Question for all post op vets ( at least 2 years post op or longer)
NotOnMyWatch replied to xoxococojay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You may as well get used to it. That's what happens when there are precious few successful vets around. Well, the OPs questions have been duly answered. With as little drama as possible. There was No need for all the "the sky is falling" comments about everyone leaving. Just give it time, and someone'll answer. To answer your other question, I am a recently sleeved friend of a 3 year post op RNY patient. I was initially skeptical of WLS (research vs cost benefits) until watching his transformation up close and personal, developing hypertension, and waiting to move to a state with few hiccups regarding coverage prompted my surgery decision. I stalked BP for 1 year before creating a profile a few days before my surgery.. Sent from my SM-N900P using the BariatricPal App So not only do you name-call and stalk people, but you have reading comprehension trouble too? "Recently sleeved" is not 2+ years post-op and being a friend of someone who is doesn't make you a vet either. This is the kind of advice-givers who will dominate going forward, now that all of the reliable people have been banned. Lord help you all. -

Curious....under what principle are you changing people's user names, people who don't have the ability to change them? Why be so childish? -

According to the new rules, you aren't allowed to ask the opinion of a specific sub-set of people. Be careful. The ban hammer is out. -

And now he's apparently changing the banned users names to things like Time To Grow Up and Stop Being a Child. This is your leader, folks. Hey Alex, how about you take your own advice? Ah, name-calling, the last bastion of the uneducated. -

But the blockbuster is your admission (long suspected by me) that you read BP members' private messages. IMO reading members' private messages is a significant ethical violation by any message board operator. Those who choose to remain here need to understand that clearly. This. Right. Here. -

I know you won't bother deleting my account, but I won't be here anymore. You remind me too much of the incoming "president," bullying people and taking choices away from them. If I felt safe here, I don't after reading this post of yours. I don't believe for one minutes that medical professionals (unless intimately associated with you) give a whit what happens here. You have banned the true sources of wisdom and allowed the petulant children to remain. I can only assume I haven't been banned because I'm still pre-op and therefore a potential customer of your store. I hope know one sues you after they receive permission to eat pizza and drink beer in the recovery room and then rupture their sleeve, from the wonderful fount of knowledge that remains here. You have permission to use nothing that you find in my profile or private messages. -
Grazing and how to end it?!
NotOnMyWatch replied to sasharbinx's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've been months in therapy to deal with my grazing. I can't get approved to move forward to surgery until I master it. I feel like I have. It's super frustrating. -
I can't even imagine wanting to eat anything fried, or being successful long-term even going down that road. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App

I have to have therapy as part of my program. She helps me to identify the unhelpful dialogues in my head. But it wasn't until I went away by myself for a month for the sole purpose of soul searching this and a couple of other topics that I finally figured it all out. I understand this isn't an option for most people but I'm in between jobs so the timing was perfect. I journaled, colored, walked the dog, and wrote letters to my dead parents, sister, and abuser. I burnt them in a ritual at the campfire. And now my head is in the right place. Good luck. You can do this! Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App

Why tell people if you think they won't support you? Now is the time to surround yourself with positivity. Skip telling him. Better for your mental health. And at least 75% of this journey is mental. Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App -
HAPPY HEALTHY HOLIDAYS CHALLENGE!

It's taken me about 4 months of therapy, a month of soul searching at the lake, a lot changes to other parts of my life that were "weighing me down" and a toe dip into OA to finally figure out my triggers and how to overcome them. For me, much of my overeating was visual. Donuts that I bought for my son on the counter? Mine. Hubby's chips on top of the fridge? Mine. I spent last weekend rearranging my kitchen so that my triggers were hidden and all 'my' food waz in one cabinet so that I don't have to open the others. So far, so good. Good luck!
