I Miss Being 'Normal'...Am I alone in this?
WendyLap replied to leahbNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think for me that would have me so discouraged. I want to be able to eat most things but just in smaller portions. There is a thing of quality of life, and you are far too young to have to do this for the rest of you life. I am not banded so cant speak from experience, but hopefully you can do something eg unfill and have a better quality of life good luck with it -
Jaime I agree with you, that is why I am hoping the tool of the lapband works for me. I eat large portions, dont tend to graze too much. Where I see thees. lapbanding helping is either I vomit, which I totally detest, the food or I eat smaller amount. The excerise isnt an issue either for me. ust keeping the weight off is.

Does your DH or SO know how much you weigh?
WendyLap replied to cQQlgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
DH knows to the kilo. He has known all the ups and downs since being together. I have fluctated 30kilos up and down since being married, he even took the before photos for me yesterday. He is very supportive -
I have had the coffee shake, better than I expected. Going to have it as an 'iced' coffee next eg fluffy and over ice. I have also the puddings and the chicken soup. I will wait and see how they go.

I am staying on plan today because I need to be used to no pepsi max and not drinking with meals when I am finally banded -
What made you choose the band over any other type of surgery?
WendyLap replied to Lyn2481's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The surgery on the gastric bypass worried me, it was permanent. The lapband can be reversible. I know stacks of people have said the same thing but it is also my thoughts as well. I am also someone who tends to eat big in one go and not tend to graze as much so lapband does appear to be the better option for me Wendy -
Chickie I have to say when I found your photos on here it was incredible, you were 'real' and still did the weight loss. Definitely inspirational. I am sorry to hear you dont post any more photos

LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions
WendyLap replied to dylansmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
great list dylans mom. Thanks will be taking it on tuesday night to see if that suits here as well or whether they have their own list. At least this has given me an idea of what is expected. -
It is funny how doctors react. I went to mine yesterday to get the referral (I have kinda done the cart before the horse thing) she asked how much do you weigh I told her.. she took my waist measurement (€really wish she hadnt told me) and with this incredulous tone in her voice told ' oh you really are morbidly obese'... ok...... duhhh. Anyway fortunately she is pro lap band and is happy to any recommendations. Really had to wonder at my weight and size she had to query it?

I was reading this thread as very different system to what we have in Australia. I must admit I have been checking for the few days after reading this thread hoping you would be approved Lone star. Congratulations I wish you all the best for the surgery and hopefully that wont be too far away

Finally I have a reason to use my son's wii. Even know when I can do it, the couple of hours between me getting home from work and when DH and DS get home. Great idea thanks

DH is aware, not sure what I shall do about work as I will require time off. Funnily enough I was going through photos on the site and recognised an acquaintance, I emailed her asking about her situation and she mentioned 2 others I know who have had , one lap and one gastric bypass, surgeries. I was really surprised, I think it really is no one's business but mine. I also work in an enviroment where I would be most uncomfortable about people knowing about my surgery
