How can you tell if you have it?

I don't watch the commercials. Somehow I just block them out and don't pay attention.

Psychological evaluation
Redmaxx replied to billpride's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It is so funny how almost everyone is afraid of the psych eval. All they are trying to determine is if you have a support network, if you can understand what the surgery is about and if you possibly require help due to having a food addiction. Mine was about 20 minutes and was a breeze. -
I believe I was still eating soup at that point.
-
It shouldn't be an issue. Just stick to the pre-op diet now and you should be fine. Three days is not enough to have to notify your nutritionist IMHO.

Anyone had Gallbladder issues?
Redmaxx replied to Berry78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sorry, I haven't had issues. Before surgery I had an ultrasound of my gall bladder to check for stones and since I didn't have any I was able to keep . I am currently on medication (only 6 days left) to prevent gall stones. -
Scared to see new therapist
Redmaxx replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am so happy that it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Please try to stay positive. You should be very proud that you knew that you needed to take this step for success in your upcoming surgery. I wish you all the luck in the world. I am here if you need someone to vent to or just to listen. -
Never had one.

Consult to Surgery
Redmaxx replied to healthyandhappymama201's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me it was about 40 days. -
Is that a question you thought you would ever ask? Congrats. No I didn't. And Thank You.
-
Yeah, I was looking online and I can find them there. I guess the two stores I looked at must just not sell them in store.

Good luck to you. See you on the loser's bench

I am currently running for a State position with the Veterans of Foreign Wars State of Michigan and I have to go to a District meeting about 2 hours away so I don't think I will be able to go to any Super Bowl get together

Scared to see new therapist
Redmaxx replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good luck to you. Try to keep an open mind. I know it will be difficult but you are doing the right thing. Is there a support group at your surgeon's office or at the hospital? That may help as well. Again, good luck to you. -
Sabotaging myself?
Redmaxx replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good luck to you. It is better to get the help now than to try and sweep the issue under the rug. -
@@bayougirlmrsc you're ok for somebody who has been around for almost 8 years. LOL

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.

Sounds like a little buyers remorse. It will pass. Try to keep a positive attitude and do what your surgeon and nutritionist tell you to do. I think that everyone gets that at one time or another.

You can carry ice chips with you in a cup or I would also recommend using a mouthwash such as Biotene. It helps keep your mouth moist. I used to use it before I went to be so my mouth wouldn't dry out while I was using my CPAP. Little did I know that the pressure was set too high on my CPAP and it was causing my mouth to open.

Love the World According to Egg Face.

I for one am happy here. Sure, I may joke around a little when responding to posts but it is never meant to be cruel or mean. It is supposed to help lighten the mood. Yes WLS is a very serious issue, but if you are serious 100% of the time it is no fun. This is a new life style for all of us. And just because somebody has had the surgery a long time ago doesn't mean that they know everything. I appreciate their input however if my surgeon or nutritionist tells me to do it one way I shouldn't be belittled about it.

Welcome to the loser's bench.

Has anyone had their skin tags removed after WLS? Just curious if insurance will pay to have them removed or if it is considered cosmetic like extra skin on your arms?
-
I am talking skin tags, not excess skin like an apron. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Don't get discouraged. Everyone's journey is different. I just got off an eight week stall and I am only fourteen weeks post op. Try to keep a positive outlook. You will break out of the stall.
