  1. So question for all you veterans, I'm 9 months out from surgery, at goal weight, feel amazing but I'm noticing some old habits starting to creep back up. In particular I'm having a lot of head hunger, cravings and urges to snack. How do you stop yourself from doing that! I need tips and tricks to stay on track!

    Discouraged 8mo

Do you mind me asking, what is your caloric goal for a day? I eat very similar to what you described but I'm not sure if I'm eating too many or too few calories

    Goal weight?

I was sleeved in Mexico so have had less direction and follow up care than a lot of you. How was your goal weight determined? Did you pick a number, your doctor pick a number? Was it determined by healthy bmi? I ask because I will need to have abdominal apron surgery but can't have it until I've reached and maintained my goal weight for 6 months.
  4. I average around 700-900 calories a day. I keep my carbs under 65 grams, protein between 65 and 100 and fats I try to keep as low as possible but don't worry as much about because it's hard to keep that low and protein high. I was sleeved exactly 5 months ago and I'm down 75lbs.

    band to sleeve

I converted from band to sleeve 5 months ago. Best decision ever! I had a ton of pain from my band and scar tissue. That all went away almost instantly. The pain from surgery was pretty minimal and I was back to my normal routine less than a week after surgery. I'm down 75lbs since October 13th. Couldn't be happier.
  6. I was sleeved 10/13. High weight 260, surgery weight was 242, current weight is 168. That's a 74lb loss in just under 5 months. I'm running or doing some other form of high intensity workouts 5-6 days a week. I also follow the diet extremely closely and track every calorie I eat. I'm one of the unlucky/lucky people who dumps anytime I consume sweets or simple carbs. Ice cream, sweet cereal, bread, pasta it all makes me feel like I'm dying so I just don't touch it. I'm feeling amazing! Congratulations to everyone else on your amazing transformations!
  7. I have the sleeve and I dump with any carbs or sugar. It's awful! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  8. I had my sleeve done when my daughter was eight months old and still breastfeeding. I have not had any issues with supply and it has not affected my weight loss at all. I did not pump and dump either. I nursed her right after I was awake enough from surgery and never missed a beat. I would not push it back if I were you. Motivation or lack there of

The best advice I can give you is to just do it. For me the hardest part most days is just getting my shoes on and getting out the door. Make yourself go on a walk even if it's only around the block. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

2nd Failed Band, Time for a Sleeve!

My mom used Dr Lopez for her sleeve and was very happy with him. You shouldn't have any issues being by yourself, they will take very good care of you. I'm not sure about your other questions but I can tell you I converted from band to sleeve in October and I'm so thrilled with my results. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Surgery date 10/13/16 Height 5'4 HW 260 SW 242 CW 189 Total loss 53lbs I've had lots of stalls. I find I don't lose or will even gain closest to my period. I've also found that working out pretty intensely helps. I keep track of everything in MyFitnessPal including everything I put into my mouth and all of my exercise. My last stall lasted almost a month with a five pound gain then I dropped 12 lbs in two weeks. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. My mom was sleeved three years ago, about two years after her Parkinson's diagnosis. I would be happy to get you in contact with her if you have questions. I'm sure she would be happy to share her experience. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Onederland!

I was sleeved on 10/13 high weight 260, surgery weight 242 and today after almost a full month stall I made it!!! I haven't been under 200 in almost seven years and only twice in my adult life.. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. I could have written that word for word. I'm in the exact same boat. I'm 7 weeks out and have been stalked and Gaining for almost two weeks now. So frustrating! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Following! I'm 7 weeks post op and haven't lost a pound in almost two weeks. I'm following all the rules and working out 5 days a week. I actually gained this week and I'm so incredibly frustrated by it all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pickles and olives

I eat both. They are lifesavers when I'm sick of eating bland chicken for every meal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Anyone ever have a day where you just don't feel like eating because it's so much work. For me to get enough Protein I'm eating two ounces every two hours or so. By the time I wait the hour after eating, then spend the next hour drinking before starting the cycle over again. It's a lot of work and that doesn't count meal prep time. I'm only 5 weeks post op so not hungry at all. Some days the effort to eat seems like so much work. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I would look into going to Mexico and paying out of pocket. That's what I had to do and I don't regret it fir a second. So happy to not have the band anymore! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Food Forever Gone

I'm 5 weeks postop and currently have zero tolerance for anything that is high in carbs or sugar. It makes me feel terrible. I drank a glass of lemonade and thought I was going to die. I stick to Protein and veggies and that's about all I can eat. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Loosing super slow

This is really interesting about pcos and losing slowly. I have pcos am 5 weeks out and everyone else who had surgery the same day as me has lost almost double the weight I have. I'm also breast feeding a baby so wondering if that's making things worse. I know metformin can help with pcos symptoms and regulate hormones for pcos. Anybody know if you're allowed to take it after sleeve surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had a band to sleeve revision done on 10/13. I initially dropped about 20 lbs but stopped losing about two weeks ago and have actually gained about 5lbs back?!?!? I'm following all the rules, eating my Protein first, not getting much else in. I know that around three weeks post op you can hit a stall but gaining? I don't even understand how that's possible with the way I'm eating. I'm breastfeeding my almost nine month old daughter, not sure if that's affecting things. Or if my revision is making things more difficult. Either way at almost four weeks post op I'm feeling pretty discouraged and regretting my decision to have the sleeve. Anyone else with similar experience? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Just need some encouragement

Aggiemae as a matter of fact I do have a level one biohazard area in my home. I have four sons who share a bathroom. I wouldn't trust leaving me scale in there though, it would probably end up in the pond behind my house . I will have my husband move the scale and only weigh once a week. I'm just very paranoid that I'm going to screw this up so I'm being overly cautious with weighing and stuff which is making me crazy!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Daily Calories

I had a revision a little over three weeks ago and I'm struggling to get up to 400 calories a day. Aside from having absolutely no appetite the effort it takes to eat makes it difficult. I'm focusing on Water intake and eating what I can when I can. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anyone have young kids?

I had my sleeve done on 10/12 and had my 8 month old nursing daughter with me in the hospital. I've had no issues resuming life as normal just a couple days after surgery. I have five kids and am able to do everything except pick them up. My 8 month old is ok because she is under 20lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
