  1. I agree with cutting out the toast. Can you try to add a vegetable instead of the toast?
  2. Hi! I'm 5'2.5" and 63 years old. When I met my primary care physician in September 2016, I weighed 272 lbs. I met with my surgeon in October. I had my sleeve surgery May 3, 2017 and weighed 254. I was so worried that I wasn't going to lose much weight because of my age. At first, I didn't think I was losing fast enough, but then I really started doing well. This morning, when I got on the scale, it said I weighed 199.6!!!!! I have not weighed in the 100's since I don't remember when. I am so happy I did this. I feel so much better healthwise and I am off most medications. I also have hypothyroidism.

    Eating certain things?

I am two months out from surgery and my instructions are not to add rice and bread until at least 3 months out and not to add beef and pork until at least 6 months out. Have you tried poached eggs. This is what I had when I first tried eggs and they went down easy.

    Why is this so hard?!?

Are you on clear liquids or full liquids? I was only on clear liquids for a couple of days and then on full liquids (protein shakes, thin milk-based soups with no chunks, yogurt thinned w/milk, V-8 juce) for two weeks. I really liked tomato soup w/milk at this stage.
  5. kimmlu - Thank you. I had a really hard time trying to get all my fluids in a few weeks ago, but now, I find that I can drink crystal light without it tasting too sweet and I can drink it much faster that I could then.
  6. I'm 63 and had my surgery on 5/3/17. I have lost 42 pounds since my pre-op diet started on 4/19/17. I'm feeling great and so glad I did this.

    How much can you eat?

Wow! That seems like it would be really hard. I'm only 5 weeks post op and I am having a hard time getting in enough liquid with 3 soft food meals. I have noticed, though, that it is getting easier to drink water faster.

To blizair09 - How do you get in all your liquids with all the meals. Do you wait wait half an hour before and after meals before drinking?

  11. I need suggestions on meals for one month post-op.
  12. I was just wondering what others had lost each week for their first 4 weeks.
  13. I'm 5 days post-op and I haven't lost anything yet. Is this normal? How much weight did others lose the first four weeks post-op?
  14. I have my surgery date, May 3, and I need to tell my boss that I am having surgery and will be out for 2 to 3 weeks. I'm not sure if I want to tell him that I am having bariatric surgery. What did everyone else do?
