The nervousness is normal. I was where you are now. The only thing you can do is gut it out. You can do this!

Loose Skin Suggestions
clevergirl replied to pixystix0116's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glycolic acid peels for your neck. Any product that has glycolic and salycilic acid in it will help rejuvenate new skin. RetinA could also help. I'm dry brushing now in the hopes that the daily exfoliation will help along the way. It feels amazing and my skin is so soft. -

Calories at 1-2 weeks post-op
clevergirl replied to Lizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was 4/17. My dietitian urged me to make my goal 1000 calories daily with 60-80 grams protein. I mostly hit 800 calories with consistency. My FAVORITE thing is a cup of 2% organic milk, a scoop of unflavored Unjury protein and a tablespoon of sugar free pudding mix (my faves are banana, cheesecake, and chocolate) and mixing it well in my bullet. Refrigerate at least two hours and it's the consistency of melted ice cream. Sooooo yummy. That treat is around 250 calories. -

I will be moving to purees next week and my surgeons office has recommended baby food meats. Anyone have any favorites? Recommendations?

Surgery "Cover Story" for friends, coworkers, etc
clevergirl replied to HealthyPursuit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My colleagues think I had a paraesophogeal hiatal hernia repair. I wanted an excuse for the limited diet as well. -

Thoughts on Abdominal binder after surgery
clevergirl replied to BrodieGL25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought one for myself and found it indispensable the first several days after surgery. -

Bending over Post-op
clevergirl replied to Heres2SecondChances's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was bending over just fine 2 days after surgery. -
I'm using PatchMD for everything. B12, multi, iron, calcium, and biotin. I work at a pharmacy and have been talking with the owner about starting a patch vitamin subscription service!
-
Sounds like you need to up your calories.

I'm really digging the patch vitamins. I don't know why it's easier for me to remember to apply them than it is to take pills, but it is. Where are you wearing yours? Do you rotate? Some places seem more comfortable and less noticeable than others. Pro tip: don't wear them on the inside of your upper arm. OUCH!!

Popular day. It was mine too. I was released Tuesday afternoon. Was very weepy yesterday until I filled my pain meds (my pharmacy closed before I was discharged) but after, I was fine. Walked a bit today and my heating pad has been my favorite thing. I'm sipping on something constantly and had tomato soup for lunch. So delicious! I had purchased all these beautiful organic broths and when I tried them they tasted like cardboard soaked in water. So Campbell's soup for me!

I have just completed the first week of my 2-week pre-op diet. The first and second day were hard. Then it got easy...... Protein shake for breakfast. Egg beaters and fat free cottage cheese omelet with grape tomatoes for lunch. Cup of fat free Greek yogurt and cup of fruit for snack. 3 ounces of tuna and 3 ounces of chicken with a can of green beans for dinner. Protein shake for after dinner snack. I'm full. I'm physically satisfied. I'm not physically hungry. I'm hovering around 1000 calories a day. So why can't I eat like this all the time, every day and "do it myself?" Why is it in the face of surgery that I'm so disciplined and careful and attentive? Could I just cancel surgery and hope that I could continue being this disciplined?
-
How would you describe your "cheating"? I'm on my pre-op diet (surgery is 4/17) and I've not had trouble....yet. Then again, my surgeon has us eating real food (not my favorites) but not just liquid.

My surgery is April 17. I am having trouble concentrating on things that I need to do (particularly at work) to prepare for a two week absence. I start one thing and then move to the next before the first is complete and then am paralyzed by what all needs to be done so I end up doing nothing. Same at home. I just want to come home and go to sleep. Anyone else feeling these types of "paralysis"?
