Cant eat Jello....Is this normal
SherryW replied to spoodles's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jana when I was banded I couldn't even eat mushies or food food for more than a week. I was told liquids only. I realize Jello may liquify in your mouth but, it might be the issue. It's still more solid than liquid so it may be too much for your newly banded stomach. Stick to liquids for a while then try again. I haven't been able to eat jello since I've been banded. Its just puts way too much air in my stomach and it causes me that golfball feeling in my chest. Definately check with your doc and follow closely the food listings they've given you to follow. Good luck and hope you're healing up well. -
Just a quick question.....I thought my trainer told me it was ok to put the bugg on my left arm as long as the button remained on the upper portion. My right arm does get really irritated after a while. Basically to the point where I want to take the thing off. Has anyone tried it on their left arm?

Gosh dang it how come I don't get updates when someone posts? Hmmm just so odd how it happens. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm busy as all get out at work and the stress level is taking it toll. Fortunately I have asked for the 21-15 off and hopefully I can make it without checking my emails during the week but, I know myself better than that. Always trying to make sure things are ok grrrrrrrrr. One good thing I've done for myself is I've booked a treat for myself tomorrow to have Crystal Resonance Therapy. I thought it would be a nice bday treat for myself  . My hubby gave me some beautiful cards and a Dunkin Donut gift card...LOVE THOSE because I can get my ice coffee on the way to work in the morning and my son's card made me cry  but in a good way. He's grown up so much. He gave me a iTunes gift card so I can put music on my MP3 player......yeap that is if I can figure out how to do that hahaha. My mom took DH & DS and I out for dinner to Celebrate the bdays. Hubbys is on Monday. My step-daughter also called to wish me happy birthday and I thought that was super sweet of her Anyway.....this birthday girl is pooped but, I truly miss you all and wanted to pop in to say hello. Its now 11:05pm and this is the first time I've had that chance. I really wish I was getting the updates but, for some reason it's not happening. Not sure why really...then again do I ever truly understand this technology hahaha Love you folks and wish you all the best. Looks like during my vacation I'm going to attempt the fill routine again. I'm eating way too much and too often.....the scale just isn't moving in the right direction and has a tendancy to move in the direction I'm not liking haha so we have to try again. Hopefully the reflux doesn't get too bad UGH. Anyway...I'm now going cross-eyed with this monitor. I hope to get back in here before May rolls around the corner. HUGSSSSS

Congrats on your approval Kat that's just awesome! I need to lose some more weight because I gotta get rid of this apron...yuck! But, I don't want to do that until I lose at least another 30 pounds or so...that's gonna be a while. I'm just not doing well with my weight right now anyway.

Happy April everyone...just realized why I wasn't getting posts lol. Usually how I discover the new threads. Either I create them or end up discovering them AFTER I realize I haven't gotten an update hahaha. Hope all is going well with you all. 10:21pm so it's time for bed...worked way too late tonight...I'm going too cross-eyed to stay up and chat. Hope to catch up soon! xoxox

Trying to start a new chat for us this month. I'm not liking the SEARCH engine in here right now. It pull me out of LBT? Gotta go all around to find the one for the local threads....found out it looks like you have to be in a specific thread to do a search and you use the threads toolbar search thats in a pull down? Gotta be an easier way. BRB and will post the link to this months chat for us in February's thread. WHEW!

Wowza Kat...what a thing to go through. Glad to hear you're feeling more normal today. I go through spurts.....I don't pb or throwup for a long time then all of a sudden usually just a few days pre-TOM.....I'll get tight and end up throwing up. I swear this thing flip-flops in there sometimes. Yesterday I could barely eat all day...today went to Applebees and practically finished the quasedia (I know I spelled that rong) burger, fries and a freaking apple sangria. OH Lord! I need a fill! Anyway........I'll have to remember that trick if I ever end up with that much mucus. Really nice you had someone to talk to  Love yas

daaaayuuuummmm the time flies. Looks like I'm a hit and run kinda posting gal. Geesh they make me a moderator and I haven't been able to do much at all since. I know things will slow down but, it's going to take a while that's for sure. I need to do some catchin up on reading too. Although...look at our busy girls...we have barely any posts for March and we're almost in April. Can you imagine that! Seems everyone is so busy or we're all just too dang tired to post after a long day hmmm? Always know that I'm thinking of ya though, I really am and when I say my thankfuls everyday I'm thankful for this group as well :cheers2: Gotta get my ars in the shower....need to do some holiday shopping for Easter lunch. Nothing special really...going for a quiet weekend  I need it for sure! and of course the usual chores need to be done. I think the dust bunnies are multiplying and you know what....they can! I'm too pooped to chase them around so go ahead.....draw in them hahaha. DH seems to like to do that which of course forces me to dust...shhh don't remind him to do that lol

i can't even believe I've been gone this long geesh! I'm that busy at work. They let my boss go this past Tuesday so I've been busy covering for the account manager that quit about 3 weeks ago and now my boss as well as my usual job. You can only imagine how pooped I am from the stress One good thing was I taught a Reiki class yesterday so that rejuvinated me for a bit. Now just getting ready for work again UGH. SEems the weekends fly by...doing laundry, grocery shopping, putting it away, cleaning, cooking......yeap gotta go attend to the laundry now actually. I miss you folks...and hope you're all doing well. Eileen - so sorry to hear your sick. That has been going around here like crazy..people get the flu...then a week later the intestinal thing..yeap squirts. DH had it but, thankfully it didn't hit me. I hope you feel better soon. kat - I hope you're mouth is doing better and not so sore. Howdy everyone else...gotta go fold clothes ...can I tell ya how much I just hate that chore? It's up there with cleaning bathrooms. If I could get a maid for just those two things I'd be in heaven!

Welcome Suehobart...you've got friends here. I wish you luck on your Banding journey! I don't know which area in Mass your from but, we actually held a small support group meeting at my home in Taunton. We'll be having another one soon. We just need to plan a date  You're more than welcome to come too if you'd like. We started it because getting into Boston isn't easy for everyone especially during the week. So we tried a Saturday afternoon and it seemed to work for everyone. Speaking of...is anyone game again for this month? Say the 22nd or so? -
Eileen - So sorry your day was off yesterday. Been there myself before and I know what you mean...the change is tough especially when it takes so dang long to happen lol. I keep thinking ALRIGHT already, I'm not going to have anymore kids, I don't need this to take it away lol. Hope you have a better day today. How was DD's party? Hairy cupcakes? Do tell Betty - I hope you're feeling better today  I'm pooped this changing the clocks things is silly. Why not just keep it where it's suppose to be?
-
hairy bakery hahahaha...too cute. I bet they do the girls nails...and then decorate cupcakes or cookies....I would hope they'd do that at the bakery but, who knows...hopefully if it's in the same shop they keep the stuff really separated lol

1 week post op and still have weird side pain
SherryW replied to iamlisad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Lisa, I cant say i had that feeling in the middle of my tummy below the belly button but, I did have what sounds like similar discomfort and pain just to the left of my belly button...my left side. It almost felt like a string was tied to my skin and a little man was in there pulling on it. It was quite sharp sometimes and I walked around with my hand on that area pushing against my stomach because it helped me feel better while walking. Same thing for me...no bruise in that area or incision but, it was there. All part of the gas they had to put in your abdomen plus all the moving around they do in there to get the band around your stomach. Anyway...it did go away after about 3 weeks for me. It did take time but, it got less and less uncomfortable as the time went by. Good luck and if it's still bothering you alot no harm in calling your doc to make sure everything is ok. That's what they are there for! -
How honest are you with your surgeon?
SherryW replied to Shinyhappymommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
shiny...have you seen a nutrionist as part of your lapband journey? My surgeon has us see one each visit to him. I think it's a great idea and they know so much more as far as what we need to eat and keep things balanced and she offers suggestions to help me along the way as far as substitutes etc. Maybe you can suggest to him you'd like to see one. Maybe your regular PCP can recommend one for you and then you can tell your surgeon that you're seeing a nutrionist and that they say you're eating balanced. maybe then he'll drop the food talk? Good luck! -

Sounds like the unfill was needed. I've got some weird things going on with my band right now...I think it's from the stress at work. Feels like everything I eat just sits in my stomach. The air from the lower part can't get out......weird and hard to explain. I'm hungry yet afraid to eat with this too. I think it's mostly being caused from stress though...hopefully this weekend, not working will help. I'm hopeful :tt2: Mel I hope you're feeling better. You may of gained a pound initially but, I can bet it's water..it will go away. Definately keep track of your intake so you can bring it with you on your next visit to your doc/nutrionist. Good luck with your unfill. I ate too late the other night myself and ended up with reflux too YUCK. Tums wouldn't do it. -
Hey everyone TGIF...thannnnnnnnnnnnk the Lord and plant a tree for Israel! I'MMMMM SOOOO TIRRRRRRRRRRED. Just wanted to pop in to say hello, yes I'm alive and hope to be able to stop by to catch up with everyone. Kat I do hope you're having less pain soon. OUCHY. I have to have a gum graph done on my lower left side. They freaking take gum from the roof of your mouth and sew it to the gum in front of the tooth that needs it. ewwwwwww I don't wanna do it. I've put it off for 2-3 years now but, the dentist gave me heck last week ...says I'll lose the tooth if I don't. Lets just say losing it might be worth it grrrrrrrr Anyway...just got home after putting in over 115 hours of work the past two weeks. Just crazy...I'm pooped and going to have dinner with DH and DS. Ended up ordering pizza...don't know if my band will let me. It's been awefully finicky lately from all the stress I'm supposin. EH....love you folks!

I think I'm the first one here girls.

Geesh Where the hell have I been? Busy busy as usual. Pat you crack me up with your coochie story hee hee I've never had that done....doesn't it hurt? And youre afraid of needles? Geesh I think I would rather have a tattoo than someone ripping the hair by it's roots from me...zoiks. Kat so sorry you're hurtin...hope your pain meds kicked in. Sorry I have to run...still working right now but, wanted to peek in for a bit. I'm working on my first Reiki client tonight....hope I can bring some comfort to them. He has brain cancer  but, hopefully my friend and I can balance things spiritually for him. We're going to try Hugs

Actitrainer or BodyBugg???
SherryW replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The bodybugg was on sale yesterday at 24hourfitness for $199 but, it was supposedly a leap-year special. you might want to check it out, quite often the sale price shows up in the shopping cart after you checked it.
