We was allowed liquid only for two weeks. Try what helps you. If your dehydrated you won't loose and try get your protein. I know you've been sick. But maybe don't take it all in at one time just gradually thru the day. You have done the hard part the surgery. Your body will adjust. Just don't stress out this early. Good luck to you. It will get better.

I'm on 2 weeks right now and the scale is going in the yard in the morning if something don't give. Grr:( I had mine in November also, maybe it's just a phase.

I would not have been able to fly on my 3rd day. I was glad to be able to have the Doctors come check on me at the hotel after I was checked out at the hospital. The way they plan it out gives you time to rest and make sure nothing is wrong before you fly home. By day 5 when it was time to go to the airport my strength was back. I believe that Dr. Illan and staff have their patients best interests at heart.

Can you smoke after or be around people who do after gastric sleeve? I was sleeved on Nov 7, I don't smoke and doing wonderful so far, had surgery with Dr. Illan in Mexico. But now my friend wants it and she smokes and I'm all trying to be supportive and this is really one of the best decisions of your life. But now I've read you have to quit smoking and she has a stressful job and if you take away cigs and food. I don't know. I was just wondering is this so. I'll help her however I can.

I was sleeved in Mexico by Dr. Illan on Nov. 7 which was the best doctor and staff. But yesterday, I looked down and saw my feet for the first time over my stomach in along time. So happy!!!! Not so happy part, I'm freezing it's cold in Kentucky, I have always been able to wear big sweatshirt outside and no jacket and get by. Now, when I got outside, I dress for blizzard and in the house, I have a big fuzzy blanket all the time. It's not even snowing yet and I've not lost that much weight. I'll have to drag a heater around with me soon! My house is warm to, my kids run around in shorts!! I love the weight loss but freezing, I hate!! Hw245 Sw 234 Cw 210

I went to Mexico and my husband and kids knew and two close friends and mother-in law. We tried to keep from my father- in law because he blows up about everything. But by day 2 he hadn't seen me, they told him. So by time I come home everyone in town knew, people in town, at church ask how I was feeling so I just went with it. If I go back for plastic I'll just get a ad in the paper and announce it. I don't regret going to Mexico.

I was one of the first four that stayed on Nov 9 and believe me if it smelled like smoke, I would have packed up. This is a very nice hotel!!! You walk in and the atmosphere is relaxing. The restaurant is there very nice and the casino is to the back for non-smokers. On the side thru like doors are where people smoke in another part of the casino. You don't go thru there, you don't have to have to go near the casino or around if you don't want, your not near smoke. The rooms are very big and nice. I was able to sleep and relax here. I pretty sure you won't smell smoke unless you go in the wrong room. I know that you will enjoy your stay here. Good luck on your surgery!!

If your in that much pain,I would call the surgeon office before I left to get on a plane. My plane ride I was in no pain but my back killed me the entire plane ride and I couldn't think if I was in pain how I would make it. So I don't know the situation but I would call the doctor before boarding. Prayers.

It's hard when your by yourself, yes I did it. Try to get Gas-x and walk some. Really it should get better from here, day 4 was like a turn around for me. Wish you well.

I have been overweight for sometime and everyone in my hometown is getting gastric sleeve. My daughter cheers for high school and every Friday night another person would have had it done, I was finished, I told my husband. He said whatever, I called the insurance company and they wouldn't pay. So I started looking for cash options 10,500 is lowest I found one night in hospital. Really. So I had read Bariatric Pal forums before and started looking for Drs. I researched, I bet I have read everyone's story. I picked Dr. Illan and his group. I believe, I called October 12 sent deposit and scheduled for November 7. I called Bill the coordinator so many times with questions. But every time I called I never got a answer machine He or Henry answered. My pre- diet was explained to me, I was picked up by Stacy the NUT. Then off to the hospital, yes I was nervous, I did go alone. But these people knew I was and calmed me down and was great. They even found someone that had surgery the day before to ease my nerves to talk to me. She was great. I had test best surgery and met Dr. Illan wonderful Dr. Then after surgery was a little rough nothing can't handle nurses was awesome ring call bell there within 1 minute or less. You are never alone. There is a vallet or helper there also beside nurse, they are wonderful. There is a doctor in the hospital 24 hours a day. The care you get is unbelievable. You will be up moving night of surgery, it will help with gas. Then when Wednesday roles around you move to the hotel. You graduate, you are a little tired. You are not turned loose. You still have a vallet to show you around and where to eat and he is very nice. The hotel has a restaurant and a casino. It is a nice hotel. Believe me they take care of you every step. They only thing I regret is not flying home first class, my back hurt. I would have paid it. Everyone is like you went to Mexico by yourself, Yes I did. I would go back in a heartbeat to THIS group of people again because they treat you special. Thank you Bariatric Pal

Sorry I read this wrong, if this is before surgery. It might be okay. I would say please stay hydrated and rest. Enjoy your time.

I'm one week out and take a nap a day. Disneyland I've been the food I could handle but walking on a diet that you will be on,that will be hard part. Using all your energy. I don't think you would be able ride the rides with your stomach. I can hardly go across the farm, being bumped around. I know it's a family trip but please do take care of yourself and rest when you feel like it. Good luck with your surgery. Take care of you.

I'm sorry you had a weak moment but start over I'm on plane ride home from Mexico was sleeved the 7th also. The guy that showed us around said if you eat something off your diet you could vomit violently and mess the staples in your stomach So your lucky. Just good luck on your journey.

I am down here now was sleeved on Monday. Dr Illan and his group are excellent. You couldn't ask for better treatment or people. Best decision I made. Bill, Stacey and everyone are here to help. They helped calm my nerves, wonderful people.

Just wondering if anyone else was for that day or the next?

I leave Monday for surgery with Dr.Illan and kinda nervous but I know, I have made a good choice. But I don't know about packing medication on a plane do u keep in your bottles? Anything else I need to know?

I go November 7th to have surgery with Dr Illan. I believe that I have called Bill 10x already and not once has him, Stacey or Henry not answered my call not any machine. I fill like so far they have set my mind at ease. Good luck with your surgery.
