  1. I was unable to take my Effexor after I was sleeved because the pills crushed up made me vomit. I ended up having horrible withdrawals because of it. But since I went through all of that I decided (with my PCP approval) to try life without anxiety- depression meds and I am 6 weeks post op now and am doing good! It was a really rough 2-3 weeks though!

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

Just saw my dentist and he said it would have to be pretty severe to have teeth decay from malnutrition. So he assumed from what my friend had posted on Facebook that it was from the vomiting or acid reflux that she had her dental issues from.

    3 week stall

I was sleeved 3/15 and I am in a stall as well. Saw my surgeon yesterday and he said not to worry. Just keep protein first and walk 10k steps daily and I will be fine. It's still discouraging not to lose but know this is completely normal and it's not the end of your journey- it's just the beginning!

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

I would assume it would be worse for bypass because they have a harder time with malnutrition afterwards but I am assuming. I was sleeved and the person who said this was sleeved as well.

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

Just that the vomiting and malnutrition made your teeth rot. I am seeing my dentist tomorrow so I will be sure to ask him his thoughts! I will update you!

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

A friend of mine was sleeved last year and now she has a lot of decay and needs root canals. I haven't spoken to my surgeon or dentist about this so I have no real answers. That's why I was posting this to find out more. I am visiting my dentist tomorrow and will definitely ask him his thoughts. I was sleeved 3/15/17. My teeth weren't great to start with and so now I am worried it will be worse. I will let you know what I find out!
  7. I had my surgery on 3/15 and I feel exactly the way you do except I've got my hunger back. It's hunger but as soon as I eat my little meal I am satisfied and full. I think our backs hurt because our ab muscles are still weak from surgery. I walk but haven't started weights or anything like that. I don't use protein shakes - I make my own smoothie with vanilla protein powder, fairlife milk, PB 2 and banana. Other 4-5 meals I eat protein. I get in around 60-70 grams of protein daily doing that. My hormones are definitely crazy but I do think they are calming down a bit! Good luck on your weight loss- I have been at a stall but think it's over now- hopefully! My surgery weight was 253 and I am 226 today. Pretty exciting!

    Ice cream

People are so rude. I am 1 month out and will eat 2 ounces of Halo Top ice cream when I want ice cream. I don't eat the serving because it's a little higher in sugar than I'm allowed to have right now. Hope this helps!
  9. So I ended up having surgery 3/15 and it was extremely tough in the beginning BUT I am down 38 pounds and am feeling so much better! I don't think anyone should rush into this decision. It took me 6 months to complete Insurance appointments and I am so grateful for that time - because I researched everything I possibly could about the surgery. Oh and since surgery I am no longer on my blood pressure meds or using my cpap.

    Non sugar dumping syndrome?

That's good- I was going to suggest using Greek yogurt instead of mayo.

    First day of pureed food

What a great idea to add stuff to the protein shake. I am sick of the shakes but still need them for my protein count. Thanks!
  12. Exactly. The weight loss part is wonderful. But doing all that plastic surgery so soon was wrong in my opinion. Your body needs time to adjust and situate after losing that much weight.
  13. On the show she says 11 months for everything. I think it's absurd.

    Puréed foods

I don't put much. Just enough to get the flavor.

    Puréed foods

Or if you have salsa you can strain it so it's just the juice.

    Puréed foods

I add a little cheese and some taco sauce then heat it up. So good!!!!

    Puréed foods

I do agree with you on that part. Definitely let me know because it's one of the things I have been so excited to try! [emoji4]

    Puréed foods

My surgeon says Ricotta Bake is more soft foods so I still have 1 1/2 week for that. Can't wait!!!

    Puréed foods

I was sleeved 3/15 and I scramble them English style. Use a small saucepan and spray non stick olive oil. Crack egg in saucepan then put stovetop on medium. Constantly stir and when it gets thicker take off heat (constantly stirring) for about 5-10 seconds. Keep doing that until the eggs are soft. I have been eating them since I started purée on Wednesday and haven't had any issues. It's my favorite thing to eat!!! Good luck- let me know if it works for you!

Feel like I'm losing my ever-loving mind

Head hunger is right. I was sleeved 3/15 and it has been hitting me so hard. I have even chewed food in my mouth and then spit it out! I mean - it's like I'm absolutely crazy. I definitely have regretted it like once a day too. BUT I do realize what's happening and that I'm not alone. It's just something I really have to work through. I don't want to go back to the old ways I ate. I'm excited for the future and what new healthy meals I can make for me and my family. By the way I am still on full liquids for 3 more days -which doesn't include pudding or stuff like that. Just protein shakes, broths and sugar free popsicles. I am so excited to start purée foods I have already bought all the stuff I will need to make purée chicken salad and the Ricotta bake.

    Struggling with post op diet!

I am on day 5 and am on full liquids. I am definitely not reaching the protein or water goals yet but am getting more in each day. You are definitely not failing. Good luck!!!
