You could have developed an allergy. I developed an allergy to medical adhesive during this surgery and broke out in hives around all of my incisions. Try taking oral Benadryl and see if that provides any relief. Also be careful not to put any band aids on because if it is a new allergy, the adhesive on the band aid could be triggering the breakout. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op - severe heartburn
spiralfirefly replied to Catie Butler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had pretty bad heart burn. My doctor had me start taking Prilosec for the time being, which helped a ton. He said that my body was still making the same amount of acid as it did before I was sleeved and that it would take some time for my body to adjust to the new smaller stomach. I have also completely failed at the no drinking while eating rule and I don't know how much that plays a role. I'm pretty good about holding off on drinking while eating and afterwards it's the 30 min before I eat part that's impossible. I have very varied mealtimes, nothing even resembling a schedule so most of the time I don't know I'm going to be eating in 30 min to stop drinking. I'm also thirst most of the time so the idea of having to not drink for the time before during and after each meal only caused me to skip the meals instead of give up the drink. I will also be the first to say that my erratic schedule and lack of scheduled meal times has been the biggest obstacle facing me and was probably one of the main contributors to my gain in the first place. Unfortunately, awareness has not translated into the actions needed to correct this problem and frankly I'm clueless on how to go about changing that. I have no regular schedule and other that naming the first meal I eat upon waking Breakfast, this meal is often the 1 others are calling dinner. How long are you supposed to go between meals? If you are awake for longer then the average 16 hours per 24 hour period, should another meal be added in? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Looking for August sleevers

Thank you for the encouragement. Do you get a full feeling? I find that to be one of the really frustrating things is never feeling full, just going from hungry to pain. Also, the amount I can eat varies a great deal day to day so it doesn't give me any hints when it's about to happen. Just bang, can't even swallow the mouthful I'm chewing. It could be acid. Acid feels like hunger. Are you on any sort of acid reducer like Prilosec? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Looking for August sleevers

I had my surgery August 8, and I'm 51 lbs down as on today. Problem is I've been at this weight for 2 weeks now and have actually gone up a lb. I feel like there's no longer any restriction on my eating and am worried that this is the best I'm getting out of it. I'm hungry most of the time and other then a pain in my chest when I'm full I have no other full feeling or even warning that I'm about to be full. I'm feeling very discouraged at this point. Worst part is that no one has even noticed I lost any weight unless I straight up tell them. Feeling like I did all this for nothing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
