol. Of course he loved that and me I'm worried about throwing out my back. Babysteps I had to take but made it lol. Found out this service is gonna hit the wallet...ewwww. Nuttin wrong with the car just scheduled maintenance. For over $400 they better be "Pimping my ride" hahaha. My Reiki friend and I are headed to the spiritual store today. She wants to pick up some cards...I think I'll look at some books and music. I have to say everyone who has come into my office at work has loved my CD I've been playing hahaha. They keep saying how nice it is in there...maybe some of this calmness is rubbing off on them aye? All I know is I'm feeling so much better spiritually that I'm sticking with it DH and his bro are at my friend's (same one) working on her spare room...sheetrock, plastering. Yeap my DH is a jack of alot of trades...thank goodness. Anywho...gotta go get ready as she's on her way over. Ohh yea I can breath!!!! Still coughing a little but, breathing is heavenly lol. Hopefully I'll get back here for personalize things for my buddies. I don't know what I'd do with ya peeps. Love ya! Have a beautiful, relaxing, day!

Welcome baj3mac. Lots of reading in here and lots of support. Glad you joined. -
Kynekke - There is lots to choose from but, like anything else it all gets boring. Here are some of the things I have for lunches: Cottage cheese Soups seafood salad chicken salad tuna salad meatballs (either from subshop ordered without the roll or leftover) meatloaf (left over from dinners) Stouffers stuffed peppers (insides are really easy to eat) omelet rolled lunch meat with cheese cheese and wheat crackers Boston Market turkey with squash those are my usuals. Oh and if you own a crockpot that will help you get more Proteins in that won't get stuck. I made chicken cacciatore in mine and had that for lunches last week. The chicken was super moist and shredded so it went down easy peasy. Good luck!

Nana I'm surprised they'd even try the secondary insurance without the approval from Medicare. I'm sure your 2nd ins is going to want to see the approval.

I believe she was packing to go away for the weekend...think I saw that in the Jan thread

good work there Deb

I was bad can't add to your total miles really. I'll have to do better this month huh? Of course once I can breath freely it will be much easier. Cold is getting better but, without being gross...it's still very hard to breath with all the snifflin and throat coughin. I did see the doc, checked me for strep and I haven't heard anything so I guess that's a good sign. My blood pressure was great and doc wants me to cut my BP med in half. I see her again in 4 weeks to check it and if it's fine she said I can go off the meds. wahooo! She was thrilled with my weightloss but of course she forgot I got the band. UGH. I had to remind her again. She wants me to keep losing...ummm DUH lol. last night made home made chicken noodle Soup and a roast with potatoes and carrots. Even washed the kitchen floor...no clue where all the energy came from. Tonight...worked so late DH cooked me a meatloaf yummm. hmmm trying to decide what to make this weekend. I think I'm going for a big crockpot of meatballs and sauce and maybe some no pudge brownies. Anyone have that recipe so I don't have to pay $3.99 just for the mix that needs my own yogurt. Hmmm I'll have to google that one heh heh. Well gonna go check email and hit the sack. Couldn't sleep last night with the dang sour stomach thing. UGH. I figured out it's because I ate too late. So made myself a promise not to eat past 8 tonight and made it but I better go to bed before I blow it. TOmorrow I'll make the cut off 7:45 until I work it down to 7pm. I should know better and not eat so late anyway so Water it's been since dinner. We'll see if this helps the weight loss. I'm coming close to my 1 year bandversary...wouldn't mind losing a few if I can. Anne.......I received a package today, you shouldn't have but I LOVE it! You're are very welcome and thank you for thinking of me. What a sweetheart! Hugs everyone...hope you have a wonderful night and the sweetest dreams. Vday is coming......what are ya getting your Valentine?

People who found their sweet spot - What do you think?
SherryW replied to LynnAnn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
the first bite thing sounds like the first bite is either too big or too dry and not chewed as well as it should be. I know that happens to me. Great meal, two-three bites that's it and I know I can't eat more. But being almost a year out I now know it's because I plain didn't chew it right in the first place. So I just wait until those bites finally go down and have the rest of my meal making dang sure I chew right lol. It must get easier as time goes by and we learn to slow down because I don't get that feeling nearly as much anymore. Good luck! -
so sorry about your friend Kat...prayers are being sent
-
Oh DH is always saying how I'm a cheap date now lol. Part of an appetizer does me in. Plus if I do order a meal he ends up with the rest for lunch the next day lol
-
congratulations folks..and best wishes on your banding journey!
-
Hmmm has anyone ever tried the Eclair dessert made with graham crackers and french vanilla pudding? Now thats a cake any bandster could eat...I would think making it out of sugar free pudding would really reduce the cal and make it more band friendly aye? hee hee sorry just had to add something here hahaha
-
high blood pressure and a BMI that high will help your cause to get the band. I had Tufts at the time and my BMI was 47 and I had HBP. They approved me no problem.
-
welcome WJT. Sounds like you're on your way to banding Good luck with your Psych eval and ultrasound :rose:
