So I know that a lot of the time your tastes change, which is probably a good thing, so i dont want to get too ahead of myself BUT.... I really dislike, even hate, a lot of fake sugar (splenda, stevia etc) I dont mind a few Protein powderss with splenda in it thank god, however I thought id be proactive and try a few additives like sugar free torrani (i got the pumpkin flavor) and i tried that today, holy hell it was awful! So now I'm worried, what if i continue to hate the taste of almost all the sugar free stuff? It sounds as though sugar free Popsicles and Jello are really staples for a while. Sorry for rambling, i think my question is, what do you eat if you cant stomach fake sugar?! or has anyone who prior to surgery hated splenda then went on to like it after?

They give you instant dry mouth so I think the lemonade is the least weird, almost even good, because you expect a tartness with lemonade lol. happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama. Oh and, cold.tastes a lot better than room temp happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

Wow I had to double check I thought *I* wrote that post lol! I am in the exact same boat, my bmi was 40.9 at my 1st appointment yesterday . And unfortunately they don't submit to insurance (for me anyway) until right before surgery. So the doc and the nutritionist told me to start working out again but also kwp my calories up, add in an extra snack or a shake. It's so weird to be told NOT to lose and maybe even gain a lb. Oh wow, you must be so close to the BMI cutoff. I wish I had that problem lol. Well the upside is you don't have to kill yourself to lose any weight before hand. Did they say when you would be able to meet with the surgeon? 3 months or so??They didn't really say timewise, but they did say I'd probably go quickly since I'm "easy" lol. Well today went well! Unfortunately they're telling me basically don't LOSE any weight at all until I meet with the surgeon! Yikes, in fact if I gain a pound or 2 that's ok. Lol. happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

When everyone says "sugar free popsicles" I assume you mean the ones made with Splenda or similar and not the all fruit no ADDED sugar ones ? happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

I was just over a bmi of 40 so I had the same fears. Yes that first appointment will be the weight they go by. I would wear layers and heavy shoes lol. After that weigh in you won't have to worry about that again Thank god! I can't wait to start exercising again , is that weird lol! I'm just guessing here but I do know a lot of surgeons will remove your gallbladder too at the time of your surgery if they see stones. happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

How did your information session go on Wednesday? Did you find it helpful?It went really well, it was informative, I handed in all my paperwork and now I'm just waiting for my stupid PCP office to do their job and actually fax over my records, if they had, I would already have been able to schedule my 3 required appts! Isopure unflavored is totally unflavored, it barely alters flavors , maybe if you mix it with just Water but that sounds nasty anyway lol happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

So I just got the sample pack in the mail and decided to try the strawberry sorbet, I think I actually like it! But it wasn't cold enough and I used my bullet to blend it so it was super foamy so I decided to put it in the fridge . Does anyone know how long it's good in the fridge once you mix it with Water ? happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.
