Thank you, thank you, thank you! I did forget a lot of these little things, like the 30, 30, 30 rule and how much protein to eat first. It's amazing how quickly you forget and slip back into all the bad habits.

Hi, I was banded in December of 2005. Since then I've had 2 babies. My first pg after the band I didn't unfill, but wasn't quite at my sweet spot (or green spot I think they call it now). With my second pg after banding I had some taken out, but honestly I don't remember what I had them keep in. My last pg was 3 years ago. My baby is almost 3 and I've yet to refill any of my band. It's partially because our insurance doesn't cover much and it's expensive for a fill, but also, I've gotten lazy and fallen back into being able to eat "almost" anything. I do still have some restriction, but not a lot. I'm also almost back at my pre band weight. (within 10 lbs) It absolutely sickens me and I want to start getting my band filled again and get back on that horse, regardless of how long it takes me to pay for it. I need help though. I don't even remember what to do. I don't remember how to eat, or anything. I will ask for some information from the surgeons staff when I'm there for a fill, but I know they are going to suggest I see the nutritionist, but I really can't afford that on top of getting the fills etc. Plus I'm sure I can find the info online too. So what are the main "rules"? I don't think I will have to go all out liquids because I'm sure they'll fill me up slowly and it won't be like right after surgery, but I do want to start Protein shakes. What are the good brands these days? What types of high protein foods are your favorites etc. Any help you can give me right now would be awesome! Thanks!

I think so. I know sometimes if I don't chew enough it kind of hurts so I think it's going through from the pouch to the stomach. It's the same place that hurts when I get stuck. I just worry I don't have enough of a fill if I can feel the food going through.

I have 3.6cc in a 4cc band. I do have some restriction because if I don't chew well enough I do get stuck. BUT, when I'm eating and do chew slowly I can feel it going through within a few minutes. So is that how the band is supposed to work? I thought it was supposed to sit in the pouch for awhile so I'd feel fuller longer? At this rate I'm still eating almost as much as before. Do I need more of a fill? I'm a little afraid to get more of a fill and then not be able to get anything through. My last fill I went from 3cc to 3.6cc. I do notice a little difference but my Dr seemed to think it would almost be too aggressive of a fill. Oh.. and that was 2 weeks ago. HELP!

Finally Pregnant and need advice!
Nette replied to bushbaby's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm also pregnant after the band. I was banded on 12/20/05 and became pregnant in Oct of this year. I was not to restriction yet and actually stopped getting fills in about June because I knew I was trying to get pg. I have not had an unfill and was a little tight in the first trimester. I was also nauseous 24/7 for the first 13 weeks though (nothing to do with the band) so I wasn't eating much anyway. I'm 19 weeks pg now and have not gained anything yet. I'm not trying to lose, I just eat better now and the baby is taking the nutrients she needs. Congratulations!!! -
I haven't posted here in a long long time, but I came on just to see if there was any support here when pregnant. I'm 19 weeks pg right now, and was banded on 12/20/05... so just over a year. I lost 47lbs before getting pg and since getting pg I'm still at the same weight. I'm NOT trying to diet or anything I just had 24/7 nausea the first 13 weeks and really couldn't eat much (it didn't have anything to do with the band). I did notice I was tighter through the first trimester but that didn't bother me at all because I wasn't even to restriction yet and needed at least another fill if I hadn't become pg. I have not had an unfill at all. Honestly, I haven't even talked to my surgeon about it. I don't want to unfill because I've been just fine. My OB is aware of my band and she told me that if nutrition became a problem she would tell me to get the unfill, but so far no problems at all. The baby is getting all the nutrients she needs and I'm not gaining a ton of weight. I know I will eventually start gaining, but I'm hoping it won't be much.

Hi.. both my DH and I are being banded on Tuesday 12/20. We have not had to be on any type of a pre op diet. One question I forgot to ask was what we should eat the day before. I can always call on Monday morning but thought I might ask here and see what suggestions I get here too. Do we stick to easily digestible foods? Does it matter? Help!
