    Newbie. Approved for sleeve

@@amandask Hope all went well with the pre op. I got sleeved in October and i'll be honest, the first few weeks were challenging but now I'm on normal food life is easier. Still learning how little I need to eat and body still changing but its getting simpler every day.

    Pickles and olives

Almost 2 months post op. Am eating what I like and I really like pickles and olives. All in extreme moderation though
  4. Relationships will change. What quite often happens is that the person losing weight will often become more self confident and unless you are in a very stable, loving relationship things can be difficult On one of my pre op yo-yo diets I lost a lot of weight and my wife accused me of sleeping around. None of it was true but she became very insecure and after 30 years of being together I walked out. That was a few years ago and I have since met someone who has supported me every step of the way. She is happy for me even though she didn't fully agree with the surgery. We are very strong together and it's magic. Just be aware that things will change. Hopefully for the better. If not then maybe its time to move on
  5. Been in and out of hospital for so many operations over the last 28 years that another visit wasn't even commented on. They didn't ask and I didn't tell. Only one person knew why I went in and that was the person closest to me. My body, my health, my business.... Not being nasty to anyone but it was need to know and they didn't

    Stall?

Hiya I had my sleeve on Oct 14th and the weight just fell off until 23 Nov and it's not moved since.... The intellectual mind says "it's a stall, no problem" but the impatient mind keeps asking "what the hell is going on??" Learning to listen to the first one is difficult
  7. Hi all I was sleeved on 14th October and things have been mostly ok.......... however Over the last week i have started to develop some very dizzy spells whenever i stand up. Also after walking about 30 paces i find my shoulders an neck become very sore for some reason. I am a little short on my fluids each day but not hugely so I am type 2 diabetic I am currently on soft food only A things considered a little dizziness is expected due to the lower amount of calories/sugars being consumed but it's worsened over the last few days. Anyone else experienced these symptoms and if so what did you do about it? All ideas/advice greatly received Many thanks
  8. Sounds very familiar. I need to get a BP monitor next. Thanks for the post LittleBill Sent from my E2303 using the BariatricPal App
  9. Hi everyone. One of the worst things I can think of is having to eat a cold dinner, whatever size it is! We all learn that small portions and chew well are watchwords and I don't have a problem with this...... My problem is eating a cold dinner! How have you dealt with this minor problem in your life? I've tried heating the plate in the oven and other things but none have been long lasting like my current meal times I bought a teapot warmer with a tealight underneath. Feels a bit odd to eat this way but it does keep my meals hot You could put the plate on it between mouthfuls as we all take time to chew these days or you could be like me and just search until you find one that's sturdy enough to hold the plate whilst you eat. If you try it you need to be eating at a table and the holder needs to be of a solid design. Would hate to think of the amount burning houses there would be if you tried this on a tray on your lap.................. Just remember that the manufacturers would have a fit if they knew how it was being used Anyone else have any ideas? Martin

I hate that I had this surgery

Hey there lady Firstly, I don't think I can add much to the People who have posted before me. There's loads of good supporting advice. Sadly this does not seem to be mirrored by your family. This constant sickness is worrying. After your two day admittance to hospital did you feel better than when you went in? If you did then that is part of the answer. I feel you are fighting this on so many fronts that knowing which way to go is a very difficult choice Please keep us updated. We all want you to do well Positive vibes from Kent. UK
  11. Much better thank you. And the weight ismocing again as well :-) Sent from my E2303 using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hi. Sorry for the late reply. It was all linked to blood sugar problems. I have type 2 diabetes. A slight increase in meds has solved the problem. Thank you for your concern Martin Sent from my E2303 using the BariatricPal App

NSV's that no one talks about?

So many things I, and others, can relate to. The thing is they all matter.

    belching

I was in critical care and got told to stay in bed for the first 24 hours due to breathing problems but after that I was up and doing laps of the ward and walking all over the place with my morphine and fluid drips in tow. I was told exercise was the best way to shift the gas Within 3 days it was clear and I was sent home......... Sadly without the morphine
  19. It took 4 weeks and 50lb before a friend of mine said "hell, you've got cheek bones "
  20. I was very worried about doing the right thing for me when I went in and I spent the first week in awful depression over what I had done. Lets face it, like many, I had a perfectly usable part of me removed. Now just over 4 weeks later I'm so glad Iv'e had it done and the doubt has gone. This is a huge life changing operation that will not suit everybody. Sadly some will only find out after the event. It's one of those things you can prepare for until you're as knowledgeable as almost any surgeon but until you have it done you just don't know. I'm now more than happy with having it done despite a few ups and downs with my body. Anyone who goes in to this expecting absolutely no problems afterwards needs to re assess how they think. It's not all plain sailing.

    Sleeved in November

Hi all Well I finally found a Protein shake I can stomach....... If you know what I mean lol The journey continues to be one of discovery...... Mainly discovering that my eyes truly ARE bigger than my belly lol @@tapgirl The soft food is a nice change and I have just over a week to go before I can go onto "normal" food and I must say I'm feeling apprehensive about it for some reason. Will be guided by my body

    Hi

Hi Super busy RosieCheeks :-) Thanks for the welcome
  23. Thank you. 42lb since Oct 14th. I seem to have reached a plateau at the moment as its not moved for a few days but it's not unexpected. It'll start again when its ready. I've found eggs to be tricky. Will give it another week before I try them again. Had baked Beans for the first time today. About 5 teaspoons for lunch
