  1. I pretty much only count my Protein grams and Fluid oz's. I get in anywhere from 75-85g of protein. I lack in the fluid dept I def don't make my 64oz Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thanks you guys! I often feel so confused and lost in this process. My height is only 5'3 and my BMI was like 42 at surgery. My bigger concern was that I lost most of that 35 in month one. And I hear all these horror stories about people not being able to eat meat or tolerate meat and I can eat it just fine. I have meatballs and chicken and fish and as long as a chew it well enough and don't drink before or after my meal I'm good. So I guess it sounds nuts but I worry because I'm not having as many problems with eating? Yes that sounds nuts Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. My sleeve was done on 10/6. I started to feel confident after the first 20 lbs but this past Sunday I had a birthday party for my 2 year old son and we had a photographer there. Not only does it not look like I've lost any weight I instead look huge. Maybe it was a bad choice of outfit. Maybe it was because I had my period the week before ... I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm good on solids and I can eat meat and pretty much anything I have in a small qty and chew well enough. Maybe I'm not getting enough fluids in. I don't know but I'm so depressed now. My starting weight was. 239 and current weight is 204. Any suggestions on what to do diff? Should I now be exercising? If so then what? And how long? i was self pay so my after care was pretty much non existent. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I was sleeved 10/6. My surgery weight was 239 and my current weight is 204.5 I wonder if my weight loss has slowed down because I am able to eat and digest meat? Any thoughts? I don't get in enough cardio I do know that part as I've been struggling with depression. But I'm also able to eat pretty much anything but small quantities. Fluid is an issue for me I don't get enough in and I know it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. You know I think I may call my PCP and get all my levels checked. Again something the surgeon did not do post op. My insurance was the same they wouldn't cover anything at all Bariatric related. 6. Oh the other thing that's weird but actually was how I was pre surgery as well. When I hit a stall if I eat a tiny amount of carbs the next day I'm down 2 lbs. so before surgery whenever I did a low carb or no carb diet my body just never responded ... it did the first few times I tried it but then nope. So I don't know if all that resets after surgery. My Bariatric surgeon has zero suggestions for this in fact they tell me to look for it on my own and then find a therapist on my own. Extremely glad I had the surgery so I don't want to sound ungrateful. I just am needing for lack of better words... friends who know what this is. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Gotcha.... so initially the first 48 hours was clear liquid Proteins only, then for the first two weeks was liquids. Then soft foods... but in my docs soft foods... it includes fish and meat and eggs cooked properly. cheese... yogurt. From week 4-8 is semi soft foods but it's actually pretty much the same diet as the soft foods. I was told I pretty much couldn't do anything other than walking but then I feel that because I am self pay I got very little guidance on that part and they don't really care to elaborate nor respond after they've been paid. 8. So I've noticed a drastic difference in diet plans from surgeon to surgeon based on what I read here. I was sleeved on 10/6 and I lost 20 lbs the first month but in the second month I have only lost about 5 lbs. I know it's supposed to slow down but I didn't think it would slow this far down and so quick. I'm having an insanely hard time with the chewable Vitamins and being able to keep them down. So my energy level is terrible. My starting weight was 240, pre-op weight was 236, and I currently weigh 209. Any thoughts or insights? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Normal hospital stay?

I was sleeved on 10/6/16 and I was self pay and at the last minute the surgical center cancelled my one overnight stay and said they had a staffing issue and that I would be going home the same day. And my surgeon was supposedly fine with it. I don't think it's. a good idea based on my experience because I did become dehydrated and could have used some more IV fluids prior to being sent home. My vote is at least one overnight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. thats a relief to hear. Is it also normal for me to be more sore in my abdomen?
  11. I was sleeved on 10/6. And last week when I weighed myself I was 212... then my period started on this past Monday 10/31. And I weighed myself today and I'm 215. Is this normal? Or have a screwed up somewhere?
  12. Yeah I ended up passing... we did have a cake and let the little ones blow out the candles and it didn't bother me one bit to pass on it for myself and let everyone else enjoy.

    Full liquid suggestions?

@@mollydeez for the smoothie what I would do is get some organic low fat plain yogurt and add a skinless seedless fruit in moderation along with Water. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Full liquid suggestions?

So I was where you are now... I was sleeved on 10/6. I ditched all the Protein that everyone suggest prior to. I went and got the pre-made premiere shakes which were a lot more palatable and easier to get down. And one 11oz shake has 30g of protein! But you can now make low fat yogurt smoothies... you can do cream soups strained ... it's going to get better I promise. Cottage cheese... I swear I can say I was you. It will get better.
