42 year old mom whom has yo -yo'd up and down the scale since I was 14. I have done 5 years of research on weight loss surgery trying to figure out if it is the right tool for me. I got my answer last January when o found out that I am Lyme positive, I don't have Lyme disease but at some point in my life I was exposed to it by being bit by a tick. I went to my pcp for excruciating joint pain and found out that way. Along with the joint pain I have pitting edema in my lower extremities so when I do walk for exercise my legs blow up like balloons. Add sleep apnea, rls and relux and I decided enough is enough. I need to gain control again and live a long healthy life with my husband and daughters. In researching I knew prerequisites for my insurance so I got my 3 months of physician supervised diet out of the way, along with my physical, Chest xray, lab work, ekg, sleep apnea test, mammogram and pap. Once I had all of the results I made my appointment for my ill say in doing all of the items before the consult I have cut the time in half. It normally is a 3-4 month process before your surgery. But by doing it the way I did I will have my surgery only a month and a half after my first consultation. Consult was September 14th and surgery is scheduled November 3rd.
