All the Biotin in the world isn't gonna stop it. Lol. I'm on a high dose of it plus I used Biotin shampoo along with Bosley shampoo. I just gotta ride it out I guess. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm 7 months out and it's bad. Like a hand full falls out everytime I shower. You can pretty much see bald spots on my head when I put my hair up in a ponytail. I pray that it will slow down here soon. Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app

Today is my last Kaiser Options class
Jdserra replied to TammyLee66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a little advice from a Kaiser post-op: Don't wait around for them to call you! Call them! They drop the ball all the time. And when you are scheduling your surgery date with the Dr ask to be put on the cancellation list. You will definitely get bumped up much faster this way! Good luck everyone! October 2016-Surgery Date. Where are you now?
Jdserra replied to Sleevie1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
While working out DON'T be discouraged by the scale. You will not see it move. And if it does, your trainers right it might go up. I've been doing CrossFit for a few months now and the first month a the scale didn't move but the inches we're coming off for sure. As my clothes are fitting much better! It's important that we're working out to keep or loose skin under control. Plus you'll feel so much more healthier to! Keep up the good work! Sent from my SM-J700T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Protein intake, struggling
Jdserra replied to vsgbeauty13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was a hard core GenePro fan up until today. I mix it with my coffee every morning. I've heard people saying that you don't get the full 30mg... it's more like 15mg but that's okay with me since it's so early in the day. I had my 5 month checkup today. my nutritionist had never heard of this brand. She looked it up while we were in the office and said it looked fine. But later in the day she sent me this message.(see below). So I guess it's not what we should be on. I'm going to switch over to Unjury, hopefully that brand mixes well into liquids. Btw it hasn't stopped me from losing weight. SW-235 CW-179 five months post op. "Hi Jessica, We met today and you mentioned you use Genepro as your protein supplement. That is actually not a supplement we recommend. Our bariatrician found no independent analysis to support the protein they claim to use: "instantized peptide whey, hydrolyzed whey and genetic hexapeptide protein." I encourage you to switch to another type of protein, for example Unjury or Isopure which both offer unflavored powders. Thank you, Karen Garcia-Herrera, MS, RD Center for Healthy Living, Fontana" -

That he is! He's a nice guy I'll give him that...but you can tell he's clearly there to do surgeries and not build relationships. He knows his job and does it well. But I'm sure there are plenty of other surgeons who can give you both. -

As far as the sleep machine goes... They will send it home with you and you bring it back a few days later. It records all your information and they just plug it into their computer and read it. If you don't like bulky stuff on your face ask for the pillow instead of the Mask before you take it home. The pillow is a small little thing that goes under your nose as opposed to the whole mask that goes over your face. Hopefully your insurance covers the machine because I'm pretty sure they're going to tell you you need it. I swear It's their way of making a little extra money. I graduated 8/12/16. They took awhile to call me to schedule with the therapist and doctor (2 weeks past from graduation and I still haven't heard anything) I had to call and request a call back which happens pretty quick. Unfortunately they were booked so I had to wait two weeks for both appointments, each one was one day apart but they want you to have both before you can see the surgeon. The day before my doctor/ bariatric doctor appointment they called me and said he called off sick. So that put me back another 2 more weeks for the rescheduled appointment. Just don't miss the appointments and hopefully they're not fully booked like they were with me. After I walked out of the doctor's appointment they said I would hear from the surgeon's office within a week. From my experience and everyone else I know you get this call within a day or two most the time it's the same day you hear from them so when I waited three to four days and still didn't hear anything I had to call the Kaiser office back and sure enough they forgot to send my file over to the surgeon. She said she would do it right then and there ...no more than an hour later I got the call. That was on a Wednesday, the surgeon scheduled me that Friday Oct 21st. The surgeon gave me his first available appointment which was November 30th. I asked to be put on the cancellation list being that I'm a stay-at-home mom my schedule is completely open. He actually ended up having a cancellation that following Monday LOL. I had my surgery Monday October 24th. So it came up fairly fast on me. So be sure you ask to be put on the cancellation list! -

Your instructor will let you know during class when you can start labs. The Psyc eval will be scheduled after you graduate from your classes along with seeing the doctor on more time before moving onto the surgeon Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App -
Just had my Kaiser orientation
Jdserra replied to TammyLee66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry for the late reply. I did 12 weeks of classes out of Fontana. Sleeved 10/24 1st class SW-245 surgery day-235 CW-185. -50lbs. You need to be ontop of them after you graduate. They tend to drop the ball alot. I was stalled by an extra month because of them. Just do all your labs as soon as your told. I'm sure they are going to say you have sleep apnea too lol. So you'll need to get your machine before surgery date. I haven't used mine since that day. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll try harder at responding faster [emoji2] Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App -
Sleeved October 25th, am I on track?
Jdserra replied to afriendnwv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 10/24 ...my weight slowed down to almost none the past two weeks. Sw235 Cw185. I started boot camp two weeks ago. So maybe just gaining muscle. I use GenePro for most of my protein intake since I can't stand shakes. I think we need to start paying more attention to our inches lost at this point. Protein recommendations!
Jdserra replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use GenePro in my coffee every morning. You have to add in this order to prevent clumping. GenePro, creamer then coffee. My creamer is cold to it controls the the temp and prevents clumping. I also use a self stirring mug (check eBay for them) blends it perfect! No protein taste and it starts the day off with a little less than 30g! Sent from my SM-J700T using the BariatricPal App -
