To satisfy my craving I'll eat a sugar free Reese's cup, the little one in the bag. It does the trick and I'm good for awhile.

pattycaketoo replied to Bamabutterfly69's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pre op diet is to shrink the liver so there is room to get to the stomach. -

So many questions no answers :( please help!
pattycaketoo replied to JessgettingSleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With most insurance companies they require this because they want to make sure you make the changes in your life with food. I had to do six months of a supervised diet as well. I gained two pounds and had to do an extra month. Use this time as a learning tool and make the changes you need. It helps in the long run [emoji4] -
Gastric Bypass Old Timers....please
pattycaketoo replied to geets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do dump unfortunately and it's not fun. Fats make it happen. I stay away from sugar. Don't get me wrong I don't eat fat either, I learned my lesson. -

I put on a tshirt that six months ago did not fit. It's a 3X, it swallows me. I was telling my daughter n law that it's just so hard to believe at times all the changes happening. -

pattycaketoo replied to Kaycee7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do an extra month if classes for gaining weight per my insurance. If I didn't lose what I gained then I would have been denied. -
I don't see why not

Consult- Dr recommended bypass
pattycaketoo replied to tera73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had one problem with my bypass. I had it November 2016 and I'm 36 pounds away from losing 100 pounds. It's one of the best decisions I have ever made, wish I wouldn't have had a few years ago. -

Consult- Dr recommended bypass
pattycaketoo replied to tera73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told the same by my dr, however, he explained that sometimes you will get acid reflux sometimes requiring a revision to bypass. One surgery is enough for me so I went with bypass. -
Sometime with the sleeve you can develops reflux, sometimes bad enough to need a revision. For that reason I went with bypass. One surgery is enough for me. Also, your insurance may not cover another surgery.

Walmart has a sugar free sauce that is great. I can't remember the name of it.

I had to take it for six months. -
Omeprazole (Prilosec)
pattycaketoo replied to Sleeved3.29.17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's prescribed to reduce the acid production in your stomach to help with the healing process. It's not safe to stop it unless your dr tells you too. -
Can we use an air fryer?

I have one on the way now! I've heard great stuff about it. -
Dizziness and Heart Rate
pattycaketoo replied to Sleeved3.29.17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you take BP medicine it's probably time to stop taking it. Go see your PCP for a possible medicine change. I was taken off BP meds after two weeks of having bypass. Sounds like issues with that. -
What do you wish you would have know pre-op?
pattycaketoo replied to rlsanch2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say the Gerd. You can control the dumping by not eating the foods that trigger it. Gerd from what I understand, can just happen with the sleeve. -

The reflux and needing revision is why I just went with the bypass. One time is enough for me.
