I already had my surgery set for this Friday so when they told me Dr. Haag would be out for a "personal emergency" but, Dr. Fiallo could still perform it if I wanted, I jumped on it. So as of this Friday I will be Banded!

Well, barring anything unforseen I FINALLY get cut on Friday, it's about freaking time! I will post again once I am finally a member of the fraternity! Wish me luck!

I have gone thru the very same things a few times now. Was scheduled for last month and got Strep throat and had to reschedule for this Friday, now once again I find myself getting nervous and wondering the same damn things you are. Am I doing the right thing or not? Well, I guess I am going to find out because come hell or high water this time it is getting done and I am looking forward to the future! You should to!

I Think I would die if I couldn't have several cups of strong(Starbucks french roast) black coffee a day. No sugar, no cream, just black!

After cancelling my June date due to Strep throat my new date is July 25th.

My heart goes out to you and hope everything is OK. I got strep throat 3 days before my Surgery and was sicker than I had been in 30 years. Rescheduled now for July 25th. I am rooting for you to get better!!!!!!

Till the mid 80's at least I was still in the Navy so I never got into the whole look of the 80's. But you have to admire the courage of anyone that can wear those shorts and keep on smiling, my hat is off to you.

I actually had an email from just the other day, he will show up I am sure.

Well I have just some of the most wonderful news. As of today I got confirmation that I have Strep throat and my surgery has been cancelled and I will have to reschedule it for another time. I am bummed/pissed not to mention just having gone thru one of the WORST weeks I have ever had. Been just sick as a dog with a fever over 104 for several days before I finally got some anti-biotics. I am feeling much better now but still upset. Now I will have to wait until the end of freaking July to get this done. Just always seems to be one thing or another standing between me and the band. But no one ever accused me of being anything less than a stubborn Bastard so I havent given up yet, just makes me more determined

JUNE 13th, do you think Friday the 13th is a bad day to do this? Not ME!!!!

Yes I powerlifted competitively for more than 15 years. Then things just started breaking on me. I finally figured out you cant be a human bulldozer forever, I just never stopped eating like one and thats why I am here!

Well I am off for the final Doctor's office visit until the surgery next Friday and what do you know but I am beginning to get nervous again! The future has always been such an unknown and many times, at least for me, an adventure! I have seen so many people on this site do wonderful things and make incredible changes in their lives that I can't help but be inspired and motivated myself. I will keep everyone who is interested up to date as I go forward and hopefully achieve some of the same success I have witnessed here. DOnt worry about it. Friday the 13th is nothing more than a superstition. Focus on why you are doing this and nothing else. I know I will since my surgery date is the 13th also! Good luck!!

Well I am STILL waiting to get a surgery date and find myself getting impatient about the process. Just ranting a little about things and admiring the progress others are making.

You better believe it Fenton. I am anxiously counting the days. I have my preop appointments this coming week and thats it for obstacles until the 13th. I have off from work that week and the week after so plenty of time for recovery! I HAVE noticed your success as you have reached a pretty big milestone. Feel like I should sing something to the tune of Happy Birthday or something. My heartiest congratulations to you! You and others on here continue to inspire me with your ongoing success!

I have told only my Family and a very few close friends. I know what the people I work with are like and frankly I dont think its' any of their business one way or another what I do. If I were very close with any of them I probably would, but I am not, so I wont. That being said the ones I have told have been nothing but supportive for me and happy I am doing it. Me too!

Well after some gentle prodding on my part I finally got them to get things done and I have a date of June 13th. I am so looking forward to joining the ranks of the post bands! My Thanks to all for the encouraging words and inspirational efforts of everyone here!

I got the call today and my date is June 13th. I dont even know what to write I am so excited.

I am currently waiting to get my surgery date set up. I finished ALL the requirements 5 weeks ago and have called the office every week, twice a week, for the past 5 weeks and STILL have not gotten even a return phone call. I realize they have a busy office but I am beginning to feel as if I have chosen the wrong organization to go thru. Has anyone else had this problem or am I just being to impatient? I started working on the required steps back in December.:frown:

I totally agree, do anything and everything you can to look and feel as good as you can for your Bride and for yourself. Both of you are worth it!

Oh yeah, I will wait as long as I need to. It's just waiting for the Doctors office to set a date for the surgery. I finished all the prerequisites 3 weeks ago and have called their office several times only to be told that they will call me! Just being frustrated and whiny because I want to get moving. Had hoped to have things done by now as I just started 2 weeks off from work and I dont usually like to wait around for others to get things done for me if I can do them myself(which I cant in this case). Anyhow I'm just being a whiny baby so thanks to everyone for listening and sorry about the spewed venom! I am over it now---

Just thought I would post an update, finished all the Insurance requirements as of Monday, now I am just waiting to get a date for the CUT! Really looking forward to the change it will bring in my life.
