Help I went in for my initial consultation and wanted the Gastric Sleeve the doctor suggested the Duodenal switch surgery. I'm 6ft2 450lbs and it took me a lot to take this first step and I was confused and disappointed. My bmi was like 60 and I was wondering what your thoughts are. I read the pros and cons and I know the DS has more risk but he seemed to push it. I have mild diabetes and sleep apnea and major knee problems and blood pressure otherwise healthy. Age is 58. The Psychologist made me leave her office without a straight jacket so I think I passed that one lolI hope and pray things go as planned for you. I dread surgery I never was even in a hospital.. I just saw 2 episodes of the tv show 600lb life I never seen it before. Have you seen the show?? I been so pumped starting my weight loss journey last week and finding this forum. I have to be honest watching that show got me depressed and I'm not the type of person that gets depressed. I'm doing something now before it gets worse. I love to hear about the success stories. What a story thanks for sharing yes I'm going full steam ahead for the Gastric Sleeve and I'm confident I'm going to make the Sleeve work. I meant I had a back up plan to do the second half of the surgery if worse came to worse. After reading the great success stories with the Gastric Sleeve I'm going to do it.
