I love this guy!!! I'm going to meet with him on June 25th for my second appointment (after finishing up a 3 month supervised diet - required by Aetna). After my appointment my paperwork is going to be submitted for approval. I was wondering if anyone else had used Dr. Holsaeter and what your experience has been? I found a couple of OLD posts, and they all looked like good reviews, but I'd love some more feedback if it's available. Thanks! :ohmy:

Aetna PPO is my insurance, (my husband works for Dell Computers in Oklahoma City). They require a 3month nutrionist supervised diet plan. It's not too hard and they don't deny you if you don't lose weight on it. Aetna did not require a psych eval for me which was surprising since I am on anti-depressants. As far as Health Net, I don't know much about them.

My God Juli, you're an inspiration. You look fantastic!!! I'm so excited about getting my band...maybe these photos will help make this pre-op time a little easier :huh2:

My surgery was moved to 12/29 due to some travel conflictions. I'm scared to death of screwing up my pre-op diet on Christmas.

My lapband was scheduled for Nov. 13th, but due to gall bladder issues I won't be having my lapband put in at that time. I will be having my gall bladder out! New surgery date: Dec 18th....I'm disappointed but, at least it's still happening! So, hi to all the Holiday Hotties!

They were actually going to try that but I didn't find out that was an option until my doctor said yes...4 days after my pre-op diet should've started. (that's when the office person decided to contact me, heh) I'm basically stuck at this point, between work demands and family demands looks like two times for me! UGH :rolleyes2:

I haven't been banded yet, but that sounds like gall bladder. I had some horrible attacks a few weeks ago and felt the same way. My surgeon ordered an ultrasound since I was scheduled for Lap Band surgery on Nov 13th. I'm now having my gall bladder out that day and my Lap Band on Dec 18th. You might want to have your doc do an ultrasound.

My doc requires that I quit at least 2 days pre-op, but he prefers 2 weeks. I've been "cutting down" for months but still haven't managed to give them up completely. I have went from a pack a day to a pack every 3-4 days.

WOOHOO Grats!!! I can't wait for that day!

Mine is 53, my doc hasn't said a word and I'm scheduled for Nov. 13th. He does want me to do an ultra-low carb diet for 10 days pre-op to shrink my liver.

I just got the word, my surgery is Nov 13th....I'm SO EXCITED but nervous too :thumbup: So, what are we calling ourselves?

I'm totally eating like a PIG as I start my pre-op on Oct 24th. I'm bummed that I'm behaving this way :biggrin:

Nov 13th here!! (at least it's not FRIDAY the 13th) LOL

Not to mention a tad pink around the edges.

On a side note, I'm not even banded yet and I hate cold water first thing in the morning. I imagine that won't change after banding, lol. :thumbup:

I knew I had it, mainly because I woke up with horrible headaches night after night. My DH did tell me he was worried because it "sounded" like I didn't breathe sometimes at night...however, he didn't have to tell me anything I KNEW I had a problem. I just got my CPAP and am having a horrible time getting used to it...but I know eventually I will. Hopefully after I lose weight with the band I won't need it anymore :thumbup:

Becky, I hope you're able to get approval for plastic surgery. Insurance companies don't realize it doesn't just stop with weight loss. My best friend had to have pannicolectomy and it took her 2 years to get them to approve it, after many denials. She lost around 300lbs after having gastric bypass. Hang in there! Make em pay, you deserve it!

Hi Paulette I live in Moore, OK. I'm in the final stages of being approved for the Lap Band. Nothing worked for me either at least not long-term so I know what you're going through. I'm glad you found these boards, there's so much information available here that will help you. We can do this! :cool:

Ok, I'm sick of being fat...but even sicker of being thought of as older then I actually am. Just little comments, but I can tell that people assume that I'm about 10 years older then my 34 years (soon to be 35 in about a week). It's BULLSHIT!! I hate the fact that my weight really adds the years to my face...I went to pick up some scrips for my mother the other day (granted I used to drive-thru) but, I could tell that the chick at the window thought I was my mom.....UGH. Anyone else have issues with people thinking you are older then you actually are??? I'm sorry but this just really pisses me off. I don't have a ton of wrinkles or anything, heck I don't even have gray hairs yet, SO WTF?!?!?! When I lost weight in the past I realize I looked MUCH younger, looking back at those pics now I can see why people would think I was a little older...but my God, my mother's age??? Seriously....wtf.:drool:

I ordered on a Friday morning and had my sample packs on Tuesday.
