My name is Gail.  I was referred to BariatricPal by my surgeon, Dr. Michael Sawyer.  I had the lap--band done in 2010.  I was really doing good and lost about 50 lbs when I started having reflux.  My doctor had to loosen the band to get my reflux to stop.  We tried to fill it again but as soon as we did the reflux would start back up.  He suggested the sleeve.  After doing some of my own research, I went back to him and told him I wanted to try and get approval for it.
My insurance turned me down.  I wrote a letter of appeal and was finally approved.  My surgery is scheduled for November 22nd.
