Where is Lipstick Lady when I need her?

I agree with that. -
Loser bench here I come
Redmaxx replied to angelicious117's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations to both of you. Don't let the worrying get to you. You will both do fine. For me the worrying was so much worse than the actual surgery. Please let us know how you are doing after the surgery. Oh, and WELCOME TO THE LOSER'S BENCH! -
I am 9 weeks post op and I still never feel hungry or full I have to force myself to eat. From what I read it takes time for these feelings to "grow" back. I try to limit myself to 4 oz of food when I do eat.

Same thing with me. No hair loss and same amount of grey.

New journey for my life
Redmaxx replied to Lizanne1958's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations and welcome to the LOSER'S BENCH. The time will fly by for you (I know it doesn't feel that way right now) and the weight will drop off pretty rapidly. Don't get discouraged if you hit a stall, it is all just part of the journey. -
We are in a deep freeze as well. I find myself sitting at my desk at work with my coat on. My wife bought me an electric throw on black Friday and I use it every night when I sit in my recliner. I feel like I will never be warm again.

Congratulations. I can't wait to see what mine is.

My surgeon said that RNY was a no brainer due to my diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I still have the Apnea and went from 2000 mg Metformin and 70 Units Lantis and 30 Units Novolog to 250 mg Metforman twice a day. My surgery was 20 October 2016, I am off the insulin and I hope when I go back to see my primary in March 2017 that she takes me off the Metformin. I was told that I will probably always be on the CPAP machine and also my primary said she wants me back on cholesterol meds just because they can prevent heart disease. To me, if my BP, weight and diabetes is under control, why should I go back on meds that I don't need?

The day after I posted this my Team Leader went to Urgent Care and was told she had Scarlet Fever and Strep Throat.

Do you tell others? Do you feel embarrassed or ashamed?
Redmaxx replied to JuniperBug's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
For me I didn't really care who knew. Since I am running for a State of Michigan Veterans of Foreign Wars position I put it on my FB page. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

I broke out the old X Box 360 today and used it with the Kinect for an hour long work out. I had forgotten all about it. It was a workout. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I walked the mall with all the troglodytes this morning. Single digit temperatures with negative wind chills so I didn't walk outside. I thought the X Box was a good addition today. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I hate Zales commercials
Redmaxx replied to Jazzzyjay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That is what I was planning on doing. Thanks for the advise, I appreciate that. -
I worked up until the day prior to surgery and then I couldn't return to work for two weeks (because they didn't want me to drive until after my 2 week follow up). I had my surgery on Thursday and was teleworking from home on Monday. If they would have let me drive I would have been at work on Monday instead of working from home.

She seems to act differently since I had the surgery. I am not sure how to take it. -
I am 8 weeks today and it has seemed to stop for me. It only lasted a few weeks with me.

My sleep doctor told me that I will probably always have to wear a CPAP due to the amount of Central Apnea events that I have. I had an oxiemetry test two weeks ago and I am still waiting for the results. This is one of the huge issues with using the VA.

Redmaxx replied to Jazzzyjay's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So sorry to hear that. I am afraid of that happening with me and my wife due to me having the surgery. -
Like everyone else, I would recommend following your doctor's orders. Your doctor knows more than your friends do on this subject.
