Graphic warning! Is it supposed to look like this?

I found out from a nurse that the incisions look good, just drainage trapped behind it from the purple glue. Was told to give it a light squeeze to get the drainage out.

Graphic warning! Is it supposed to look like this?

I messaged my doctor and sent him pictures already. It is just too early in the morning for responses right now. My nephew is asleep and I don't want to risk waking him. (He is two years old.) I don't have the quietest voice when on the phone.

Graphic warning! Is it supposed to look like this?

The thing is, I just got off my parent's insurance so I don't have any insurance at the moment. I just sent my doctor a message with pictures I just put up. Hopefully I will hear back from him soon.

    ****. Why me?

I want to ask about the stitches.

I got the dissolvable stitches and the purple glue, I have been itchy around the incision site, though I have been scratching lightly near it or not close to it. I took a shower today and noticed one of my stitches is missing a stitch and glue. This is day 4, and my birthday. Is it supposed to heal this quickly? Or am I turning into a superhero that heals quickly? I don't scrub or touch that area in the shower, I just wash my hair and face, then I am out. Does it look a bit healed? Just curious.
  6. I am just curious if I am being problematic with showering, I still don't feel comfortable from the gas as it hurts.

How long did it take to shower after surgery?

Ohh, I guess I will try to shower. I am on two pain pills because of how intense the gas pain is. (I have a dent where I think the damaged fat deposit is . It hurts, like a muscle being stretched too much.
  8. I woke up from surgery not regretting a thing (Think because I was given pain meds when I was asleep on the way to recovery room) I was there for 3 hours total even when I was okay. I had to pee, but I wanted to wait until I had gotten my room, because I was not used to the idea of a bed pan. I found out the incision near my belly button started bleeding a bit even after being glued. But it got patched, which is good. Overall, I was happy for a short time until I got into my room. I got pretty emotional and started crying when my fiancé wouldn't answer his phone, I called 20 times because I wanted him here with me. He ended up coming two hours later. Just tonight, I walked 5 times, the two times I got up to walk, I walked 2 laps, and then just one an hour later because gas pain was getting pretty bad (I had not passed gas all today.) the pain was a 7, so I was just given pain meds to help me sleep. So far the pressure of the gas is still there, but the pain is a 2-3. The nurses are so nice. My highest weight was 360, today my surgery weight is 337. My goal is 160, and my height is 5'7 1/2. Overall, today was good. I was not nervous, I was calm. I woke up high and yelling "Hey you!" To a nurse and telling her how pretty she is. Here I am. I just wanted to tell my experience from yesterday. I get discharged this late morning.

Thanks, I got sent home today. I was told by my doctor, that I could go home today or stay longer... I wish I could of stayed a bit longer to rid the gas pain. I don't regret the surgery, but I wish I was still in the hospital for another day or two. I thought one was supposed to stay until the gas was gone. I just took gas x and I am still very uncomfortable.

Thank you, I will enjoy it. Haven't passed any gas yet, but I stopped drinking broth and protein shake to decrease the air intake.

Thank you~ My birthday is on the 10th, I consider this a birthday present. I'm just hoping to pass gas soon. I really want it gone, the gas pain and pressure.
  16. I was just curious the 4 weeks after surgery if somebody has gone swimming as a work out, if so, how much did you lose and were you tired out easily from swimming compared to walking? I plan on swimming for the summer.
  17. My highest weight was 360, I was recently down to 336.0, I was following my diet and my carb intake, but I am gaining? I weight currently 340.2 . Either it is the end of the day, and from all the shake and low carb hot dog (Only two) that I had. My time of month is also coming up. I want my liver to be shrunk in time. I dunno if it is water weight that is creating the stall before surgery or what. I was told by my pcd (Primary care doctor) that my period will probably be on surgery day. Has anybody experienced this problem? Surgery is on the 6th this month.

I'm following my 2 week diet, but I am gaining?

That would make sense. I just hope my period doesn't come during surgery... The idea of being on blood thinners and it coming... Not into that idea.

Oh good. Thanks, that eases my anxiety.

I'm following my 2 week diet, but I am gaining?

I hope so! I was told I can have stevia and some sugar substitute though only limited. I have gone a bit over the 20 grams just by two grams twice. I hope that doesn't jinx it.

    June sleeve buddies?

June 6, I got all tomorrow to find out my time for surgery.
  22. Iwanttofitinmyweddingdress

Getting so close! How do you know if your liver shrunk?

I have been following my 20 grams carb diet, recently had 118grams of protein from meat and I protein shakes. I'm very excited and have my eyes on how I will look within months after surgery.
  23. My surgery is June 6, and I started my 2 weeks preop diet on the 23rd. It's hard when you work at fast food place and surrounded by all the carbs. I went from 345 to 335 within that time period, hoping to get to the 20's in weight for surgery. But I have been curious, how does one know if their liver is shrinking? Is it just by weight loss?

    Sleeve in June

I am scheduled for June, I have my pre-op history and health appointment tomorrow along with seeing the nut and psych doctor, I am excited. I am currently 349 (Final review I was 342, mainly gained weight from water weight from time of month) I am preparing the nesting cycle. What all should I bring with me to the hospital? I need to make a list! I am not worried about the surgery, I am looking forward to being healthier and putting on clothes that I like. I am staying one day in the hospital, and my fiance will bring me the nintendo switch when I am up in my room.
  25. Hello, my name is Jaimie. I am 25 years old, I weight currently 349lbs and I am 5'7". I was told before the surgery I need to be below 337. It is hard. I did the 20grams low carb diet (Atkins) and it made me physically sick (Weak, nauseous with vomiting) and I had lost 17lbs then last month, but then I ended up stalling and gaining it back despite the diet. I was told to go on a liquid diet, and this is week two of it, and it sucks. I only lost 3lbs, plus aunt flo came. Because of my weight, I have been getting sick a lot, and I was told I am within the high risk. My surgery is supposed to be next month, though wasn't given a date. (I am on my parent's insurance until this June when I turn 26.) This surgery is very important to me, but losing weight within a time period of not easy at all and it makes me worried they will say no to me, even when my insurance will say yes. I know the pre-op diet I will have no problem with, but my main question before the other questions. Even if you are high risk, will they still do the surgery? Was it easy to lose the weight within the time period before the surgery for a safe surgery? I am getting to the point where I don't care about the risk, because it is that important to me.
