Thanks I just don't want to suffer with more intense heartburn and acid reflux. I don't want to be sick all day because I made a choice to have surgery. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

It will make gerds worse. So the RNY is better for people that have gerds. That's what I got out of it. I don't want the RNY I am 236 lbs now I have absolutely no desire to loss 100 pounds or more. I had my mind made up on 50 to 60 lbs. I would look soooo sick at 136. It just wasn't in my plan. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

Malabsorption is a major concern and constipation
sugarbear234 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've been doing my research and malabsorption is a huge issue for me. This is when the small intestine can't absorb important Vitamins, nutrients, and Fluid properly. Which then cause deficiencies and other issues. It is hard for me to wrap my head around. Then the constipation how long will this be a problem. A lifetime? It sounds like I'm trading one set of problems for newer ones. Can someone share so real honest information please? Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -

Gerds, gallbladder, anemia, and osteoporosis
sugarbear234 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am in my late 40s and I meet with my surgeon at the end of December to plan for the sleeve. My concerns are great I have co- morbidities high b/p, bmi 40, and history of TIA's. That is real reason for the surgery but when I see what I am trading them for it causes me to question. Vitamin, nutrients deficiency, malabsorption, how does this look at 50 60 70 years of age when bones aren't getting what they need? Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App -

I just found out my Vitamin D level was low. Now on pills once a week to get level up. I wonder if this will delay my surgery since it take 12 weeks then another 12 weeks to have blood work drawn and checked again. This journey never boring that's for sure. Surprise around every corner. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
