    Submitted to insurance

I just submitted to insurance as well. Mine said 2-4 weeks for approval. I'm hoping for sooner. I called today (my doctor office says that helps) and she said they did get everything but wouldn't know anything more for 5-7 days. This has been a long journey and I am so ready to get this done! I have Cigna insurance. Good luck to you!

    Cold sores

I have been getting them all my life as well and valtrex is the answer. Why suffer when you don't have too? On the onset on a cold sore I take 2 pills and I always ice the spot on my lip as well. Then take 2 more 12 hours later and it is gone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Debating referral

I had my PCP and my OBGYN recommend it to me a couple years ago. I thought they must be crazy- I am young and I can do this on my own. Fast forward to now- I am ready to do it! Hoping to have surgery in Feb 2016. Excited about being healthy again! My BMI is 40 and I have high blood pressure and am .1 away from being Pre-diabetic. But you have to make the decision for you. I wasn't ready back then and now I am. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Cold feet

I am in your same boat with family. My husband is super supportive but when I told my parents they thought I was crazy and that it was too dangerous but in the same breath says I'm overweight and need to do something!. It made me so upset. I have a BMI of 40 plus I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea and am borderline pre diabetic. I feel like I have tried everything else and I am desperate to get under 200 again. I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 260. I haven't been under 200 since 2005 and I was close to reaching under 200 in 2011 but didn't make it. Both times were with phentramine and weigh watchers combined. I just could never keep it off. My highest weight was 292 and that was January 2015. I lost down to 250 and then gained around 10 pounds back - which is where I am currently. I have been second guessing the surgery since my parents are against it BUT I can't do it on my own. I'm 37 and I really don't want to be this heavy at 40 years old. Any support you guys can give me would be great. I am on here a lot and am watching YouTube videos of people's experiences. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I used them 2 times and lost weight for around 3 months- then I would gain all the weight back. I tried starting them again this time but stopped because they make me feel crazy. I have anxiety and depression and it does not mix well with that! Decided to do the sleeve and am doing my pre op appointments now. Hoping to have surgery in Feb 2017. Gallbladder removal too?

Is that why the surgeon does an upper GI before surgery? To see if there are gallstones? I am just in the early stages of the insurance process. Hoping to have surgery in January. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
