    Not losing!

lachanga...are you actually keeping track of your caloric intake? Reason I'm asking...you may be eating TOO LITTLE. Yeap eating too little will slow down or stop your weightloss because your body will go into starvation mod. If you're barely eating as you're stating and you're working out three times a week that kind of gives a hint that this may be the problem. Track your food intake on Fitday or Sparkpeople or even just on a piece of paper.....My physician had me on about 800-850 calories a day at about the weeks you're at right now....check with your physician or bariatric center and see what your nutritional intake should be for where you are post-surgery now. Then see if you're getting it all in. I think you'll be amazed at what you find if you're really honest with your food journal. Then at least you'll know if it's too little, too much or if it's truly the amount you're suppose to have then you'll have information to bring to your doc for him/her to help you further and break that plateau. I wish you the best!

    I am so COLD!!!

Definately losing layers of fat makes a difference for me anyway. But also when I was on liquids I felt it more. Try keeping track of your food prior to seeing your doc so you know you're giving him an accurate account of what you're taking in daily. If you're not using an online tracker I highly recommend either Fit Day or Spark People sites....they really help keep track of food and have a bunch of great suggests. Good luck and I hope you warm up

Pat I wish my kid did say "yes ma'am" when I tell him to knock it off. I just get "yeap" and he doesn't turn his head unless I yell at him to look at me! Most of the time I just threaten to cut him off from his internet connect which he needs for those games and he cools it down. Sometimes he gives up and just comes out of his room and watches tv with us then he'll apologize for yelling and swearing. "But the game really gets me going ma" hahaha

Ohhh Pat if that was all I heard coming from my son's room that would be ok hahaha. When I heard F*&%ing French Whore that was it for me! I squashed it and told him I'd pull the plug. Apparently this WAR game they play all the teens swear at each other. Well I can take so much figuring it's his private room but, when I can hear it as if he were in front of me through his door I go stompin in. All I get is "yeap" and he doesn't turn around but, he does quiet down lol. He's a great kid..this is his only thing that he does that is aweful. So I'm thankful its the only thing so tolerate it a bit...no drugs, no drinking, no staying out late, soooooo I'm lucky but, I still stay on top of it lol Eileen...I didn't see an expiration date I looked all over...so I only drank a little bit of the drink and dumped the rest. I'm not much of a drinker anyway lol. It doesn't say to refridgerate after opening either like Bailey's does ya know. Weird stuff! hahaha I dumped it out and recycled the bottle anyway to be safe lol Well going to see how "Petey" is doing lol. Figured if the bird turns out to be a girl her name will be "Pretty" so it sounds the same to the bird lol Hugs

Pat.....did your girls feel at home at Hooters? I bet you new boobers are perkier than some of the gals servin  hee hee. Man I can't wait to have my babies fixed......they're ummm big but, so dang LOOOOWWW lol. I think when I'm done losing weight they're gonna touch my belly button. Man what a site that will be  Between those and my chicken flaps UGH. Although..not sure I"d get the chicken flaps fixed...they say that surgery healing is terrible because of where the stitches are. DH is out with the guys from his motorcycle group so it's me, the parakeet, dogs and a teenager yelling obsenities in his room while playing video games. Hmmmm I heard the white russian calling my name...made one...it's not too bad. Does anyone know if Kahlua (spelling?) goes bad? lol Yeap it's been here that long! But seriously does it?

Wow that was a pretty aggressive 2nd fill then huh? I know when I started with the acid reflux I let it go for about 5-6 months and then I was at wits end. I wasn't able to sleep without waking up feeling like I was literally drowning. So much would come up at me. It finally got to the point where just as I was starting to fall asleep and get relaxed..that relaxation allowed the acid to flow so I was always afraid to sleep. Many a night I ended up sleeping in the recliner just so I'd be sitting up and have a fighting chance at sleeping without drowning. That 1/2 unfill did wonders for me brain but, obviously I gained some weight back. I was actually not losing weight being overfilled because I couldn't eat enough so for the past year....I basically stayed the same....no gain no loss. That's good and bad ya know. Anyway....It took getting a fill again...a day later a slight unfill and it was perfect. I could probably use another fill to stop me from eating as much BUT.....I still get an acidy tummy sometimes especially around 4pm so I can't do another fill...I just know my body and know it couldn't handle it soooo I have to fight the hunger. Not always easy! Anyway...it does seem like we're getting a nice interest in the get together. i sure do hope you can make it

ahahaha I love it. Eileen I know where your mind is today...same place as mine hahaha That response was priceless hee hee. What's a french tickler? I've heard of em but, never saw one. I even went to an adult toy party last Saturday and she didn't mention those there lol. I did make a purchase though hee hee Well my friends there has been an addition to my family today  DH bought me a parakeet for Valentine's day. He/She is so cute...blue with blue/green on its chest and a yellow face. We won't know for a while if it's a male or female so geesh what name do I give it? ......Killa', Freckles, Sasquash, Dip Shit (that was bad but funny hee hee), I like Petey but if it's a she then what lol Anywho...it might be Freckles so I'm safe either way  Anyone have any good names? Valentine is cute but, kinda long...cupid...naw thats stupid hahaha

Hello Peeps...been up since 5:15 am and its Saturday! What the heck is wrong with me? DH says all the stress is making me restless...guess so huh? I'm calmer today because I'm not at work but, tense still. Not sure this will go away for a while but, I'm doing ok. Wish I could explain more but, being on the internet I'm better off not. Anywhooooo took a class last night and it runs 2 more Friday nights. It helps build your intuition and helps you hone into it more. It will help with my Reiki work on others. I really do enjoy it  My friend is coming over Sunday to give me a Reiki Treatment and I'll work on her after. It helps alot especially after a stressful week. We also have to plan our next course for our own students who will be taking a Level III course with us in March. We need to get our manuals prepared and class structure planned. Some day goils I'm going to own my own Holistic healing center....I'm going to call it Passing Tranquility or something close to it After the course we're taking now we plan on taking an IET (Intergrated Energy Therapy) Level II course soon too. That work is amazing and helps release lots of emotions, tensions etc to help balance a person physically, mentally and spiritually. Reiki does that as well but, IET uses pressure points much like accupuncture but, no needles you use your finger tips. So relaxing :tt1: I'm hooking up with a woman who sells crystals and stones on Sunday too. I'd love to make holistic jewelry for myself and my friends...much like the jewelry I'm sure you've all heard about with the magnets. Each stone has a different healing quality just like magnets help with arthuritis and to help balance the negative ions in your body. It's pretty cool. Aeromatherapy is another way to help relax too. Just starting to peek into that one hahaha. As you can see...this stuff can keep me pretty busy...I just wish I had more time for it. So what is everyone doing for Valentines? We don't really go out or anything here but, we'll get trinket gifts for each other and cards. I got my son a case to hold his new PSP handheld video game thing instead of candy and I got DH a stainless steel flag pole for his motorcycle and a flag for it. (Must confess I really wanted it too lol) I want to go out today and get something to send to the two soldiers I adopted that are over in Iraq. Dan and Kevin....both have written back to me which was awesome considering I'm sure they have little time. I haven't received a hand written letter in ages but, Dan has sent two so far. Kevin emailed to let us know he received our letter and he'd write again soon. It makes us feel good to know we're helping there day a bit. I'm going to send Dan a care package of candies. He said the guys like to give the candy to the kids in Iraq......many of the people there love our folks being there and really appreciate them. Anyway...I thought I'd give him a hand in making the kids smile a bit :tt2: Hmmm what else is new...not much...just really busy at work, super stressed there but, I know it will pass and settle down. It always does. I'm very thankful to have a peaceful home to come home to...it helps get rid of alot of the day junk. The puppies are doing great but, hey are in desparate need of a bath! hee hee thought I might of lost my post.....got side tracked...ended up helping the Earth by staying green...took a shower with DH to conserve Water. Yeap...thats it see what I'm trying to do to conserve hahaha. Feel nice and refreshed now. But I do have to go put my makeup on....might take a ride to Borders for something different to do. You know before having to start the laundry and other weekend crapola  Betty - Hows the job going down your end of the world? Are you going riding this weekend at all? Looks like we're going to have snow in a few hours here so the motorcycle is staying put. Eileen - Yeap....it's been hard. I'm trying to pump myself back up to start fresh on Monday. I need to drink that blastid water and lay off the snacking and when I do eat, make it Protein rich. Yeap gotta get all that in my head for a good start Monday (again...us dieters always say Monday huh?) I have this bodybugg that really does work ummm if I actually key in my food for the day and if I move my ARS sooooo DH and I have already made a promise to both get moving with our walks on Monday again. I actually bought one of the Biggest Loser workout DVDs to try. I read on the bodybugg thread that it's fun so if there is a chance exercise can become fun I guess I'll try it. Hell I've spent money on tons of "lose weight now" things what's one more hahaha How is the Karate guy? hee hee Kat - You truly are a very upbeat person ya know. You really would be great at Reiki like Pat said. I think you'd get alot out of it if you don't already. Sounds like you already practice it honestly  I hope your DH is feeling good and that things are going well for you. Mandy - Man....that sinus stuff really sounds like it would get on ones nerves. I don't blame you for being frustrated. I do hope they figure out what's causing you this uncomfortableness/pain and get it fixed for ya. So sorry to hear you're still going through that. Now....regarding your not meeting your goal. GIRLFRIEND you look absolutely fantastic! If I didn't know about your band because of this website, I never would of guessed that you were overweight. You really look great and look like you've always been thin. Cut yourself some slack (I'll knock you around like Chrispy does me and I do her when we get down on ourselves lol) because you've come a long way, you're looking great, you have to be feeling weight wise much lighter and healthier and I can bet when you think about it you're moving with more ease and comfort compared to when you started this process. Right! So celebrate your birth woman....You deserve it and I'm sure Abby and DH are especially happy you were born. Remember that! Patty - Sorry to hear you're still having computer issues but, you know what....being off the computer isn't necessarily a bad thing. Means you have more time for YOU. Sounds like working at the gym is a great deal and great for you. Congrats! Have they offered you a discount on the BodyBugg? I'm telling you it's the greatest thing (when you really use it...unlike me right now) because when I used it right I was losing weight and could see the results. Pat - sounds like you're feel much better. YIPPEE and man you're looking awesome you really are! Oops hear the mailman outside and I have to get these letters of to my soldiers. BB later on tonight to finish more personals if I can. Sorry I missed some personals my friends....I love ya though

Happy Birthday Mandy...I have to say.....I wouldn't go back to the 20's for anything. I have to say I truly loved being in my 30's and when the big 40 came I threw myself a party. That's right....invited people, hired a DJ, had it at a hall and all. Told everyone no presents...just come and enjoy family and friends and to this day it was the best dang thing I ever did. I'm really thinking of throwing myself a 50 party  I guess I always looked at our birthdays as just numbers. 29 is a number, so is 30 or 31. You can't change it...worrying about it only ruins your day.....look at what you've accomplished not what you haven't because if you truly want it girl, you can still do it. I too thought I would of graduated with a degree and be farther along but, I don't regret anything. I've learned from it all and I can honestly say I really like myself and think I turned out pretty dang good. I've been through alot in my life and I see so many people dwell on the past but, you know......the past can't be changed. My favorite saying "The past is in the past, you can't change it but, the future is what you want it to be." Stop looking in your review mirror girlfriend and look through your windshield. You've come along way and have so much more beautiful road to travel. Glance through your side windows and enjoy the moment but, always turn back to the windshield and only check the rearview occassionally and watch it fade away Happy Birthday Mandy.....enjoy and remember you've come a long way baby but, theres so much more! Hugs

Nana it certainly seems like you had an aweful lot of a fill in there. How many fills have you had and when was your last one? I only have about 1.40 in mine because I had so much trouble with Acid reflux when I was up to 2.00.

Betty - So sorry to hear about your Uncle....you're in my thoughts and prayers. I do hear ya on the weight thing...I WAS under 200....didn't take much to push me back over. The stress at work is killing me and I seem to have reverted back to my old ways of comfort  Do we ever learn? Hello everyone...can't stay..just too stinking pooped after work and working on a computer all day. Good news is tomorrow is Friday :tt1: My DH and my friend Donna are going to give me a Reiki treatment this weekend THANK GOODNESS because I've been having a tough time working on myself lately. Long story but, it will all work out in the end. It always does :blushing: Chrispy and I are putting together a support group for Lapband folks at my house. I wish you lived around us so we can all meet  Seems like we have a good size group for a first meet anyway. We'll see how that goes...it's going to be on Saturday, Feb 23rd. Hugs to you all!

Hey Deb We'd love to have ya! That would be great to finally meet ya! Michelle is more than welcome too if she can make it. It's going to be a getting to know ya meeting and then we'll decide from there how often to have them  We're hoping to have something at least once a month or once every other month, that would be cool and much easier than getting into Boston for meetings. I just haven't been able to get in there for them  So I hope you can come on down. Hopefully the weather will be on our side. I'll PM my addy to ya

Hey Nana...most of us have been there. Here's a good helpful hint for you...use a bread or dessert plate to set your food up on. It helps limit what you put on there I do that for Thanksgiving and holidays and it really helps even 2 years out

Mandy, Insurance will usually pay for at least the apron removal if you have issues with skin rashes and irritations in the folds. I believe for most insurances there has to be documented occurances of it and then they will at least pay for the removal. People then opt to pay the extra for the TT part. Not sure sure on the breast lift...don't think that would be covered but, I can tell ya the same thing happens with the skin there too so it might be possible. When it comes time for me I'll certainly ask about that lol. Might as well get the whole thing done if I'm going to go under anyway  We'll see though because I'm going to want to wait until I can pay for the TT portion too.

Gooooo PATS hahaha Sorry Eileen....we're from NE so we're NE fans. It's certainly going to be a good game though. I just can't stand all the yelling the guys do...what the heck for? Not like anyone really cares or will it change something but, they yell all the same. I guess I'm just not an excitable person for football games anyway hahaha *wink* I typed a few things but, decided not to post it.....the guys made me upset last night...trying to get over it but, when I type it I get more bothered by it so I'm trying to just let it go. You ever have those days where you're completely thrown off by something? Lets just say...if I could afford it, I'd be paying attention to ME and pamper myself with a nice, relaxing massage. Yeap I need to be practicing my Reiki today....only I can make my day a good one....my day is what I reflect. (Oh yea even the Reiki Master has to practice this stuff and it's not always easy!) Anyway Pat you really do look great. I can't wait to see pictures when you're all healed up. I had heard it takes a few months for the swelling to go completely down in the tummy area. What did your doc tell you? Just curious. Gotta hit the shower.....read a book for an appointment I have tomorrow with a "Life coach". It's a project I'm helping my Reiki Master/Chiropractor (yeap she's both lol) with. She's taught some coaches who now need students/clients to learn with. Yeap I'm a guinea pig but, I'll be learning more on how to help others too in the meantime Also have a little running around to do today too before the game. Have a great day everyone. Love you!

Kimberly....Think about why you chose this surgery in the first place. I can tell you honestly and openly that everyone including myself goes through the doubting stage. The... Why can't I just not eat as much on my own? Why can't I just exercise more? Why do I have to do something do drastic to myself in order to lose? But....if you really think about it...the band is a "tool" you're still going to have to work at it but, not as hard. Your band will help you listen to your body when it says "enough". Its soooo natural that you're doubting the decision you've made. So.....you ask if you should go with gastric bypass. Again...I ask you to THINK about the reasons why you didn't. I can't tell you your reasons for Lapband vs bypass but, I can tell you mine.....Rerouting my organs to purposely malnutrion my body to me was just nuts. In my own opinion for my own life and body...that was just not an option. I wanted to know that if something should not be right I could reverse what I did and you can with the band. Your organs go back to the usual shape, size etc when the band comes out...if it has to that is. I pray mine never does. I can also tell you that I have never EVER regretted getting the band. I'm almost two years out from my surgery. I did have a year of no weightloss but, I also had NO GAIN! To me that was a miracle compared to my past. I was suffering from acid reflux so I needed to have the Fluid taken out of my band to allow that to settle down....I am fine today. More more reflux and I have fluid back in my band. It's more work to get the weight off for me now but, I'm worth the extra effort when I want to give that to myself I'm enjoying life 75-80 pounds lighter.....I don't hurt anymore, I don't need my high blood pressure meds anymore...I can walk flights of stairs and actually breath when I'm done. Oh yesss this was the best decision for me.....but, only you can answer that question for yourself. I'm in Taunton and like Ted said...I'm trying to get a group of us together to possibly start our own support group here locally. If you're interested you are more than welcome

Pat, It's no bother at all I don't mind helping out. What I do is save my pictures onto my computer. Go to the picture I want to use and right click on it.....in the clock there is an option to resize pictures with different size options. I usually choose the "small" click that and it sizes it down saving it with the same file name but (small) added to it. See if that works for you, easy peasy. If it doesn't then after you right click the picture, click "open with..." and at that point I usually pick Microsoft Photo Editor and work from there. There are options on the top of that screen under "Image", then "resize" and at that point you're picking a percentage or inches you want to change it too. Like I said I really don't mind helping out and I'll email em back to you to post if you want I have such a splitting headache right now....don't think I drank enough Water yesterday. Of course it doesn't help I had a major stress day at work, tried to get a project done before closing the books so the client wouldn't get upset and just couldn't complete it. Staff made a HUGE mistake I was trying to fix! So my eyes didn't leave the screen, then got home and DH and DS were playing video games so I was stuck in the computer room again so played card games watched the smaller tv....yea my head has had enough! lol Gotta go take some Tylenol and drink some water..... Hey has anyone noticed you can't get Tylenol Go Tabs anymore Dang I really liked those...the liquid Tylenol does nothing for me  Do they make them in your areas anymore? I'm willing to pay for shipping if they do. They're the only things that work for me.
