Fill on the 3rd...all of a sudden tighter
dsandgnat replied to LoisinStA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had mine filled on June 4th. Three days later, I couldn't eat or drink anything without having pain. I thought at first it was me getting use to the band, but by the following Monday, I was still in pain if I ate or drank anything. I went to my doctor on June 11th to have some removed (1cc), and it really helped. I would say if you are still experiencing pain by late Tuesday night to have your doc remove 1cc and see if it helps. By the way, during the week of readjustment (June 4-11), I lost 13 lbs. Some say that may be good, but I was not getting any nutrients from food and I was getting extremely dehydrated. Plus, when I went on June 11, my blood pressure was up due to the pain I was experiencing. -
Hello from Southeast Georgia

I had my band put in by Dr. Henderson on August 27, 2007. Since then, I have lost 84 lbs. I just recently had him fill my band, but he overfilled it. I could not eat or drink anything because it would feel like it was hanging in my esphogus. I went back just a couple of days ago and he removed 1cc of fluid and it helped tremendously. -
I am 41 years old, and have had my lapband since August 27th, 2007. Since that time, I have lost 78 lbs. Before my surgery, I topped out at 531 lbs. I joined WeightWatchers about a year before my surgery, and I managed to keep off 30 lbs. So, in essence, I have lost a total of 108 lbs., and I want to lose more. I am a student, pursuing my master's degree in teaching mathematics. I have taught a year of high school mathematics, but when my contract wasn't renewed, I made the decision to both lose weight and get my master's degree. When I am not substituting or studying, I am an on-air radio personality. I help in broadcasting/producing the local high school football and baseball games. I also host a live, local call-in sports talk show and a live call-in football scoreboard show. I have been doing this for 10 years, and I thoroughly enjoy it. My main goal in weight loss is to lose more than half my weight so I will be able to do the play-by-play of the local high school games. It is hard for me to do the baseball games because the broadcast booth is on top of the concession stand, and the ladder is only 3 feet wide and goes up at a 50 degree angle. A friend of mine wanted my goal to be for me to lose enough weight so he and I can go the Playboy mansion.

I have not had a soda since three weeks before my surgery, which was August 27, 2007. I have not craved any sodas since, but I have had a craving for a root beer float and I then think I got my lapband for a reason--to lose the weight. I have never had a taste for coffee or tea. Tea, to me, tastes like they drug a bunch of old brown, post-raked leaves through Water. (Of course, I hate skim milk--all skim milk tastes like to me like they drug a cow through water.) Since I have stopped drinking sodas, I have not had many headaches. I still get them because I have a blind eye, and my good eye tries to compensate. Also, I have heard drinking sodas might cause the pouch to expand, and I didn't pay all that money for surgery to screw things up like that.

I have been looking for recipes since I had my band put in on August 27th, 2007. I have lost 78 lbs. since, but I am getting bored of the things I eat and would like something new in my diet. I would, if you can, like to get a copy of the cookbook when you get finished. I will even try to send some recipes that I have to you to add to the collection. Thanks.
