Help! Gastric sleeve & EOE
mamalisa268 replied to HiImNikki's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not many people know what EoE is. My son has it and he is 15 and I had the gastro sleeve surgery this past November. If you want to message me, tell me your food restrictions. I do think you can meet your weight goal. But I may not know exactly what you are going through. But I do have plenty of knowledge of EoE and having the surgery. I hope you message me. Good luck. -
I took 2 weeks off but that 3rd week at work was hard. Everyone is different and also depends on what you do. I sit behind a desk. But if you work in a job that requires hard labor or lifting heavy things, you are going to need a much longer healing time. Good Luck... ???? hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 341

Hello Pal Fam - i am excited on this Monday morning. Even though my children don't want to get out of bed for school, I didn't either it is a whopping -6° degrees out here in Chicago with who knows what the wind chill is. But I hit a milestone and I want to shout it out but nobody would understand but here. I lost 100lbs, starting in April at 444lbs scared the crap out of me and didn't think I could ever get away from 400lbs. Most I ever lost in my life was 9.6lbs and that is cuz what my son weighed when he was born. I have so much more to do but that person I dream about in my sleep (me being thin) doesn't seem that far of a fetch anymore. Happy Monday all, hoping you are in a warmer place than me. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 351

Hello from Chicago, 38 year old mother of 3. I feel like I am the biggest person after reading all the post, which they are very helpful and now I don't feel like I am alone. I started this journey in April, but through my insurance United Healthcare. I have to be on a 6 month weight loss program. I started at 444lbs (prob the only place I will be totally honest on that) since then I am currently 379lbs as of this morning. I have done really well on my own. I haven't told people other then my husband and sister, I don't want people's opinions either way. I picked November 23rd cuz I am not a fan of thanksgiving and I don't have to go my mother n laws house this year, woohoo on that. But I truly am concerned of the preop prep, the liquid diet wondering if I actually can do that. I am not worried about the surgery, I have had 4 c-sections. Looking for maybe a buddy, friend who is getting ready too for the pre-op liquid diet. Any advice. Any before and after pics. Thx for reading all this. Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App

Venting to all that would understand me, I want to indulge in food (something good, not puree potatoes) and I can't. I had to put my first dog/down first pet ever down today, I loved him more days than I was mad at him. My bacon buddy, always gave him half a piece of what I was eating so I wouldn't eat the whole thing. Lightning is his name, 9 year old deaf great Dane. Putting him down was hard, never did that before. It was peaceful but tonight the house seems different. So many emotions and all I want to do is eat to comfort me. I know I can't. But to all that may understand what i am feeling and to all who read this to hear me vent. Thank u. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 351

Well, if it's not normal then I'm crazy as a loon because every dog I've lost has left a hole in my heart and hurt like I lost my best friend. Bernie, Samson, Luke, and Mesa....my fur babies I've lost, ever loyal in my best and worst times. I am so sorry for your loss, but also so glad for you that you took a painful thing, recognized it for what it was and haven't just headed straight for food. As surely so many on this forum do, I totally understand your desire to turn to something to eat for comfort. Hang in there, cry it out if you need to, exercise it out, do something kind for yourself, or ask someone else to do something kind for you. Just remember to keep food in the category where it belongs, just fuel for the body, and work through what you're feeling in a healthier way. Like the saying goes, that which doesn't kill us, can only make us stronger. Sent from my SM-G928V using the BariatricPal App They are our fur babies, so yes Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app COOCENT_PICTURE_20161210_064812.pngMy yorkie I lost , my truck, and my new furbaby. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App My gosh, I am sorry. Are you talking about the semi? Cuz i work with D.O.T, plating, safety and it is so expensive. Not sure how anyone these days xmcan own their own rigs and make it. Government makes it so hard with all the rules and regulations they put out there. But I am sorry. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 351

Hi all, I am 16 days post-op. Doing okay, struggling with liquids and the mushy food, I am only going potty 1 or 2 times a day. And this bubble in my throat, any ideas to help that. I think that is my only complaint, I guess that isn't that bad at this point. But what mushy foods are you all eating that is good? But I am 6lbs from losing 100lbs, and that was mostly pre-op weight lose. Till more to go, glad to see all the pics everyone post. Really gives me some faith that I made the right decision. I am looking better. Wish all well wishes. But any help with that bubble in the throat would be greatful and mushy foods that are good. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 ~ cw 351

I am 11 days post op, getting ready to go back to work. I have searched online and found meal planners, but wanting to honestly see people post op who have just started puree foods, what or how they eat all day. I would greatly appreciate it. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363

Tomorrow Surgery Day, so many emotions

Hello all... Tomorrow morning I will be having my sleeve done. There are so many crazy emotions, happy and sad. Like I am pregnant all over again. I am nervous but honestly what did you all feel that first day. I am not worried about surgery, worried about the after. I have had 4 c-sections and a stomach infection after the last one baby. I remembered how they all felt. Just curious what should I expect tomorrow?? And btw accepting all prayers. hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378 -
I need accountability buddy.
mamalisa268 replied to ladyslim2015's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Plz don't think I am judging cuz I am not by any means. How far out from surgery are you guys? I just had the gastro sleeve last Wednesday. So I am curious as to how far out you all are and what happens, the full feeling just stops? I am sorry you r struggling, hell if I wasn't afraid to eat something now I think I would. Feel like i am starving and I hate all around me that eat. My husband last night, he works part time at Dominos pizza just for xtra cash and he brings home a pizza and one of their brownie pies. I wanted to shank him, but then I have to come back down and realize I did this for me and he didn't. But hearing you all stories wondering what in 1 year or 2 I am going to be jamming my mouth with that pizza he brought home. I sure hope not. This addiction to good is something. My only advice is look at pics of yourself before you did the surgery and maybe that will remind you why you did this and why you feel so good now compared to then. Good luck, and don't beat yourself up for it. You r only human. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363 -
I had my surgery the 23rd, one as told my BMI was high and I needed the shots at home. So prob based on your weight but I am glad you posted that so I remember to give myself the shot. How do u feel though? I can't shake the vomiting feeling. hw - 444 ~ surgery date 11/23 ~ sw - 363

Tomorrow Surgery Day, so many emotions
mamalisa268 replied to mamalisa268's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had surgery yesterday, went well. The pain i really wasn't prepared for, that pressure but after awhile it did go away and this morning well 3 in the morning,i can't sleep and have no pain. They don't give you narcotics here they feel that slows down healing. So I have been getting just Tylenol. Today should be swallow check and then go home. Thank u for the prayers and kind words to help me out. How did u all feel in the days after, like day 3, 4, 5?? Curious and planning my week, I have to come for follow up next Thursday wondering if i be able to drive myself or find someone to drive me. hw - 444 ~ surgery date - 11/23 ~ cw - 378
