    What did your FEET do?

I was a 9 before I got pregnant with my son. With that pregnancy, my feet went to a size 10. I hope and pray that they will get smaller too after surgery!!

Sleeve Buddy Needed for June 1st!

That was my goal when I originally started the WLS journey with my band back in 08. My son was 2yrs old. Now he is 10. Still need to keep up with him! I want to be active with him and not miss out on stuff I can't do because of my weight.

Sleeve Buddy Needed for June 1st!

Hi there! I just started my 6 month process, so I am expecting a June date too I am located in Warren, having my surgery done at Royal Oak Beaumont by Dr. Krause. I saw on another thread that you are in MI too! Where about?
  7. Yep! Just had my surgery Dec 14 at ROBeaumont!Hi Daisy! Hope your recovery is going well!! What Dr did your surgery? Dr. Krause did my band back in 2008, going for a revision to the sleeve. I'm guessing that will be in June as I have just started my appointments and my insurance requires the 6 months.
  8. Hi! I'm from MI too. Warren. Where in MI are you?

    BMI and insurance approval

Thanks! That is awesome - want something done, do it your damn self!!!! I wish I had records to get, but it's been a while since I have been seen by any of them. No co-morbidities, so I have to be at the 40, and wait the 6ms with new visits, which isn't too bad. Could be worse. I thought it was going to be an issue to keep from going under the 40, but now I am thinking it won't be. They unfilled my band and now I am hungry more frequently now.... I might see if I can get a partial fill to help control some of the sudden hunger issues til I get closer to my 6 months.

I believe if it had slipped again, they would be able to do it all in one surgery without having to do the 6 month wait. I could be wrong, but I think I've seen other cases on here that have been like that. Got my results back... no slippage. So now to get the 6 month thing started. You think with all of your immediate family medical problems, that would be acceptable for the insurance qualifications. One would think, huh?? Lol Well I hate to hear the "bad" good news. However, I will be rooting for you over these next 6 months! They'll be over before you know it!! You're welcome to contact me should you want to chat....SCREAM....whatever you feel! Thank you! I'm bummed about the wait, but it'll be over soon enough! I hope yours comes up quickly too! Keep me posted on your progress too or if you need to rant!!

Yay!!! Congrats to you FINALLY getting your surgery date! Sounds like it was a long, winding road, but you are there! They definitely don't make it easy for us, do they?? Sounds like your new Dr. is a keeper!!

Yes!! I don't want to gain, but now afraid that I might even gain since I got a complete unfill of my band yesterday. Yesterday was also the start of my 6 months of appointments for my sleeve conversion. My surgeons office sent me for an upper GI (done this morning) to see if there was a problem with my band and causing the horrible nighttime reflux. If there was a problem, then my conversion would possibly be sooner, if the band needs to be removed and I could do both surgeries done in one shot. But the feeling I got from the radiologist today was that the band is fine. Good, but not good..... ughhh. I have a call in to the weight control center to schedule my first appointment there with the dr/nutritionist.

Thank you! I know in the next 6 months they will expect me to lose some weight, but that won't be a good thing IF it keeps me from getting the final approval!! Ughhhh!! Good luck to you too! ????

Thanks. They did email me a copy of it all, and it says BMI of 40 or above, or 35 with co-morbidities. I'm hoping they go with the BMI of the initial appointment of the process.
  18. I am 5'6. I'd be happy to get into 10 or 12 jeans. Currently 18.
  19. My original surgery was in 2008
  20. If I remember correctly, once you have met all of your appointments and insurance approval, your date should be pretty quick. I think mine was within weeks.

  22. Hi Shelly. I'm in Warren. Who is doing your surgery? I currently have the band. I have an appt with the NP at my surgeons (Dr Krause/Royal Oak Beaumont) office Jan 6 to see about a conversion to the sleeve.
  23. Hi. I had my initial band surgery in 2008. Needed a revision due to a slippage in 2013. I am now hoping for a conversion to the sleeve. Has anyone ever had this done after a prior revision? Thanks.
  24. nicksmommy

Hoping for band to sleeve conversion

Thanks! My concern is that I already had the one revision/repair with my slippage. I'm hoping he will still do it. If he won't, then I need to start looking for a Dr around here that will. I've seen a couple others on here that have had it done, so it is possible!

Hoping for band to sleeve conversion

Thank you! You have given me hope! I am just so worried my surgeon won't do it. He told me when I had my revision after the slippage, that if it did it again, that'd be it, nothing else to do.
