family that won't stop eating badly ?
Treadmillwalker replied to marissa_d's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It is inconsiderate of them and you have a right to ask them not to eat it in front of you. Ask them to stay in the car and eat their fast food. If your mother doesn't drive at night tell her she is welcome to eat what you made for the family or get something out of the freezer/cabinets and cook it. Be strong. Had lapband surgery 10/12/16 -

I want to share I don't tell people I had lapband surgery. I tell people when we are out to eat if they ask that I'm focused on eating healthier and losing weight. This is all true. Post surgery you have a tool, but you still have to make the changes. Every magazine talks about chew food thoroughly. Eat small portions. High Protein and low carb. Exercise. Watch portions. These are all things a person should do if they want to lose weight regardless of having surgery or not. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Yes, I felt shame. I had lapband surgery and my doctor requires all weightloss patients to go through 6 months of classes pre-surgery. I also joined the monthly post surgery support group led by a dietician in my surgeon's office. This has helped me. I realize I'm not alone in my shame and embarrassment. I've tried every diet, meal plan, shots, etc. only to regain the weight. I think I've spent $15,000 US dollars through the years and numerous attempts. You are not alone. Big hug. I'm afraid of the consequences of not getting in all my Protein. A woman in my monthly support group has lost a lot of her hair due to this issue. I drink a Premier Protein shake (31 grams) every night if I haven't got enough in from food. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -
I mix the Protein powder with a small amount of milk and then gradually add in the remaining milk. This works for me. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Treadmillwalker replied to elizabethirenex3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat high Protein (80 to 100) and low carb. I'm banded and find high high fat goes right through. I suggest you gradually increase your fat as you transition to full keto. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -

I was banded on 10/12/16. I will have my first fill 11/15. Approximately how many calories are you eating per day? The dietician said that sleeve and bypass post surgery patients average 500 a day for the first 3 months. She did not mention a calorie number for lapband patients post surgery. (It was a large group class.) How many calories are you eating? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

Drinking alcohol with band
Treadmillwalker replied to madison.alvarez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As you lose weight your tolerance will change. I suggest sipping your shot and sipping a glass of Water. If you try to drink your shot in one gulp it may come up because of your band constriction. Tell your friends your friends you love how beautiful they look and you want to slim down. You are changing your eating so ask for their support of your efforts to lose weight and eat healthier. You don't have to mention the lapband. I don't mention mine. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App -
