Hi Kim. I'm type 2 diabetic and have a underactive thyroid too. I got myself a fitbit and paired up the fitbit app with my fitness pal.In short it told me what my daily calories should be to lose weight. I could see calories going in vs calories burned too. I love myfitnesspal as it not only shows the calories but also tells you the nutrients you've put into your body. I started doing this in Feb 2015 and have lost 8 stone. I'm booked for a gastric bypass on Tuesday and will continue to use both apps to monitor my activity, nutritional consumption and calories in vs calories out.
