I have always heard that complex carbs like the ones found in fruits and veggies are the best carbs to incorporate into your diet. The surgery carbs and bread carbs are the ones you want to stay away from. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No need to stress about the psych eval. The doctor I saw started out by just talking to me and asking general questions about my health and weight in the past, why I was considering surgery now, and other questions to see if I understood the process and was knowledgeable about the surgery. Then I had to do 3 questionnaires. They were just to make sure that there are no underlying psych issues that were causing me to be overweight such as food dependency and other issues like alcoholism that may become worse after surgery. I was told that it wouldn't keep me from having surgery but would let them know if I needed his assistance after surgery to work through issues that could potentially be problems. Congrats! My surgery is scheduled for November 30. I'm not too worried about the surgery but I'm worried about the period right after surgery when the pain hits and you wonder "what in the world have I done" moment. Did you go through that feeling? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I went home after my consultation and set up my appointments as soon as I could. But I only had to do the surgery clearance from my primary doctor, blood work, psych eval, and upper GI so what what worked for me may need to be spread out more for you. Best wishes and good luck!
