Airport Security Curiosity
Redmaxx replied to DeletedMember's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will be flying next month from Detroit to McAllen, Tx. Being a DoD employee I do not get along with the TSA. I need to make sure I am "EXTRA" gassy when I fly. -

Addicted to My 600 pound life.
Redmaxx replied to Redmaxx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Thanks! Now I am totally addicted to Fat Doctor (or Fat Surgeons as some of them are called). I have to wait until my wife is gone so I can watch it as my wife doesn't care for it. LOL
-
Sorry to hear that. How do they treat something like that?

Feeling Great? Do You Still REALLY Need Lab work?
Redmaxx replied to Elizabeth Anderson RD's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Fantastic article. Thank you for writing and posting this. -
I had the "absent minded" thing as well. It has seemed to go away. As far as being tired, that went away after I had the surgery. My CPAP machine is actually helping me now.

One week post op for me was pretty much the same way. You will be able to eat more as time goes on. Just watch your urine, the darker the color (and more smelly) means that you are not getting enough fluids. If you feel that you can't drink any more then eat ice chips. The worse thing you can do is become dehydrated.

I hope that everything works out for you. Sending prayers your way.

My bypass was only 1 1/2 hours. However, with the bypass you lose weight a lot faster than with the sleeve. Also, I was told that there is a 33% chance that you will gain the weight back with the sleeve.

Good luck, I hope that you get everything turned in to them. t just seems funny to me that a lot of companies out there make you do all the work to do their job. Oh well, I guess that is one of the problems of living in the modern world.

Grocery shopping has changed so much
Redmaxx replied to genn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it does change a lot. Just try not to be tempted when you do the shopping. This fantastic journey that we are on can be a difficult one. -
4.5 months out from my RNY.... Big Milestone and pics
Redmaxx replied to Jessh4579's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations! You look great. Keep up the fantastic job and the stall is just mind over matter. You don't mind and it don't matter. -
Tomorrow is my new beginning...
Redmaxx replied to BHealthy70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CONGRATULATIONS! Good luck on your surgery and tomorrow we will be welcoming you to the loser's bench. -
Not only is a heating pad a good idea, but so is a heated blanket/throw. After surgery you will find that you are cold a lot of the time. I am sitting at my desk right now, it is 75 degrees (per the old thermostatometer on my desk), I have a sweater on and a heavy jacket and I am still cold. One of the "side effects" from the gastric bypass.

My surgery application was denied by Fed BCBS.
Redmaxx replied to cyndi990's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
WOW! I guess I got lucky and was approved in September 2016 by BCBS FEP. Sorry that they denied you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
@@LittleBill I hope the neighbors didn't have to call the cops on you last night. LOL

Congratulations! You look great. Your story is inspirational. I have just started my journey and I can't believe the changes for the better. Keep up the great work and again, CONGRATULATIONS!

Since the first of the year the SPAM seems to have gone down. I used to report 4 or 5 posts a day as SPAM, now I am lucky to report one.

You are still early in the post op journey. Emotions go all over the place. It does get better. This time of year is hard as well. Try to stay positive and continue with your therapist. And just remember, we, your bariatric family are always here to listen and try to help.
