I know they have to lower the pressure (again) as my mouth is really dry in the morning. I also need to see about getting something different in terms of a mask. I have to pull the straps pretty tight so that it doesn't leak and now the bridge of my nose hurts. If I have to keep using it maybe I need to look into getting a nasal pillow. We will have to see what the doctor says later this month.

When and how did you know that you no longer needed your CPAP? Since my surgery I have had a ton of energy (had the pressure lowered due to dry mouth) but for the last week or so I feel tired during the day. I am just wondering if maybe I don't need my CPAP anymore? I have an appointment with my sleep doctor on 23 March and I know he had talked about doing a sleep study since I haven't had one done in about 7 years or so.

Scared to see new therapist
Redmaxx replied to Hoping052017's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I try to keep a positive attitude. I know it is hard. Try to find someone whom you can talk to. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App -
You know what? I don't tell people because most of them have some sort of advice that they want to give me. I used to tell people, but know I just say thanks and if they ask how I tell them I watch what I eat (which is true).

How did you get over your addiction?
Redmaxx replied to JerseyJules's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may cheat and try to eat more than you are supposed to or what you are not supposed to but after you purge a couple of time you will stop that. Purging is not fun at all. Good luck to you and see you on the Loser's Bench very soon. -
It wouldn't keep me logged in. It seems to be ok right now. Also, I have had issues with following posts as well.

I grew up in Dearborn with Dr. Genaw. Had my RNY on 20 Oct 2016 at St. Mary Mercy in Livonia.

C pap machine and dry mouth!
Redmaxx replied to erica2185's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You might want to have the doctor turn down the pressure on your CPAP. That is what I did and I don't get the dry mouth anymore. -
I haven't tried it yet. My surgery was 20 Oct 2016.

Well, it may not seem that big of a deal but yesterday was the last day that I had to take Ursodiol (used to prevent gall stones). I am so happy that there is now one less pill (tablet) that I have to take everyday.

Will whomever keeps putting the size 36 waist pants back in my closet stop it! It seems like I go through my work pants every week and remove at least one pair of 36" waist pants (I wear a size 32). Who keeps putting them back in there?????????
-
I have a question about waist sizes of pants sold in stores. Currently I can fit into a 30" waist in jeans (they are loose enough for me to pull them down without unbuttoning/unzipping them) and I have been looking for a size 28. Do they sell them in stores? I have been to a couple of stored but the smallest size they seem to have are 30s.

How soon did you return to work?
Redmaxx replied to katlzxdcj's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Oh and I forgot, there was a 5 pound lift limit that I was on for 30 days. I didn't follow it (I have three needy dachshunds). -
Best friend totally unsupportive.
Redmaxx replied to Mrs Swen's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Some people only think of the bad. You're going to die on the table. Could it happen? Sure it could, but you could also get hit by a car. You don't need negativity. If you wish to keep her as a friend you probably need to have a very serious talk with her. -
How soon did you return to work?
Redmaxx replied to katlzxdcj's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I couldn't drive for two weeks so I teleworked from home. Really you need a couple of week to figure out everything (such as eating, sleeping, etc). Your surgeon should have guidelines set as to when you can drive, go back to work etc. -
My IBS is gone. It sucks that the only way to fix it is with gastric bypass but I am so happy that it is gone.

Surgery for a different reason
Redmaxx replied to RNYNewbie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My RNY was not for weight loss either. I was 246 lbs, 5'6" tall and my BMI was only 35. However, I had Type II Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure, depression and High Cholesterol. I am down 66 lbs since my surgery and my pressure on my CPAP has been dialed way down and I am only taking 250 mg Metformin twice a day(down from two types of insulin and 2000 mg Metformin). I salute you for having the surgery. -
Just got this e-mail through work from Medical Weight Loss. I thought I would share it with everyone. January is over and if you made a resolution, how is it going? If you are like most people who set big weight loss goals and are finding yourself coming up short, remember the difference between those who fail and those who succeed really has nothing to do with how well you did last month. Real success with healthy changes comes when we realize we still have the next 11 months of possibilities. So, if you did set big goals in January and the last couple of weeks haven't gone as well as you would have hoped, try some of this month's tips to help you get back on track for the rest of the year. Getting Back on Track: . Make it a daily 'norm' - Eating right should be a permanent lifestyle change. The journey is actually more important than reaching the goal. Why? Because it's the journey that teaches the behaviors and reinforces new habits needed to maintain the goal. . Re-examine your WHY - We only commit and do the things that are truly important us. Asking yourself,"What's in it for me?" and "Why do I truly want this?" are great starting point questions to help get you back on track. . Overcome the slip-ups - Slip-ups are completely fine (even expected), and there's not a single person on Earth who hasn't stumbled in their path to success. Take some time to design a plan to prevent future slip-ups. Don't ever give up, commit to your plan, and start again. . Start tracking your successes - When we let set-backs become the deciding factor, it is too easy to throw in the towel. Change your mindset by focusing only on your successes, no matter how small. It can create the positive energy needed to keep you going. "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new." Socrates

Tracking helps you be consistent
Redmaxx replied to Treadmillwalker's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have tried to use MFP multiple times and I just don't like it. I wish Garmin Connect would contain the tracking stuff. -
@Armygalbonnie. Thank you and Congratulations on your success as well.

YIKES! I am so sorry that you have that.
