Chap stick and a blanket. My hospital room was freezing and because i was dehydrated my lips were soooo chapped. I didn't need anything else. I was focused on walking off the gas pain and sleeping

How much water should I be drinking?
xoxococojay replied to jjsasha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Bare minimum 64 ounces of fluid per day. If you can do more that's better. -
What is included in the 64+ ounces of fluid each day?
xoxococojay replied to sheliss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My dr said the same thing. Water and protein shakes all count. -
You look great! Keep up the good work

Weights. The heavier the weight, the faster you'll tone up.

Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
xoxococojay replied to Dtrain84's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think lots of people gain the weight back because they never really fixed their issues with food. They lose weight and think they can eat whatever they want or eat the way their thin friends do. But really you can't. In order to maintain you almost to be healthy and active forever. Plus i think it happens over time so they don't realize that they're off track and slipping into old habits. -
Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
xoxococojay replied to Dtrain84's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I kept it a secret from most people. I told a few close friends and regret telling some of them because they think i took the easy way out. Or they think they can just drink a protein shake for breakfast and lose tons of weight, and it doesn't work like that. I just prefer to keep people out of my weight loss business. It's easier. -
Surgical consult....
xoxococojay replied to nh-vsgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Usually you're given a range. You shouldn't be given a date yet because that depends on how quickly you get all your stuff together (nutrtition classes, support group meetings, endoscopy etc) and your surgeon's schedule. Don't get hung up on the date. -
Please help! I'm nervous....
xoxococojay replied to Puppy200101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One day liquid diet is crazy. You need several days because the point of it is to shrink the fat around you liver making it easier for your surgeon to operate. That can't happen it a day. Usually takes two weeks. Have someone take you home when you're leaving the hospital but you should be fine to drive after a few days. Only you know your body. Definitely don't drive yourself home the day you get released from the hospital. As for pre-op and post op liquid diets: find one that you like the taste of. Your taste buds WILL change after surgery so don't stock up yet. Make sure it's at least 20 grams per bottle and under 200 calories and less than 5g of sugar. -
The post op liquid diet is easy simply because you won't have an appetite at all and you won't be able to eat food yet. You won't want anything the first week or so, so it's nothing to fear. It will be over before you know it

Omg my fat friends are worse than my skinny bitch friends...wtf
xoxococojay posted a topic in Rants & Raves
I'm just venting. Lately all of my heavy friends that know i've had my sleeve are irritating the living **** out of me. They all know i'm working really hard on losing weight. They all know i'm not big on eating out anymore because it's a complete waste of my time and money. But yet all they want to do is ask me to go out to eat more unhealthy **** with them. I realize that they don't get it. But it's beyond annoying. I wish they would understand that i don't need to do that anymore. Side note: one of my other friends sees me with my shakes now so she started to do them too. She hasn't quite figured out that it's not going to work for her if she just eats junk food for the rest of the day and doesn't exercise. Sorry for being so bitchy. Can anyone relate?? -
That's fair. I'm just afraid of snacking because that's how i got to my heaviest in the first place. I'm sick of shakes too. But i haven't found a breakfast that i like yet, so i'm stuck doing it that way for now.
-
I think that only posted half of my response. But i was saying that with a shake i'm closer to 80. Without a shake, between 60-70
-
Oh 100g is way to much for me. My dr and dietician all said 60-80 grams. They said anything more than that i would be over eating. I've never been a big breakfast eater so i usually do a shake (30g) because i hate eating first thing in the morning. If i do a shake i'm closer to 80. Without the shake, if i force myself to eat breakfast, i'm between 60-70g. @blizair09

3 meals or 6? How much do you y'all eat? (Post- op vets)
xoxococojay replied to xoxococojay's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Eye ball, i'm used to it. And i stop eating when im full. And i only use really tiny bowls, plates and containers. I had to re-train myself. -
I'm glad they figured out what was going on. It's easy to be in support groups and compare your progress to other people's. Don't get caught up in that, and don't get discouraged. At least you are now losing weight and as long as you watch what you eat, you will reach your goal weight without question. It won't be easy but you can do it. Besides 9 pounds in a short time is still an accomplishment. And as you start to eat more, you will continue to lose more. Don't stress. Good luck to you!!

Same. Mine said 60-80 for women. And i think up to 90 for men. I invested in a food scale- it's not like i really need it. But that helps. I'm the same way, i'm determined to keep it off and eat less forever. You already got your mind right, you'll do great!! -
Does this seem right?

Need list of high protein foods
xoxococojay replied to BrightEyes77375's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Greek yogurt- i like fage. Low fat cheeses Boneless skinless chicken breast - i use oven bags so it's not dry Deli meat Shakes Super lean (92% lean ground beef) Ground turkey (which i despise) Shrimp Crabs Tofu/ tempeh. I like tempeh more Beans- all of them. There are tons of protein rich foods hat you can eat. Have fun with it. -
I literally made a post about this topic asking the same question. Everyone is different so find what works for you. Literally just experiment. I do 3 meals- with no snacks. I don't need to snack and 6 meals is just over eating for me. It's to much.
