Hello!! I was banded at Wadley on December 28, 2005 by Dr Keilin. She is wonderful and her husband Dr. Heiker is, too. Their staff is very professional and have always been extremely nice and supportive. I am a slow loser, :phanvan but it is ok, because when I finally started to loose it came off slow and steady. I have lost 69 lbs, and need to loose about 25 more. It took me several months and fills to finally start making progress. It has gotten a little harder now (I am hoping it was from the Holiday eating), but I am determined to get the 25 lbs off. So, everyone wish me luck, and I'll be thinking about you guys, too. It is so good to read about people that are close to your area going through the same thing. Everyone have a wonderful day!!

I know this may be a CRAZY question, but does anybody else have weird noises come from thier band area.

Malice X Girl - I know, it is awful and sometimes embarassing! It is really bad at night when I lay down. At least I am not alone or crazy! Thanks for the replies!

I'm in! I need to loose 10 pounds to get to onederland, and it is coming off really slow! Great idea! Maybe this will give me some incentive to try a little harder. -
Hello! I know this question has probably been asked and answered a million times on this site, but am I suppose to have restriction before my first fill. It seems like I can eat just about anything and I stay hungry!! I had surgery on Dec. 28th and the doctor told me we would talk about a fill on my next appt, which is Jan. 30th. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks a bunch!

Hello everyone! I did it!! I had surgery on Dec. 28th. I guess I am a big baby, because I am still pouting. I still have alot of pain on my left side where the port is. The hospital staff was absolutely wonderful! They were all so caring. The surgery went really well, but the recovery was not very fun. I have a lot of tightness in my chest, it is kind of like air traveling up my esophagus really slow, and it is pretty painful. Other than me being a weenie I am fine. I went back to work yesterday, and by the time I got home I was exhausted. Maybe with time my energy level will get back to normal. Thanks for all the encouragement I got from this site. Happy New Year to all!!!

Hello! This is my first time to post anything on this site. I have been reading some of the post here since October. I was waiting to see if my insurance was going to cover the lapband for me. I found out this morning that they are going to cover it. I am very excited, and would just like to say this site sure has been helpful. Thank you all!!

Just wondering how many Bandsters & Pre-Bandsters are in Arkansas?
trichard replied to Jessiebear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello! I was banded by Dr. Keilin in Texarkana, Tx. It is right on the line though and I do live in Arkansas (Nashville). -
Good Morning Everyone! I just found out that my surgery is going to be scheduled for December 28! I have to go on a two week liquid diet starting on the 14th. That means no Christmas Dinner for me. I am hoping it will be well worth it though. For those of you who were asking about the husband/wife team in Texarkana, I am using Dr. Keilin (the wife), and she seems really great. The lapband coordinator there (Betty) seems great, too. Everyone have a great day!!

Hello, My surgery is scheduled for weds. 28th, and I am starting to get really scared. I thought this was what I wanted to do, but reading some of these post have me thinking that maybe it is not worth it. I have two small children and a husband that is disabled. I have to be there for them, and I am worried something might go wrong. I really need your prayers, and maybe some words of encouragement. Thank A Bunch!!!

Sugarbear - My insurance does not cover at Wadley as well as they do with St. Michael's, but they agreed to pay anyway, and Wadley is going to offer the same discount that I would have gotten if I would have been having the surgery done at St. Michael. I had to have a letter of recomendation also. I hope everything works out. I was so excited about the surgery, but now I am getting nervous!! There have been so many people with problems lately, that I am kind of scared. I have two small children, and I need to stay healthy for them. Good Luck!!!

Actually none of it was. I had been told that our insurance would not cover the surgery, so I never even sent it in to them. Another girl at the company I work for was approved in November and that is when I decided to try. I really had no problems with them. I had to have some test ran, and then a referal from my medical dr. Come to find out their requirements for the surgery are that you have to have a bmi of at least 38 and 2 medical conditions. I should have tried a long time ago, but I guess I was scared of the surgery itself. I am so glad I found this website, because it has really helped me make up mind to go through with the surgery.
