Whew class is done and I'm POOPED. Lots of energy used up today. Pretty cool stuff though...took an Intergrated Energy Therapy Class or IET.
-
Alohajo, I know for me I can have the swallow test done at the hospital I had my surgery at. As a matter of fact they had me do one of those the day after surgery. You didn't have that done before leaving the hospital? Seems that 4 months after surgery you should be eating far more than protein shakes and soup because you're not going to get all your nutrition in that way. Do you happen to know if your surgeon put saline in the band prior to you leaving the OR? I know they have to test the band prior to putting it in by putting saline in it to make sure there are no leaks. Maybe he/she didn't take it all backout? Is your physician aware that you're unable to eat? Have you had checkups after your surgery? Are you meeting with a nutritionist and having your food intake checked for a balanced diet? Just curious because at this point you really should be on something more solid.

Just peeking in...hope everyone is having a good day. Busy weekend planned so not sure when i'll get back on here. Have an IET (Intergrated Energy Therapy) class all day tomorrow and a craft fair with my mom on Sunday. Oooo the start of craft fairs...I love it hee hee

Hmm didn't know this thread was here I ride but, mostly ride on the back with my DH doing the driving. Yamaha Midnight Venture....nice seat on it for me haha. I have to admit that sometimes the charity rides we do end with some kind of cookout and that food is hard for me. Mainly because they over cook it and dry it out so much. That part is hard but, if we do a regular ride with friends, we usually stop somewhere that I can manage to get something band friendly to eat. I'm over a year out so no issues with my band really other than having to watch the food I pick to eat.
-
It definately can be confusing that's why I was glad my husband was there to see the fill. I can't see anything because I'm laying flat on my back when it's done
-
We have a man in here? wahooo bought time huh? hahaha
-
Whew that was a long post...glad I didn't lose it hahaha Hugs

Ok I don't like the others so I'm not showing them. Chrispy came out so nice in them...I'm not so happy with mine. No I'm not looking for sympathy, it was the reality check I needed to push myself to get going again that's for sure lol. Something I'm still working on is being more supportive of myself as I truly am my worse critic. We're all good at that huh? So I got off my duff and bought myself an elliptical machine Thursday and DH was great putting it together for me last night so no excuses I gotta get on that thing today. I'm putting it out there right now....so I'll have to do it haha. I've cut back on the carbs since we got back from Disney and I lost 3 pounds, another 9 to go to get back to where I was in Jan waiting for 199 to show up. Now...to find myself a really good motivational CD to play while I'm working on myself. Eileen - I don't there are many Saturdays that a mommy, wifey can sit around in her jammies At least the thought is nice huh? We can dream. As far as the Water, actually that's another thing I've been pushing to get myself to do. I REALLY don't know what kicked in this time but, it did and while working I do get all of it in lately. It's the weekends I need to work on cause I tend to get so busy I forget to grab a bottle or carry it everywhere I go. hmm this is where the strap I got in disney would work huh? DUh! Our pool is getting closed up today...so sad. But the colors here are changing too, I do love that part of the season. Pat - You beautiful gal you. I really do like your new avatar, you look awesome. I bet it was alot of fun meeting Signgirl, I know I've always had fun when I've met peeps from online. Chris and I met a group last year in Braintree from the BIDMC group here. It was alot of fun and funny watching what everyone was trying to get to eat depending on their stages in the Band cycle. I've been craving going to the beach again....I'm hoping to get there just to sit and reflect and listen to the ocean. I think I need that balancing :woot: I'm so glad you're back with us. Signgirl - COME ON IN and join the fun! Jetti - Hmm how do I explain acid reflux. Its definately a burning tightness sometimes in your chest and it makes your throat feel funny. It's the acid coming up so it can burn some or alot. At night I had it so bad that from a dead sleep I would wake up swallowing and gulping to try to catch my breath because the acid had backed up all the way up to the top of my throat. It's not pretty when you have it really bad. You're one lucky person if you've never had it. Congrats on the Nutritionist! They are really helpful...another suggestion...try SparkPeople.com its free, they give great recipes and it helps you log your food. Very supportive website! Mandy - You're more then welcome and like the rest of us you need to cut yourself some slack. Cripe girl you lost over 80 pounds! (I sound like Chris yelling at me hahaha) Now...if I can get my ARS as small as yours I'll be posting pictures of me doing the cabbage patch :woot: You're doing awesome. Sosorry about the slight unfill....it's tough isn't it? We're looking to stop eating more than we should with the fill then we get the other stuff YUCK. I'm kinda sorta hoping for a slight fill myself this month but, I'm scared the reflux will come back. If I could only get my head to realize I'm full and stop instead of stuffing it more *sigh* I'm glad you're getting the bloodwork and I do hope they figure out whats making you so tired. You have gone through some major surgery there so maybe you're body is still adjusting too ? Kat - I don't know how you do it girl. I'm still shakin up about that bullet geesh! I'm assuming the hunting just happen to be in the woods you were driving by. They aren't having any sniper type problems are they? We had that here in NE before and it was pretty scarey, whether it's a bullet or a BB still scarey! I'm glad you're ok. Your eye didn't suffer any permanent damage did it? You sure went through alot with the ex's of you and your DH. God knew what he was doing when he introduced you two....you both appreciate each other more for it. Cindy - Still busy I see. AS far as chocolate man it's a bad time of year for that..Halloween is the start of the chocolate season huh? You know what I did this year....I usually get my Halloween stuff early so this year I did the same but, I got the small bags of Doritos instead of chocolate. I don't like those much so my hands aren't in the bags lol. The chocolate would of been gone already and I would have to buy more so I went this route this year. Seems to be working so far! Good luck with your cravings, just remember if you're going to eat it to SAVIOR it. I do that so it lasts longer and I can really think about what I'm doing when I eat it. One of those things I've been working on....I think about it and ask myself if I'm ok with eating it...if I can say yes with no guilt I eat it, if the guilt starts then I don't and put it back. It's hard to actually take the time to think about it though...takes practice. Good luck! Betty - I'm glad your AC is up and running again. Its gotta still be hot down there huh? I know Florida was really hot when we were there. Then again NE is in the 80's today..go figure, we're throwing off all the trees right now lol. Take the time and go out for a nice motorcycle ride my friend :woot: We're headed to Newport RI today with 9 other riders. Just a joy ride today, no charity ride. They do a Halloween ride to Salem MA later in the month but, I still don't have leathers or chaps for that one. Too cold for me. I just hate the thought of spending the money on leathers when I'm still trying to loose. Yet another incentive to get my rear in gear haha. Hows the foot? migbt/doc - Welcome back! I don't think we chatted much prior but, I remember seeing you in the thread before. Welcome back and dig right in :woot: Darcy - I'm happy everything worked out and your DD is with you. She is beautiful and boy can I see you in her :woot: I love the flute...started to take lessons but, cripe I couldn't find the time on Saturdays to keep going. I had to give it up. I still have my flute though :woot: Hmmm as far as digging up the stuff....I'm not sure on the military part. I needed to get my DH's info so he can at least get a veterine's card and he had to sign the stuff. I don't know if all records are public knowledge, I'm thinking they aren't. I did have to have my DH's SS#, DOB and approx years in the military in order to get the information from the government for him. How is everything at your new house? Did you find a place for everything? Patty - Sorry to hear about the trouble with the ex but, glad to hear you're getting yourself out there. Going to those singles things is a great thing to do for yourself. Smart thinking and keep keeping on, you're going to do fine! Hope the boys are doing well. Chrispy - Get your butt back in here girl! (Such a busy woman :woot: ) Did I ever tell you folks what a fantastic cook she is...dangerous, yeap it is. You ever need a nice Italian recipe look her up hee hee. I know she was cooking last night with her nieces over! Hmmmm I almost went for a visit hee hee. Ok I think I got everyone, well at least as far back at this thing will let me go. So gals.......it's October, tough seasons coming food, party, entertaining wise.......should we start posting low-cal delicious recipes to help each other through the seasons? Something we can take to these parties that are band friendly and diet smart? What do you think? Hey I'm willing to compile all the recipes into one file and email them out to everyone if ya want! THOUGHTS? Lets help pump each other up for a January start of NJ 2008 BIGGEST LOSER!

Eh I rotated the picture but, that didn't work oh well slant your head to the left and you'll see it hahaha. Isn't it cool how the Castle is lit up? Here is a great one of my Disney friend Chris I think you'll like this one.
-
I can't tell ya how much I hate having pictures taken STILL! I'm trying here girls... This one was taken the first night there. We loved the fact that Disney was dressed for Halloween We grew antenna's, it was Magic!
-
Ooo you can see my tattoo in that one
-
Chrispy I think you'll like the ones I picked lol Hmmmmm very interesting (Chris made me do it hahaha)
-
waahahah Pat I'm trying to find pictures that BOTH Chris and I like so ummm it might take a while lmao. Now to find one that a pic from the chest up..yeap that's the goal lmao. I think we complained about every picture of course it's not the picture's fault it's the chicks in it hee hee. I'll go looking now and see if I can find something
-
Mandy....my friend...YOU ARE SMALL! You look exactly like the pictures, you photo very well. Cut yourself some slack! Hello everyone...I hope you all have a great day. Just popped in but, have to get to work. Kat - Geesh girl! I would of had to replace my seat not just the windshield wowza! I'm so glad you're ok.
-
Testing 1 2 3...yeap I'm alive hahaha. Glad to hear things are working out for everyone. One day at a time is the best any of us can do. Stressing from work lately but, I keep telling myself, there isn't anything I can do to change these people so just let them vent, go with the flow and do the best I can. That's it, thats all any of us can do Hugs
-
Hmm last night for posting in Sept huh? Howdy there Pat - I love your new avatar and umm you're right they don't pickup after themselves lol. I think it's in the DNA labeled MAN hahaha Mandy - Aby was right..Jack was a cutie. Quite the actor too, he really had the right mannerisms and movements down correctly. Thank you for those pictures too Eileen - Busy woman...well I'm with you right now. I could of eaten the house had it been powdered with sugar today grrrrrr. DS was working and DH was on his motorcycle and I was home working from home on a Sunday grrrr. Year end so I had to but, bored...when I'm bored I eat. Man I need a fill but, I'm so afraid to get the reflux back. Are you going for another fill anytime soon? I'm hoping I can get one at my appointment in October. Betty - I wish I had the neighbors you do. No one around here offers and when I had a cookout and let them all know they didn't come over. They're friendly but, keep to themselves...well unless of course you don't want them to see something then of course they do hahaha Cindy - Another party or chair person of something aye? Woman..what will you really do with yourself when you truly retire? hahaha I'm glad it went well Kat - I think you're another busy one hauling wood etc. Heck I guess none of us gals get to rest huh? That's great that you got to hook up with an old friend again. I think that's great and even better that you now have something else in common I have to tell you Reiki truly has helped me out alot and I'm glad I can help others with it as well. I taught my first students this weekend so there are not two more Reiki I folks out there. I have two more in the waiting for a class as well. Darcy - I'm thinking of you and sending you light...I'll do the same for tomorrow. I wish you the best my friend...keep thinking positive. Welcome iCANdothis to the NJ thread. We'll be switching to the October one tomorrow or later tonight so keep an eye open for it I was excited to teach my first Reiki I Level class yesterday. We have two students and they really enjoyed the class and gave alot of positive feedback. Now it's up to my partner and I to make sure they do their self-work and check to make sure they're doing ok. We're excited for them and look forward to teaching them the next level of Reiki. It was just great knowing we've helped keep the tradition going. Spiritually it's done so much for me and my family actually. They may not practice it but, they get the benefits of me being a practioner of it. "The secret to health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor worry about the future, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly"~Buddha I just love that quote. Puts me in my place when I need it hahaha Well, the weekend went by fast again didn't it? I'm still questioning the size of underwear hahaha Oh and today I went to buy myself a sweater at Dress Barn because they have a buy one, get one 50% off sale. While in there I had a sweater in my hand and was looking at another when an older woman sales person started talking to me. She pointed out the sale and when I looked at this other sweater she said those don't run bigger. Basically I took it as that won't fit you the way she said it. I knew it would, heck it ran bigger than the sweater in my hand but, I wasn't giving her the satisfaction of a sale after that. Yeap she was skinny as a rail and I hate buying clothes already...that just quickly ended that trip. When I shop, just leave me alone unless I ask you for help...one of the reasons why I hate going in that store. I won't be going in anytime soon! Oh well...that certainly didn't help with the already feeling guilty about eating things I shouldn't today...she ended up adding to the yucky feeling today. So anywho....back to the drawing bored and eating better tomorrow. It's so much easier to eat better at work. Too busy to stop to eat too much junk or better yet...I don't have it readily available so it makes it easier to pass it up. Have a great night everyone. See you in October.

Happy Birthday Betty!

Hey everyone We're home ahhhhh. What a great trip! I can't say it was relaxing because we were on the go everyday for at least 10-12 hours each day but, it was so much fun. It was nice to be able to relax and see everything for the first time. The prior two times were not so good because I as with the ex and he's not so easy going. Chris and I were relaxed about what we were going to do and when we'd do it and truly we saw and did so much. Just about everything actually which was cool. The worse part was I had blisters on my feet like you wouldn't believe but, I was determined to not let it ruin the trip and walked on the damn things everyday. They pretty much got numb enough to walk on most of the time. The worse day was the last day but, that was an easy paced day. It rained, no poured the afternoon we got there so Chris and I bought these head bands that had wires with sparkly blue mickey heads on em and wore them all week. The best $6 we ever spent hahaha. They were alot of fun and actually people noticed them and we even got Free Fast Passes because of them and of course the fact that we dressed alike two of the days hahaha. We were in line for Tower of Terror because we couldn't get Fast Passes for them when all of a sudden a guy says Apparently you two are together here ya go and hands us 2 fast passes. We said thank you and asked how he knew we were together lol. He said the antenna's gave him the thought of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle >>>. Chris said that's ok I'll be Dumb if it gets me the passes, he said I was thinking more of Tweedle Dink but, HELL we didn't care hahaha. We got on the ride in 5 min rather than 40! Yippee!!! hahaha We also got in trouble by some snob nosed 20something chick because she said I screamed too much on a ride. Snot nose said "You know this ride was designed for 10 year olds, I think I'm deaf" WHATEVER BIT**! Chris and I had made friends with the guys in front of us in line and they thought it was alot of fun with us screaming. (I'll be honest, I really screamed cause I forgot how fast and rough the ride was and if I don't scream my stomach will flip...not so pretty!) Anyway we brushed that jerk off and kept going. Thankfully we never saw them again cause she would of heard us again but WORSE! Fun fun but, if Chris and I end up going on vacation next year...we've already vowed its a nice quiet resort where we can park our butts on beach lounges, with a drink in one hand and a book! AMEN Sista! Can I tell you the Lion King show was just awesome and ummm Cindy...the Dole Whips were awesome. I never had that before and man I wish they were around here...hmmm actually maybe i'm better off that they aren't hahaha. Chris is right...we had alot of fun meeting Mandy and her family. Talk about lots of information and hints about the park etc. Thanks for that Mandy!! It was great seeing the shows at night from Mexico and from the Hot Dog stand. Awesome views, quick exits Oh we got a bits relaxed at Planet Hollywood too hahaha. Talk about food YIKES but the drinks were great! I had the best time...spilling some secrets lmao. I think I surprised Chris with a few of them but, that's all in the past and all in fun *wink* Funny we were talking about how unromantic men can be and usually my hubby isn't a romantic but, when we came around the corner to my house there were four balloons in the front yard. Two red stars, one Welcome and one I Love you, floating above the hedges I told Chris ok I take it back, I guess he can be romantic. When I got in the house and up the stairs there was a beautiful bouquet flowers for me awwwww. Talk about feeling welcomed home. I guess he missed me hee hee. They even kept the house clean THANK GOODNESS! lol Thanks again Chris for a wonderful trip!

Betty - I'm so glad you got to ride your motorcycle I bet it felt wonderful! I'm glad your poison ivy is finally clearing up too. I haven't had that in ages...knock on wood. Hmmm, I've had blisters though haha. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Patty - hope your ex shows up to take the boys. How odd that he's not answering any phones. Geesh men can be weird and you need to tell him he needs to answer no matter what, I mean he has no clue if you're calling because something happened to one of the boys.

Pat - Girl....it was great to hear that sweet voice of yours this past week. It was so nice of you to call while we were in Disney. Would of been even more fun had you made it there too I'm glad to see you're hear and hope someday we can visit. Hmmmm Chris.....maybe we'll have to visit Pat on that vacation next year hmmm. She's near the Water lol. I bet she knows of some places we can go to enjoy the views too lol. What ya think Pat?

Eileen - What cha' doing in Maryland? I hope it's a good trip and not for a bad reason. I think I missed why you were going. Hope you enjoy some of the time there. It can be quite beautiful especially the harbour.

Cindy - How did you do with your parent association emails? Do you have a hard time getting people to volunteer for the things you plan? I know it was always the same people helping when I had to plan church fairs and stuff. The others would roll there eyes and just figure it will get done so why volunteer grrrr. Thanks for the hint about the dole whips yummy!

Angelica - Unfortunately, I'm not from NJ nor do I have BCBS of NJ. I wish you luck in your Quest for information. You know you can always call your patient advocate at BCBS and ask questions. They are very helpful I've found.

Kat - Girl....you've had quite the time these past months huh? I sure hope things slow down for you. How weird that that happened to your mouth. I hope its better today. I get so frustrated when the docs don't know what's going on! Sounds like I wouldn't of survived that night in the hotel...I think I would of ended up sleeping in the car. God bless ya! My prayers are out there for your DD hope it all works out.

Well, I'm sorry if I missed anyone.....it's definately not intentional...more of my mind still buzzed from the sugar rush of the week hahaha. Back to basics on Monday. Back to a Protein based diet until I can get this thing to have a slight fill again. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

OMG It's finally here YIKES. It's 6:20pm and I've been working on my packing since about 11am hahaha. I just got back from a Walmart run so I could pick up more tank tops, travel size shampoos etc. Man that added up quick! I think Chris and I have packed as if we were staying for a month hahaha. Oh well we don't want to forget anything, I'm just hoping I still fit in the clothes on our way back Those Mickey bars are gonna be killa! Chris and I decided we're not worrying about it while we're down there...but, when we get back we're going to do a challenge together. We want to be under 200 by January so that will give me 3 months to lose 10 pounds plus ummm any extra I pick up at Disney...fingers crossed on that being a VERY low number if anything. Well we'll see if I can get some shut eye tonight...all that keeps playing in my head is that Disney commercial with the little boy who runs to his sisters bed and says "I'm too excited to sleep!" haha Cindy - You certainly do keep busy. Look at you volunteering and working at the school while your daughter is on her trip. I would of loved for my mom to help out at school like that Kat - I missed what's going on with your mouth too. Did you hurt a tooth or something? How is your hubby doing? Again my sympathy is with you, your dh and the boys family. Gosh I don't know what I'd do if I lost my son It was scarey enough him being in the accident. Speaking of...DS is all set now and can walk around and carry things with no restriction We're so thankful for that! Patty - Sounds like you had one doozy of a computer virus. I hope you're able to get it all settled. I know spyware really does slow a computer down. My DH has to clean mine up for me sometimes. We don't even have to be surfin much for it to happen. Hope you get all the bad junk off soon so you don't have to worry about the boys being around and seeing anything you don't think is appropriate. Eileen - Cutie Patootie...how is ya? Hey how are you doing with the Water drinking? I was doing pretty good there for a bit but, I slacked off again the last couple of days. Ya think they'll ever come out with an intravenous thing we can just attach ourselves too so we KNOW we made the water count? lol Betty - So sorry you haven't had to opportunity to ride while you had so much company. Have you been able to ride at all this summer? DH went for a really long ride last weekend. There was a special run to Ground Zero in NY. Started in Mass with about 300 bikes and picked up more in CT. There were about 500 riders by the time they got to NY and that was only the Mass bunch. Apparently they were coming from all around. He said it was beautiful and NY blocked all main roads for them and the volunteer FireFighters threw a barbeque for them too. Do you do charity rides when you get a chance to ride? Mary - Glad to see you back and hearing from you. Darcy - I miss ya my friend. Hope you're finding the room for your things while you unpack Sorry if I missed anyone else...I forgot to hit the advanced key and can't read a dang thing back. Hugs to you all...see you in a week.

Are you doing the driving on this trip? Just curious because my doc didn't recommend us driving for at least 2 weeks. I have to say I was pretty sore in one particular spot for at least a month and that spot hurt when I leaned forward to look before turning etc in my car. Otherwise I was ok. I have heard of people flying out of Mexico and back home days after surgery though and also of some driving themselves home over 100 miles. Check around this website it's all over the place. Best bet is to check with your own surgeon to be safe Congrats on your date and good luck! -
DUHHHH just realized the comments were all below mine hahaha. geesh I'm tired lol. Sorry about that i'll get to the personals this weekend before I leave I hopes...HUGS
-
Hello Everyone...hope you're all doing well. Kat - My heart goes out to the boy's family and to you and your hubby. It must of been so hard to have to see You're all in my prayers. Chris and I leave Sunday for our trip. I'm not sure of the flight time...she's suppose to tell me I must of missed something...what's wrong with your mouth? I'll have to go back and peek again. My brain is fried from working on an audit at work and trying to get it all in before I leave. Tis another reason why I haven't been around. Too tired of computers by the time I get home. Oops...I forgot to hit the advanced key and now I'm on the 2nd page it looks like and can't see a dang thing to write back to people. My bad and I'm sorry. Again...brain dead here so I CRS (Can't remember poop) disease has set in. Cindy, Betty, Patty, Eileenie, Mandy, Mary(welcome back!), Chrispy....HOWDY Y'ALL. well...believe it or not I have to VPN into work and try to do more work. grrrrr I really really want this off my plate before I leave! Hugs to you all!

Congrats Marg! Lorna - You are so sweet. Thank you for the encouragement. Are you getting enough Protein? Enough Iron? If you're not it may be why you're tired. Also, if you're not taking in enough calories you not only will be tired but you won't lose weight either because you're body will think it's starving. What did the nutrionist say? Gosh I can't wait for my October appointment. I need fill put back in....I don't want to gain more weight. It's kinda neat that I can go on my vacation next week and not worry about getting stuck but when i get back it's back to the grind and making better food choices for sure! Hope everyone is doing well. -
You're very welcome Terri. The fills can be confusing enough let alone not knowing why kind and how big of a band you have so I'd start there. I for one have had questions regarding my fills until my husband was in the room with me while I got one. He said..you can see how much Fluid is in the syringe but, when the doc pulls it out the saline is still squirting so it's not an exact science. Only YOU can tell if you truly have too much in your band and have to have some removed or need more. Just eat slow, chew well and pay close attention to which foods upset you and which don't. When you're tight, you have the tendancy (meaning us bandsters not necessarily you) to eat softer foods so they go down and stay down with no trouble. The problem is most soft foods are higher in calories. It's not easy my friend.....the band helps but, its a tool only. WE do most of the work Good luck and I'm glad I was able to help a bit. Feel free to ask anything else you'd like. Hugs
