    Question about incision sites

I wouldn't worry. I was told that you would know if you were in more pain than normal, or if the incision sites were hot and swollen and weeping then to call. Plus you can definitely tell when you have over done yourself! I did it a few times after surgery. I don't like not being able to do things! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Post-Op B.M.

You will have some blood in your stool this close to surgery due to having your stomach your stomach removed. The blood has nowhere else to go so it goes there. I was one of the lucky ones and never experienced it. But was forewarned about it Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    C section / RNY comparison?

With the outcome, no, healing time, as long as you take care yourself is about the same. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    C section / RNY comparison?

It really depends on your pain tolerance. But I didn't use any pain meds on either. Not when I came out of surgery nor when I was released. But I have an extremely high pain tolerance. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    C section / RNY comparison?

I didn't have the bypass, but had the sleeve and had a c section (2011 for the c section and 10/21/2016 for the sleeve) didn't have any pain meds for either one! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    help 5 days out

I felt that way for a while. I was told it was from eating too fast. I was sleeved on 10/21/16. But now as long as I take my time it isn't too bad. I am pretty much on regular food now. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    help 5 days out

Try other liquids too. Or make your own broths! Pinterest is awesome! As for Water it is hard, I still struggle, however, you can add like Crystal light or lemons for flavor to help. Also you should be able to have Popsicles too. (sugar free of course) Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Anxiety

I got sleeved 10/21/16. Sorry to hear about your loss. I was so anxious when it came time for my surgery even though they rescheduled it twice. I almost cancelled it myself every time! But then it finally came time to do it and I did it! I have been through many surgeries and get bad anxiety but think of the outcome and that's what gets me through! 9. So I am 7 weeks post op! I have lost 30lbs and about 34 inches around my whole body! This is so exciting for me. I just got a treadmill yesterday finally! I am wondering what other types of exercises everyone is doing to help get the weight off too. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

How long before I can sleep on my side?

It took me a few days but I was also not on any pain medications at all. I started out by using body pillows though! helped so much. I can't sleep or lay on my left side too long though. It feels really hard if I do. Sleeved 10/21/16 Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Cook book!

It helped me for the most part. Granted it is hard to do when you have a 5 year old lol and no dinning room lol. I was able to do it in the hospital. But I was only in there over night. So that really didn't help much. I have found that I do have to set alarms on my phone to remind me to eat though otherwise I don't eat. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Cook book!

As far as "or more", it shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes, at that point it is considered grazing (coming from my surgeon and classes, I know everyone is different) so I would definitely check the time frames! I am no pro that's for sure! Lol Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Cook book!

Lol I figured if I give myself at least 2 minutes between bites I should have it gone in the 20 minutes. If I start feeling sick I am either eating too fast or I wasn't ready for the food just yet. You will be able to tell when you're getting full. They will tell you in the hospital too, but early on you will get full faster because of the swelling, so when you start feeling full, get up and walk around first before you completely stop eating. Cook book!

Watch your clock on your phone or something and time it out by at least 2 minutes. That's what I do. It will hurt physically if you don't. I learned that the hard way. I still do it for that matter depending on the food! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Cook book!

Lol I still do it! It is a plus not being able to eat so much, let me tell you! Granted I never ate much to begin with, but now I eat WAY less! Just have to make sure that you make it worth while! I am only about 6 weeks out but can only eat about 1 egg and about half of a small Roma tomato. I know some people are different. But just have to make sure you eat slow! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Cook book!

I love the first book. I have that one as well. I really need to try some of the recipes in that book. How does the other book look? I have so many sleeve books as well as cookbooks helped me before my surgery (10/21/16!) Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    6 weeks post op

That's the hard part. I have since moved. now have to get reestablished and find another surgeon. I moved from colorado to Utah. Don't get discouraged. I know people lose at different rates! I sometimes don't feel like I am losing at all or feel like I have lost what I have. Did you take measurements before your surgery? If you did, take them again. I did today. It really helps you to see even if it is just a little bit! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
