Kristen's Journey From Pre-Op and Beyond
brendaew replied to KristenVSG2014's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Another good idea is to write your old self a letter and remind yourself of all the reasons you took this huge step to change your like. Those days you may be doubting your decision you can reflect back and remember. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
I was sleeved September 6, 2016 I'm going on 9 weeks out and am down 40 lbs since surgery. For any of you that don't know about www.insurenutrition.com this company contacts your insurance co to see if you qualify to have your Premier Protein shakes, scar and stretch mark cream covered. My insurance co covers it and the shakes alone is a savings of $100.00 a month. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Don't know if this helps or if you already know but www.insurenutrition.com will contact your insurance co to see if you qualify for your premier Protein shakes, scar and stretch mark cream to be covered. My insurance covered it and that a savings of $100.00 a month just on shakes. Just make sure you don't have a cap on prescriptions. Hope this helps and congrats on this wonderful journey. I am 9 weeks post op and down 40 lbs. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

I went out to sushi the other night (2 months out) and had 2 pieces of albacore sashimi and it worked out great. Just get the Soup, it's not like you're not going to eat much of it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

While I was at Walmart picking up candy for trick or treaters I picked up some sugar free jolly ranchers and Peanut Butter cups by Russell Stover and they are really good. I still don't eat much being 2 months post op 11/1 but for something once in a while this will work...1 peanut butter cup 80 calories 6 grams of fat 0 sugar 8 carbs 2 Proteins. Not bad Happy Haloween Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

brendaew replied to boosh10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery took 3.5 hours. Had a syst and some scar tissue from a c-section. I feel after all the dr. Appointments and surgery I got a clean bill of health Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Will I be broken forever?
brendaew replied to kjkashmaniac's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree it does get better, you have to build up to your fluids and Protein..give it a chance, take a breath and let it work. When you start seeing the results you'll feel better about it. I think everyone (at first) asks what did I do. Now most would say I wish I did it sooner... Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

The only things I didn't like was my mouth was really, really dry and I felt like I did a hundred sit ups...not bad for the surgery I went through...I have no regrets...it was so worth it Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
It definitely gets better...by the time I have a few bites or drink my Protein shake I really don't want anything else...try and get your head around it and except that you took this huge step by having the surgery...The results will definitely be worth it....keep your head up and try to enjoy Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
