Just over a week.. Pain
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to morningangel79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm suppose to use Mirilax as well but thankfully everytime I've started to feel (bloated) like I'm going to need to then I've gone n didn't need it.. I can't believe they're telling you to just let it happen naturally after a week.. You mean you haven't gone for a full week? .. Munky -
Just remember the end goal for all this and stay strong and positive about it all.. Be stubborn about it.. You want to do everything you can to make sure it goes well! Munky

Did i screw myself out of surgery? !
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Lunabugg20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"How long does nicotine stay in your blood? Nicotine is usually detectable in a blood test for 1-3 days after the consumption of a tobacco product.* However, the length of time that nicotine stays in your system may vary based on how much or how often you smoke, and may also be affected by your age and general health. In addition, sometimes cotinine levels are used to determine nicotine’s presence in the body. Cotinine is what nicotine becomes when it is metabolized in the body. If this is the case, it can take 1-10 days." ... There..googled it.. Now.. Don't do it again! I quit last February and haven't smoked since.. And won't because when I lose all this weight I'm going to want skin surgery! .. Stay strong! *hugz* Munky -
Easily gaining weight?
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to JonteRaynal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wouldn't think 11#s is "Water weight" .. Do you log the food/calories you eat? Maybe it would help you to do so if you don't.. You might be surprised.. You can also look up how many calories it takes to sustain the weight you are then you'll know what you need to stay under to continue to lose Munky -

Weight loss after gastric sleeve
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Jodygirl1982's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had bypass the 22nd of November, opened up, not laproscopic.. At my 2wk appt I expressed my frustration at not having lost anything.. He says.. You were have a big wound in your belly and will have lots of Fluid.. Be patient.. You're healing.. A week later I'd lost like 15 #s.. But now the scale hasn't moved again.. 6weeks out.. But I'm still healing and went through being back in the hospital because I developed infection and am now wearing a wound vac.. Which should be getting removed tomorrow.. Curious to see what the docs scales show.. Ugh.. I'm so not good with being patient lol Munky -
Just an update from the losers bench
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to ThinJenne's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Once upon a time I was 1 of those people that called it "the easy way" after jumping through all the hoops this past year with all the pre-testing stuff.. Then actually going through the surgery(being opened up because laproscopic didn't work because of mesh) developing an infection 2 weeks out and ending up back in the hospital for 4 more days.. And still have a wound vac on(getting off tomorrow).. I'm 6weeks out.. Hell no this isn't the easy way out! But I'd do it again and I wish I had done it sooner Munky -

Anyone having or had a sleeve weighing 200lbs? SD 14/05/17
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Rachel79uk's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Rachel79uk Not sure how old you are but I was a pretty solid 250 forever and was living ok.. Then I got Fibromyalgia and more recently 3 yrs ago I got Lymes Disease which caused me to get arthritis and horrible mobility issues so of course I piled on weight which made it ever harder to move around.. What I'm saying is.. I wish I had done it way back when I was younger and thinner! Munky -
How to stay positive, After feeling a bit regretful!
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Missbeauty16's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
*big tight hugz* I understand the feeling regret thing a tiny bit. Im 6days out from an open bypass that was suppose to be laproscopic.. But turned out I had a nice size piece of mesh in my belly he couldn't work around laproscipicly.. I'm blessed to have very supportive parents, sisters, & children.. I had this surgery hoping to alleviate some health issues so I keep focusing on that.. And honestly each day is better.. But usually at some point in the day I feel like crying.. It'll get better! Try to stay focused on why you chose this and stay positive Munky -
Terrified of surgery.
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to TheSunWillShine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, one good thing is, at 18 your skin should rebound alot better than at 50 so it might not end up being as bad as you anticipate.. I completely understand the self esteem issue.. And it sucks.. But you're only 18 and 430#s.. What happens as you get older n heavier or older and have health issues that end up making you gain more weight and lose mobility.. I want my mobility mostly right now.. I'll deal with the skin stuff when I have to.. I wish you the best whatever you decide to do! Munky -
Eating normal as in pre surgery normal
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to laylalayla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is the medical condition that caused the gain.. Gone? If not you still have to change your eating habits somewhat or you'll gain back.. If it is gone.. Great! But what if something happens again? Munky -
Did anyone cheat on preop
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Tboddy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems to me like you want others to talk about it so you feel better about what you did.. But me having something off plan PRE op is a whole lot different than you trying to rip your stomach open by eating chicken breast n salad when it hasn't healed yet and you're still on liquids.. Thats your choice it would scare me Munky -

Nobody Thinks I Need Weight Loss Surgery
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to Tierra T Tij's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Do they think that no you don't need surgery or just don't want you to go to Mexico to do it? Do you not have insurance to have it covered here or do you just not want to have to wait to have it done here? .. There are too many variables n unknowns for me to say.. Just go ahead and do it.. I will say if you feel like this is the only way you can do it and you're the one paying for it then it's no one else business but yours. I hope it works out for you.. Good luck! Munky -

Cooking after surgery and kids
FunkyMunkyBrat replied to megulu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chances are it's not going to hurt the kids to learn to eat healthier either.. I'm lucky my son is grown and can fix his own meals of necessary.. But he's actually grown to like the healthy stuff and eats pretty much the foods I eat (I was doing Protein n veggies before wls diet) Munky -
